OK, as a 80 kid let me tell you, there was no DBZ filler, well not for me, it was more the American TV station only had the episodes where Vegetta and Nappa were coming to the Earth, and they would replay it over and over because they didn't have any more episodes for America after that, I watch the series about 5 or 6 times before they got new ones in the US. 1:31:36 bulma and oolong were central in the first arc of original dragonball bulma was also involved in the red ribbon army arc and roshi played a crucial role in the king piccolo arc
So the reason why Saiyans are all modeled after monkeys is because of Sun Wukong. OG Dragon Ball started out as a weird twist of Journey to the West which follows Sun Wukong, who also was a monkey that had a staff that can expand and shrink it's size at demand, who also rides on a cloud called the Flying Nimbus. It's one of the more famous Chinese novels which a lot of works still take inspiration from to this day. Goku's a saiyan so naturally the monkey traits would be shared amongst the saiyans as well. However becoming a giant ape isn't something Wukong does. I think Toriyama huffed something when he got to that part in the OG Dragon Ball when he came up with that.
The original Sun Wukong had the ability to shapeshift into animals and grow larger. Oozaru is literally just merging 2 of the originals known abilities into one.

I'd like to think that the Saiyan race was forced into genetic and psychological manipulation from the womb or during incubation and under Frieza's influence to enact the tyrant's galactic domination plans. Also, planet Vegeta may not have had an earth like moon to trigger the great ape transformation gene, perhaps the transformation was only discovered when Freiza showed up and had his goons experiment on an unwilling population. Freiza used the threat of annihilation and the Saiyan's great ape transmission to cover more ground in his conquest.
Vegeta has too much pride to call himself the king because he was never appointed the king, so as long as he isn’t personally appointed the king. He will stay the prince out of pride
Dragon Ball was initially based on Journey to the West, Goku specifically being based on Sun Wukong, who was a monkey. Son Goku is the translation into Japanese. Hence, giant monkey. OSP has a series recapping it going on if you ever want to check it out.
No, Goku is NOT this stupid in the original show. He is however, ridicules naive. He literally raised himself alone in the woods since he was about 4 years old hundreds of miles away from the nearest human being. He didn't meet another living being until the start of the OG Dragon Ball series when he was 11 and that's when he started traveling the world. Because of this, while Goku is smart and extremely well trained as a warrior, he has essentially no experience with the world at large outside of fighting tournaments and still has the naive outlook of a child. Its why he will do ridiculous things like letting an enemy go after beating them, hoping that they will learn their lesson. Because that's what happens in the stories. If someone makes him a promise, Goku will automatically assume they are telling the truth because everyone knows lying is wrong. Goku never had the social interactions growing up that lets people understand nuances.
Goku only lets people go because it's "the right thing" in the anime and especially the dub. In the actual manga, it's so he can fight them again later. It's just as dumb, but for a different reason.
I still recommend that you watch Hellsing Ultimate Abridged! It is by the same people, and is absolutely fantastic! It is also shorter, ao you don't need to worry about it taking up too much time!
Correction: Goku's tail doesn't ever grow back because Kami used a spell to prevent it from happening. It was part of a bargain made to restore the moon after it got destroyed the first time.
Somewhere on a burnt CD or an external drive I have that Aaliyah ep, and it's Memories from Cats playing that got cut. Sadly, because it was hilarious.

Goku lost his tail plenty of times growing up, but when he went to Kami, he removed it with magic so it wouldn't regrow anymore.
Glad they're enjoying it so much. I'm looking forward to them binging Frieza next
I've watched all of Abridged once a week for about the last five years.
Vegeta has too much pride to call himself the king because he was never appointed the king, so as long as he isn’t personally appointed the king. He will stay the prince out of pride
1:24:49 and that was Vegeta’s happiest moment
0:19 No,it didn't
Tfs just had low quality equipment
Dragon Ball was initially based on Journey to the West, Goku specifically being based on Sun Wukong, who was a monkey. Son Goku is the translation into Japanese. Hence, giant monkey. OSP has a series recapping it going on if you ever want to check it out.
Bro really said Dragon Ball isnt known for the story while proceeding to skip 40% of it by skipping OG DB.
You know, i needed a good reason so i could watch DBZA in 2024 and this is enough of a reason to.
I've never seen ya'll before. But I'm subscribing because I love DBZA, and you guys gave me a fun rewatch reason ❤
A prince cannot be a king unless there is a coronation ceremony 😅
He calls himself Prince out of respect for his father!
1:22:15 uh… they were real…
These guys get everything wrong so confidently that’s it’s entertaining lol
1:18:57 I’m pretty sure when Piccolo took the key blast. It was much faster.
1:22:11 piccolo did have a touching scene with Gohan while he was dying
I still recommend that you watch Hellsing Ultimate Abridged! It is by the same people, and is absolutely fantastic! It is also shorter, ao you don't need to worry about it taking up too much time!
Now you can actually watch the anime with the original voices or dubbed without the summary of the abridged
This please
Facts, ideally Kai because the animation and voice actors are better
@@BigBurg97 My problem with is that some American reacts actually watch a parody instead of the anime itself lol This is getting ridiculous
@@Lastotakucearense3So?
Nothing matters in DBZ after the piccolo saga
Goku keeps getting back to life and changes hair colors
@@memebrain2177goku has been revived twice and his hair colour is literally only black or blonde in Z, js say you havent watched it bro
It takes the whole series for krillin to finally have something good happen to him
Correction: Goku's tail doesn't ever grow back because Kami used a spell to prevent it from happening. It was part of a bargain made to restore the moon after it got destroyed the first time.
Goku made a deal with kami to trade his tail to bring back the moon when he was a kid because roshi blew it up to stop goku at the world tournament
i would love to see them react to the series from the beginning tbh
Somewhere on a burnt CD or an external drive I have that Aaliyah ep, and it's Memories from Cats playing that got cut. Sadly, because it was hilarious.
And ain't NONE of these sprouts old enough to remember Pee Wee Herman? TF
Its too bad that TFS had to mute their dbz abridged intro recently.
