Canada went back to Ocean due to laws requiring a majority percentage of content (including animated) have local talent, and it ended up in the UK and Europe as we couldn't afford Funi at the time, their asking prices were through the roof, which means the UK got a man who was once branded as "too cool" to be reprise his role of Goku by ADR directors alike... the late great Kirby Morrow.

13:40, bro I remember you fighting #20 in the game and you made he seem more powerful than the anime ever could 🤣🤣
The creator of dragon ball stated that it’s too time consuming drawing buildings on the background so he destroys the buildings or makes the fights in wastelands
8:06 You failed to notice that Yamcha noticed the song the trucker was playing.
The bit where Goku says "You are most unkind!" is actually dialogue from a delated scene from the Dragon Ball Z Kai dub in which TFS actually voiced characachers of the Z Warriors. It was cut because while Funimation loves TFS, Toei is really anal when it comes to copyright stuff.
The 10/10 fight, by any standards but especially leaving out all the fighting on Namek which the drone didn't get to observe, would be Goku vs Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga. Every time there's a poll of the best fights in the series it comes down to that one and Goku vs Frieza, and deservedly so. It's constantly shifting the circumstances and increasing the stakes, and it doesn't drag itself out anywhere near as much as its lead competition.
The Intro voice rule usually happens in the lasts half when the drama is at its highest
Nah, just drama in general. In namek all the characters were dying one by one so we got all of their voices in the intro before their demise
@@asianpersuasion4901 But not main characters
@@9791mij goku said it when he died vs cell. pretty sure krillin, vegeta, and others said it when they died too.
my favorite part of dbz/hajime no ippo is the in-betweens of arcs/fights. character interaction. whoever writes that ippo thing that won't fucking end, he's better at comedy than boxing.
secret video 🧐 th-cam.com/video/RNzh6_Se9Fo/w-d-xo.html
The audacity of Bulma, breaks up with Yamcha, gets knocked up by Vegeta then asks him for help with the baby? F*** that.
This man is beautiful for posting more abridged
He says it's a girls name cause last episode he called future Trunks a she lol
I'm so glad you posted abridged this fast, was worried it would be another long wait, this and Hunter x Hunter are the main ones I look forward to
BACK TO BACK YEA?? WW
If goku didn't have his heart virus he would have bodied 19 and gero
Fun fact: Akira Toriyama ACTUALLY wanted 19 and 20 to be the bosses of the android saga, but he was convinced to create 17 and 18 and giving 19 and 20 a seundary role.
This can be confirmed in the japanese manga, when Trunks says the androides 19 and 20 destroyed the world
Edit: He wasn't forced, just got a recommandation. My bad
He wasn’t forced. His old editor (as in his friend who no longer edited for him but gave advice after reading the manga) just told him they were uncool.
Toriyama was not forced, he merely reconsidered on the fly. It happens a lot. Cell is just the most famous example and the one that worked out the most
@@shadowofdimentio4618 Oh,I always heard that he was kinda forced, but is true what you say
@@secoTheSonicFan Toriyama has a weird relationship with super but it's actually written by Toyatoro who did some big fan dbz thing before that. It had stuff like Broly and Power levels and is a much bigger indicator of super's quality than' freedom'. The Cell saga also wasn't that great itself. It has a lot of problems, including Cell who gets less interesting as he transforms (the anime and games and fanstuff make Cell way better but the actual manga has him as a boring evil guy his entire stay as perfect), showing the advice actually hurt the story at times.
Buu was less about freedom and more Toriyama just writing whatever he wanted. He had a ton of freedom in early drgonball and he was fine. If anything, what hurts Buu the most if Toriyama sticking to convention. Almost every good thing about the Buu arc is something new while the problems show up when he goes back to the usual. Superhero Gohan > Ultimate Gohan anyday.
The previous one was also Yamcha in reference to Future Yamcha, and this one for the Android attack, though this one was more of a fake out...
I'm happy you put respect on Yamcha. In the og days of DragonBall, nobody trained harder than this dude. He didn't care about fighting; he cared about the martial arts. Dude was on his way to being THE master. Idk why Toriyama just decided to make him a joke.
Goku’s transformation in this episode is probably my favorite scream from MasakoX.
From here on out, this series is going to be lit in so many ways 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Jack, next episode is going to be Legendary.
The "Cat loves food" song was sung by the actual english VA of Yamcha from the original show... crazy huh
Wait, Chris Sabat sung it???
@@darkerkyo yup, it's because he alone did the line of dialogue which had Yamcha singing "Cat Loves Food", by Trunks informing Goku of the Artificial humans (or Androids to dub fans) it returned to Vancouver's Ocean Studios for Canada, UK and Europe exclusively (while the U.S stuck with the Texas cast)... Canada went back to Ocean due to laws requiring a majority percentage of content (including animated) have local talent, and it ended up in the UK and Europe as we couldn't afford Funi at the time, their asking prices were through the roof, which means the UK got a man who was once branded as "too cool" to be reprise his role of Goku by ADR directors alike... the late great Kirby Morrow.
fact: when starting dbz I kinda confused yamcha and goku for a couple days because i started right at the time he's learning the spirit bomb, and i didn't watch it every day like i do now.
I used to get Yamcha and Ultimate Gohan confused lmao
"Gohan is the only normal person, Piccolo kinda"
You mean the giant green yoshi is a normal person
Both androids have completely different voices. Android 19 had a high voice and it was annoying af lol
this is where shit gets real
Bean daddy actually was a thing he called himself.
fun fact: Yamcha has never won an important 1 on 1 fight on-screen only kicks randoms butts for preliminary fights
8:28 I didn't realize before that Goku referred Philip K. Dick's book title here.
Fun fact: a sensu bean healed Yamcha's gaping wound...but Goku with a similar injury couldn't survive even if he ate one. 😕
Jack, I don’t know if you know this, but the reason why Yamcha and Bulma never works out in the real canon is because Yamcha cheats
They brought back the “I can see the future” from abridged Backdock
Get ready, the next episode is the best non season finale in dbza
Would you believe me if i said yamcha was the baddass of original dragonball
10:00 - No, 19 normally sounds higher pitched. They went for a Baymax-style voice as a joke.
You still got to watch a few movies/specials before going back to the series you have to watch: Bardock return ,the tree of might movie (there's two parts to this), Dbz kai abridged 2 and kai abridged 2.9
bean daddy is a call back to the funimation version of coolers revenge lol
Back2Back!!! You are literally spoiling us. We don't deserve this. Thank you so much. May you and everyone here take care, be safe, and have yourselves a beautiful blessed day! 🙌 🙏
2 episodes back to back?! Is it my birthday
"Does he ever get a spotlight?"
Hahahahahahaahahahahahahahaha No.
Yesss I'm loving abridged, keep thse babies rolling
Fun fact Yamaha just kinda exist in dragonball he was a bandit fought goku and immediately lost. Dates bulma does some training for piccolo jr. and then sayian saga starts and well you know the rest.
In all honesty, I love it when Dragon Ball gets dark like this
Great to see another episode so soon
and hey did you miss movie 3 Tree of might?
Surprise jack doesn’t get ptsd from seeing android 20, because of kakarot
Ironicly toriyamas director said that these 2 androids are not intimidating enough and he should design new ones.
Ex editor actually, but Toriyama still trusted his opinion and changed that.
And then those two weren't intimidating enough, and he told him to make another one.
THANKS FOR POSTING ANOTHER ABRIDGED!
Imagine getting rolled by an inconspicuous old man and mime; couldn't be me, lol
It was Yamacha in the intro
Android 19 ( the mime) sounds like some super creepy synthetic child
Remember to watch "Cooler returns" before continuing due to the fact that's its around this time when the movie showed up or atleast as soon as Vegeta goes SS.
5:00 i can't remember what that song is called, but i know it's from Homestuck
Android 19 did a reference. "They can see the future!" Remember Freeza planet 419? Is a reference to those dumb psychic aliens.
"I can see the future!“
“Hey look! One survived."
"OH NO! They can see me! I must stop you from destroy my race... IN THE FUTURE!“
"We already did that."
"... ...I know you'll do that! Now to kill you!“
*Hits Bardok in the back of the neck*
"Now you too can see the future!“
*Gets basted*
"... ... I'M ON FIRE!"
In the Funimation Dub, Cyborg 19 has a robotic (and kinda annoying and kinda hard to understand sometimes) high pitched whiny voice with an effect on it. Also the part where Tien asks Piccolo where the nearest wasteland is, it's a jab at Piccolo for not having a home LMAO btw, in the new movie coming this summer, the trailer shows Piccolo finally built himself a house.
