The reference with shenron is that in og dragoball, king piccolo used the dragonballs to wish for eternal youth. He then killed shenron at the end of the episode which was a massive shock back then because we didn’t know dragonballs could be made.

Fun fact: the form that Goku use is call *False Super Saiyan.* In this the form was originally labeled as the true Super Saiyan form, but later re-labeled as Giji or "False" Super Saiyan after the actual Super Saiyan form was introduced in the manga series.
Actually what really happened was they had him turn super sayian but the anime hadn't even had him turned it yet in the anime so they had to change it.

This is obviously the wrong order to watch the dbz movies. The right order is Dead Zone, World's Strongest, The Tree of Might, THEN Lord Slug. After that, Cooler's Revenge, Return of Cooler, Super Android 13 and finally The Legendary Super Saiyan Broly

When Trunks comes back in time the first time and meets Goku, Trunks tells him in secret what happens to the future, but what they didn't know is that Namekians have super hearing and so Piccolo heard the entire thing and was able to share the plan better than Goku without spoilers to the Z Warriors. Whistling hurts them because of this super hearing and Slug, who is a Super Namekian, has hearing that is even stronger, so the whistling hurts him even more. With Shenron, in Dragon Ball when Goku was a kid, King Piccolo killed Chiaotzu, Tien, and Master Roshi then wished to be restored to his youth and then blew Shenron up before he could disappear so the dragon balls couldn't be used against him

You're watching the movies out of order. The DBZA movies follow their own separate canon from the series and they add jokes and references to them to connect them even more. This movie, for example, has Piccolo making fun of the minions asking what their deal is. That's because this movie comes after Christmas Tree of Might where it was Turles and his "Misfit Minions". The movies go in order "Dead Zone", "The World's Strongest", "Christmas Tree of Might", "Lord Slug", "Revenge of Cooler", "Cooler 2: The Return of Cooler's Revenge - The Reckoning", "Super Android 13", then "Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan". There's a loose progressing plot between those movies. It would also do you some good for future episodes in-general to at least go over a summary of DragonBall (not DBZ) if you're not going to watch the series. The show makes a lot of references to the original series. This movie is referencing King Piccolo from DragonBall because the situation is very similar to when King Piccolo first appeared. The series will also reference Emperor Pilaf (another villain), Mercenary Tao, Monster Carrot, Upa, and Launch. Just as examples.
In the original, Lord Slug had no relation with Guru and wished for eternal youth, not just to be young again. TFS just made those changes to make him more similar to Demon King Piccolo (Piccolo’s dad) to keep the joke going that Lord Slug is a carbon copy of King Piccolo. Also, Goku said “I have no money” not “I have no mug.” Also also, the giant namekian thing is something that Piccolo (the one you know) did in the original Dragon Ball. Also also also, yes, due to namekians having sensitive hearing, the sound of whistling is incredibly painful to them and him being a giant amplified his senses, making it worse for him. 8:13 OG dragon ball reference. King Piccolo wished for the exact same thing. Also Goku's transformation is called False Super Saiyan. Piccolo also grew into a giant in OG dragon ball. This movie is just the OG dragon ball King Piccolo arc all over again. Gohan does actually whistle, namekians have really sensitive ears, that's how he heard Trunks talking to Goku about the future.
They referenced Slug in the mid 20s of the Namek saga. So when King Kai days Slug is the banished other half of a grand elder Namekian, he meant Guru (who in the Abridged universe is the evil half). Frieza: And when I'm done with him, I'll be back for you, *slug.* (Namekians are apparently similar to slugs in the BDZA universe) Super Kami Guru: Leave my brother *out of this!*

The scene of Vegeta watching tv with the sword nearby is from Bojack Unbound, which is the movie right after Gohan goes ssj2 against Cell. Basically the movies are a chance to animate the most recent powers gained and show off the series' progression and maybe gain new fans. This one takes place after Piccolo fuses with Nail but before Goku fights Frieza. Everyone is on Namek at this time in the canon. For comparison, Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan takes place during the week that Cell gave Goku to prepare.

The dragon's name is Icarus and he shows up in the Garlic Jr movie (not just during Gohan's hallucinations), pops up in some filler episodes in the series but primarily only shows back up in a couple movies like this one. And one day you will understand Lord Slug wishing to be back in his prime lol
You've got some context, but frankly both for this to really make sense and to better connect with your viewers it doesn't hurt to improve. So... In the second to last major arc of the first Dragonball Series (no Z), Kami's long-split evil half King Piccolo returned with his minions and wished for youth. Just before dying he birthed Piccolo Jr, the Piccolo of Z. He also turned giant, which is why Slug can do it here. Namekians also have very sensitive hearing, leading to the whistle thing in this movie and Piccolo tearing his own ears off so he'd be immune during that segment. Goku's final attack was simply a spirit bomb with dramatic effect, but the form earlier is something special! Many fans consider it to be what Super Saiyan was planned to look like before the Golden Hair design. *Icarus is the best change to be made by the anime. He debuted after Namek in Tree of Might (I think), but entered other movies and even the main series. Sadly though, due to not originating from the manga, Icarus was cut out as the show entered the Android Saga.

there are a couple things of import with this movie 1st, you watched it out of order lol, it comes after christmas tree of might 2nd piccolo RIPS OFF HIS OWN EARS and then tells gohan to whistle, which is shown to be a debilitating weakness to namekians (in this movie only) this is due to there hearing being atleast 10x better than humans 3rd, every reference to king piccolo is a joke about how lord slug is basically a carbon copy of that character from the original dragon ball right down to wishing for youth and growing giant.
He really should have watched TFS’ Christmas Tree Of Might before this one. That’s the movie that establishes Goku’s intense love of Christmas, that Frieza replaced Christmas with Frieza Day at 13:20 and it was referenced in this movie at 10:28 with Piccolo saying “like the last guys; They were all misfit minions”.

I like how in OG Dragon Ball, Piccolo becoming a giant didn't increase his power at all, which Goku even remarks at, but in the Lord Slug film, they directly imply that it DOES boost power output

Slug was getting his ass kicked by false SSJ Goku before becoming giant, and he gets all confident, as if slug thought it would make a big difference. Then Slug gets the upper hand and has to be sonically incapacitated. It's just an inconsistency because Toei doesn't care about power scaling any more than Toriyama did. Like when base form Trunks is fighting Android 14 and actually landing blows despite the fact that SSJ Trunks just a few minutes later doesn't manage to even phase 14. The only way to make it make sense is that their power levels are fluctuating wildly the entire time, and by insanely wide margins lol

As far as Timeline; it takes place between when Frieza fights the group and Goku is out of the healing pod, hence why Nail is in Piccolo's head, and the faux-super saiyan (which was meant to be actual Super Saiyan, but Toriyama hadn't set in the hair color at hte time, so the animation crew just used what they had access to, hence why it's just Very Angry Goku-like). 2. Icarus is a purely movie-character, who makes subsequent apperances in the movies, but during each one TFS has him be used as food for the Goku family (the dragon soup Chi Chi made and the pile of bones outside the Goku House are Icarus') just to deal with the fact that they try to make these movies semi-canon or fit into the story, and since Icarus is NEVER in the story, he has to be offed during the movies :'D Icarus was also shown as a blackmail motive by Goku to have Great Ape Gohan focus his anger on Vegeta ! 3. The Dragonballs originate from Namek, and were made available by Kami when coming to Earth, so anyone that isn't Namekian or from Earth wouldn't really know what those are. 4. Shenron remarking that Slug's wish is familiar is a throwback to how the first Demon King Piccolo wished for the same thing. 5. the "Misfit Minions" is related to the previous movie, Tree of Might, where Piccolo starts making note of what role in the group each minion supposedly fills. 6. Vegeta's apperance, along with Trunks' sword, are taken from the Bojack Unbound movie, but since Vegeta IS around during thime in the show, they wanted to feature him just being around more or less. 7. Namekians have very sensitive and acute hearing, Piccolo was able to hear the private conversation between Trunks and Goku when you were playing Kakarot. Growing giant just amplifies that sensitivity. 8. Goku saying at the end that now that King Piccolo is dead he can wish back Chiaotzu and Roshi is also rubbing in salt on the wound where Slug is just a reused King Piccolo, and that one did indeed kill Chiaotzu and Roshi and others in OG Dragonball. 9. As you may have been told; World's Strongest and Tree of Might take place BEFORE this movie, but i think TFS worked on them much later, hence the release dates of their uploads not matching with the chronological order of the movies.

For those who don't get the references to King Piccolo, basically the Saga of King Piccolo in Dragon Ball has King Piccolo (which is the father of DBZ Piccolo), which was sealed away for many years, retrieving the Dragon Balls and wishing himself to be young again and then be able to conquer the world. In the Lord Slug movie, Slug has basically the exact same motivation, and is also a namekian like Piccolo. So its pretty much a carbon copy. The same can be aplied to many other DBZ movies, be it either taking a villain and changing just enough to make them different (IE Buu and Janemba, Freezer and Cooler...) or take plots or fights from the series and adapting them with some wrinkles here and there (this movie not only takes the plot of King Piccolo, but many moments of the fight are taken from either Goku vs King Piccolo or Goku vs Piccolo in the Budokai Tournament)

17:34 The thing is, that Goku is at least smarter in the actual movie, and he knows it's not Christmas. And, the timeline here is before the whole Frieza conflict and the first Super Saiyan transformation (which is why the form is called "Pseudo Supa Saiya-Jin". Or "False Super Saiyan", if there's western people already trying to correct me 🙄). It's a good thing the movies aren't canon, because if it was, the Shonen library would put Dragon Ball Z in the category of confusion (which is confusing of how they know Guru, but not Frieza, which was the person they met before Guru! This is just as confusing as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure!). I don't remember what King Kai said, because it's been a while since I watched it, and I forget the non-canon movies except Fusion Reborn and Wrath of the Dragon, but I think he encouraged him, or something, I dunno.

Then, King Piccolo spit out an egg that had current piccolo in it as a baby... and thats a whole thing for a while. The keep calling him King Piccolo I think because Lord Slug is basically doing what King Picocolo (Picolo's father) did when Goku was a child, collecting the dragon balls and wishing himself to be younger (which is why the dragon said that it seemed very familiar). Also, I've never seen this movie but since Piccolo ripped off his own ears, the whistling thing probably happened.
In regards to stuff 1) The movies like to copy or repeat story beats from the series: Lord Slug is more overt (he's also copying Freiza's schtick by being proclaimed as 'Emperor of the Universe'), hence the jokes where his minions call him "King Piccolo" and he kills them (in the original, he killed them because they accidentally called him old) and how Shenron goes "Wait, this seems familiar..." Because wishing for restored youth is what King Piccolo did as well. 2) Yeah, the meteor really did knock Goku out of commission long enough for Lord Slug and co to freeze up Earth and collect the Dragon Balls. 3) The film was originally called "Super Saiyan Son Goku" and the golden aura was supposed to be the first animation debut of the form, even ahead of the anime (and manga), but when the Super Saiyan form ended up fairly different, it got changed to 'False Super Saiyan form'. Some dubs say that Goku instead did "Kaioken X 100". Hence King Kai being all confused and riffing on the form. 4) Lord Slug being the other (good) half of Guru is purely an invention of the Abridged series based on their characterization of Guru as a monster. It's a little vague exactly what Lord Slug is, other than a 'totally evil Super Namekian': different dubs and subs tweak it, TFS went with "half of an Elder Grand Namekian". 5) Vegeta was not in the movie in the original cut: that snippet of him is from another film. Hence why Trunks' sword is next to him. 6) Namekians, it seems, CAN grow giant: Piccolo Jr, ie the DBZ Piccolo, ie the son of King Piccolo, who became good thanks to exposure to Gohan's pure innocent soul, did it at the end of Dragon Ball when he fought Goku in the tournament of fighters that happened repeatedly in the first several arcs of the manga. Goku, however, used it to jump inside him and retrieve something important Piccolo had swallowed, so Piccolo in canon never used it again. Same with the stretching arms: the movies tend to have the characters break out abilities that had been mostly forgotten about.
The "What?!" Phrase you heard throughout this movie is a reference to the WWE wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin who used the term as his catchphrase. They also use his entrance theme when Piccolo comes in to fight Lord Slug's army.
19:15 The super-size ability is something that Piccolo did in his fight against Goku, their World Tournament fight, the only time Goku was the champion. It's kind of a bad ability because you're a lot slower and less agile. It's also unclear if its something that all Namekians are capable of, or if Piccolo and Slug are special in some way. AFAIK those two are the only ones to use this ability in the entire canon series

Fun fact: the form that Goku use is call *False Super Saiyan.* In this the form was originally labeled as the true Super Saiyan form, but later re-labeled as Giji or "False" Super Saiyan after the actual Super Saiyan form was introduced in the manga series.

I love the world building that the abridged movies bring. Some references may go over your head from OG DB or GT, but many other references are from TFS and come full circle at some point.

Its why Piccolo ripped off his own ears before telling Gohan to Whistle.

When Trunks comes back in time the first time and meets Goku, Trunks tells him in secret what happens to the future, but what they didn't know is that Namekians have super hearing and so Piccolo heard the entire thing and was able to share the plan better than Goku without spoilers to the Z Warriors. Whistling hurts them because of this super hearing and Slug, who is a Super Namekian, has hearing that is even stronger, so the whistling hurts him even more.
With Shenron, in Dragon Ball when Goku was a kid, King Piccolo killed Chiaotzu, Tien, and Master Roshi then wished to be restored to his youth and then blew Shenron up before he could disappear so the dragon balls couldn't be used against him

You're watching the movies out of order. The DBZA movies follow their own separate canon from the series and they add jokes and references to them to connect them even more.
This movie, for example, has Piccolo making fun of the minions asking what their deal is. That's because this movie comes after Christmas Tree of Might where it was Turles and his "Misfit Minions".
The movies go in order "Dead Zone", "The World's Strongest", "Christmas Tree of Might", "Lord Slug", "Revenge of Cooler", "Cooler 2: The Return of Cooler's Revenge - The Reckoning", "Super Android 13", then "Broly the Legendary Super Saiyan".
There's a loose progressing plot between those movies.
It would also do you some good for future episodes in-general to at least go over a summary of DragonBall (not DBZ) if you're not going to watch the series. The show makes a lot of references to the original series.
This movie is referencing King Piccolo from DragonBall because the situation is very similar to when King Piccolo first appeared. The series will also reference Emperor Pilaf (another villain), Mercenary Tao, Monster Carrot, Upa, and Launch. Just as examples.
In the original, Lord Slug had no relation with Guru and wished for eternal youth, not just to be young again. TFS just made those changes to make him more similar to Demon King Piccolo (Piccolo’s dad) to keep the joke going that Lord Slug is a carbon copy of King Piccolo. Also, Goku said “I have no money” not “I have no mug.” Also also, the giant namekian thing is something that Piccolo (the one you know) did in the original Dragon Ball. Also also also, yes, due to namekians having sensitive hearing, the sound of whistling is incredibly painful to them and him being a giant amplified his senses, making it worse for him. That was actually how they beat him in the original. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

The sword that is with Vegeta is Trunk's, which he receives from a movie character called Tapion, (Wrath of the Dragon) which I suppose makes it one of the only dbz movies that can be considered canon.
The other guys arms were stretched out because about 4 seconds ago he stretched them out to grapple Goku's legs and make him stuck to the ground, which when Goku repelled his mouth blast, made him fly back as his arms were still stretched

Starting at 10:29 through 11:06 is peak Team Four Star. Pretty much their best writing moment. Not coincidentally, also the best Piccolo moment.
The scene of Vegeta watching tv with the sword nearby is from Bojack Unbound, which is the movie right after Gohan goes ssj2 against Cell. Basically the movies are a chance to animate the most recent powers gained and show off the series' progression and maybe gain new fans. This one takes place after Piccolo fuses with Nail but before Goku fights Frieza. Everyone is on Namek at this time in the canon. For comparison, Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan takes place during the week that Cell gave Goku to prepare.
The Vegeta scene's from way later, in the Bojack movie as I recall. They just threw it here basically to give him something to do since he's not in this movie

The dragon's name is Icarus and he shows up in the Garlic Jr movie (not just during Gohan's hallucinations), pops up in some filler episodes in the series but primarily only shows back up in a couple movies like this one.

You've got some context, but frankly both for this to really make sense and to better connect with your viewers it doesn't hurt to improve. So...
In the second to last major arc of the first Dragonball Series (no Z), Kami's long-split evil half King Piccolo returned with his minions and wished for youth. Just before dying he birthed Piccolo Jr, the Piccolo of Z. He also turned giant, which is why Slug can do it here. Namekians also have very sensitive hearing, leading to the whistle thing in this movie and Piccolo tearing his own ears off so he'd be immune during that segment.
Goku's final attack was simply a spirit bomb with dramatic effect, but the form earlier is something special! Many fans consider it to be what Super Saiyan was planned to look like before the Golden Hair design.
*Icarus is the best change to be made by the anime. He debuted after Namek in Tree of Might (I think), but entered other movies and even the main series. Sadly though, due to not originating from the manga, Icarus was cut out as the show entered the Android Saga.

2nd piccolo RIPS OFF HIS OWN EARS and then tells gohan to whistle, which is shown to be a debilitating weakness to namekians (in this movie only) this is due to there hearing being atleast 10x better than humans
3rd, every reference to king piccolo is a joke about how lord slug is basically a carbon copy of that character from the original dragon ball right down to wishing for youth and growing giant.
The delivery on "Ah ha! I KNEW you'd do that" is so good haha. It makes it sound like Piccolo was making it up as he went.
He really should have watched TFS’ Christmas Tree Of Might before this one. That’s the movie that establishes Goku’s intense love of Christmas, that Frieza replaced Christmas with Frieza Day at 13:20 and it was referenced in this movie at 10:28 with Piccolo saying “like the last guys; They were all misfit minions”.
I'm surprised you didn't catch Gohan making a Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope reference when he said "That's no building; it's a space station" instead of "That's no moon..."
I like how in OG Dragon Ball, Piccolo becoming a giant didn't increase his power at all, which Goku even remarks at, but in the Lord Slug film, they directly imply that it DOES boost power output

Slug was getting his ass kicked by false SSJ Goku before becoming giant, and he gets all confident, as if slug thought it would make a big difference.
Then Slug gets the upper hand and has to be sonically incapacitated.
It's just an inconsistency because Toei doesn't care about power scaling any more than Toriyama did.
Like when base form Trunks is fighting Android 14 and actually landing blows despite the fact that SSJ Trunks just a few minutes later doesn't manage to even phase 14.
The only way to make it make sense is that their power levels are fluctuating wildly the entire time, and by insanely wide margins lol
Don’t forget the revenge of cooler, funny one to watch before you start the next saga
1. As far as Timeline; it takes place between when Frieza fights the group and Goku is out of the healing pod, hence why Nail is in Piccolo's head, and the faux-super saiyan (which was meant to be actual Super Saiyan, but Toriyama hadn't set in the hair color at hte time, so the animation crew just used what they had access to, hence why it's just Very Angry Goku-like).
2. Icarus is a purely movie-character, who makes subsequent apperances in the movies, but during each one TFS has him be used as food for the Goku family (the dragon soup Chi Chi made and the pile of bones outside the Goku House are Icarus') just to deal with the fact that they try to make these movies semi-canon or fit into the story, and since Icarus is NEVER in the story, he has to be offed during the movies :'D Icarus was also shown as a blackmail motive by Goku to have Great Ape Gohan focus his anger on Vegeta !
3. The Dragonballs originate from Namek, and were made available by Kami when coming to Earth, so anyone that isn't Namekian or from Earth wouldn't really know what those are.
4. Shenron remarking that Slug's wish is familiar is a throwback to how the first Demon King Piccolo wished for the same thing.
5. the "Misfit Minions" is related to the previous movie, Tree of Might, where Piccolo starts making note of what role in the group each minion supposedly fills.
6. Vegeta's apperance, along with Trunks' sword, are taken from the Bojack Unbound movie, but since Vegeta IS around during thime in the show, they wanted to feature him just being around more or less.
7. Namekians have very sensitive and acute hearing, Piccolo was able to hear the private conversation between Trunks and Goku when you were playing Kakarot. Growing giant just amplifies that sensitivity.
8. Goku saying at the end that now that King Piccolo is dead he can wish back Chiaotzu and Roshi is also rubbing in salt on the wound where Slug is just a reused King Piccolo, and that one did indeed kill Chiaotzu and Roshi and others in OG Dragonball.
9. As you may have been told; World's Strongest and Tree of Might take place BEFORE this movie, but i think TFS worked on them much later, hence the release dates of their uploads not matching with the chronological order of the movies.

For those who don't get the references to King Piccolo, basically the Saga of King Piccolo in Dragon Ball has King Piccolo (which is the father of DBZ Piccolo), which was sealed away for many years, retrieving the Dragon Balls and wishing himself to be young again and then be able to conquer the world. In the Lord Slug movie, Slug has basically the exact same motivation, and is also a namekian like Piccolo. So its pretty much a carbon copy. The same can be aplied to many other DBZ movies, be it either taking a villain and changing just enough to make them different (IE Buu and Janemba, Freezer and Cooler...) or take plots or fights from the series and adapting them with some wrinkles here and there (this movie not only takes the plot of King Piccolo, but many moments of the fight are taken from either Goku vs King Piccolo or Goku vs Piccolo in the Budokai Tournament)

And, the timeline here is before the whole Frieza conflict and the first Super Saiyan transformation (which is why the form is called "Pseudo Supa Saiya-Jin". Or "False Super Saiyan", if there's western people already trying to correct me 🙄). It's a good thing the movies aren't canon, because if it was, the Shonen library would put Dragon Ball Z in the category of confusion (which is confusing of how they know Guru, but not Frieza, which was the person they met before Guru! This is just as confusing as JoJo's Bizarre Adventure!). I don't remember what King Kai said, because it's been a while since I watched it, and I forget the non-canon movies except Fusion Reborn and Wrath of the Dragon, but I think he encouraged him, or something, I dunno.

Also King Piccolo is from og Dragon Ball. Goku flying through Lord Slug's chest is the same thing he did to King Piccolo (when goku was a kid). The first episode of Dragon Ball Z is when Piccolo kinda started moving over to the side of good.
The keep calling him King Piccolo I think because Lord Slug is basically doing what King Picocolo (Picolo's father) did when Goku was a child, collecting the dragon balls and wishing himself to be younger (which is why the dragon said that it seemed very familiar).
Also, I've never seen this movie but since Piccolo ripped off his own ears, the whistling thing probably happened.
In regards to stuff
1) The movies like to copy or repeat story beats from the series: Lord Slug is more overt (he's also copying Freiza's schtick by being proclaimed as 'Emperor of the Universe'), hence the jokes where his minions call him "King Piccolo" and he kills them (in the original, he killed them because they accidentally called him old) and how Shenron goes "Wait, this seems familiar..." Because wishing for restored youth is what King Piccolo did as well.
2) Yeah, the meteor really did knock Goku out of commission long enough for Lord Slug and co to freeze up Earth and collect the Dragon Balls.
3) The film was originally called "Super Saiyan Son Goku" and the golden aura was supposed to be the first animation debut of the form, even ahead of the anime (and manga), but when the Super Saiyan form ended up fairly different, it got changed to 'False Super Saiyan form'. Some dubs say that Goku instead did "Kaioken X 100". Hence King Kai being all confused and riffing on the form.
4) Lord Slug being the other (good) half of Guru is purely an invention of the Abridged series based on their characterization of Guru as a monster. It's a little vague exactly what Lord Slug is, other than a 'totally evil Super Namekian': different dubs and subs tweak it, TFS went with "half of an Elder Grand Namekian".
5) Vegeta was not in the movie in the original cut: that snippet of him is from another film. Hence why Trunks' sword is next to him.
6) Namekians, it seems, CAN grow giant: Piccolo Jr, ie the DBZ Piccolo, ie the son of King Piccolo, who became good thanks to exposure to Gohan's pure innocent soul, did it at the end of Dragon Ball when he fought Goku in the tournament of fighters that happened repeatedly in the first several arcs of the manga. Goku, however, used it to jump inside him and retrieve something important Piccolo had swallowed, so Piccolo in canon never used it again. Same with the stretching arms: the movies tend to have the characters break out abilities that had been mostly forgotten about.
Of note in this movie: Piccolo is Sone Cold Steve Austin. The spotlight glass breaking with the music, and constantly shouting "what"...

The "What?!" Phrase you heard throughout this movie is a reference to the WWE wrestler Stone Cold Steve Austin who used the term as his catchphrase. They also use his entrance theme when Piccolo comes in to fight Lord Slug's army.
19:15 The super-size ability is something that Piccolo did in his fight against Goku, their World Tournament fight, the only time Goku was the champion. It's kind of a bad ability because you're a lot slower and less agile. It's also unclear if its something that all Namekians are capable of, or if Piccolo and Slug are special in some way. AFAIK those two are the only ones to use this ability in the entire canon series
