Every voice actor/actress in the series is top tier. He had the chance to show off with bombastic screams but that is far from the only way to showcase skill in that industry. I'm glad people are noticing the stellar voice acting in these games for once but don't undermine every other performance just because he got to scream the loudest. I mean this in the best possible way
@@imannam of course the other voice actors were also amazing. The thing about this voice actor is that I never expected such motivation and passion from his voice lines. @@DoomMishima anyone can be loud but read my reply. All of the voice actors were good but his performance just blew me. Love the voice actors of other npcs
The knowledge that Midra and Father Gascoigne voiced by the same guy that voices Gilligan is so profoundly funny to me. Two of them are immensely suffering, physically and mentally, and then you have Gilligan giving you a cutscene for a comedically small ladder.
Messmer and Igon r my fav. The fact that Messmer is his first video game credit is crazy. I really hope he does more voice acting for games. His voice is so cool.
I hope Jack Barton plays the main protagonist of Final Fantasy XVII. He sounds great. Hell I'd be surprised if the main protagonist is a red haired pretty boy too.
The Hornsent Grandam's speech hits straight to my soul.. The way she delivers her pure and unadulterated discontempt directly to your soul when you first meet her.. 🤩🤩
@@Urd-Vidanmakes sense. A voice often sounds more natural if the character adopts similar features from their actor (when it’s not a blatant guest cameo of course).

He should interview the DLC's cast. I think the NPCs were very colorful. Yes, most of them had like 5 lines, but they're 5 really unforgettable lines. And then there's Radahn having none 😂
They are all top notch but I think Leda is my favorite. The way she is incredibly soft spoken and yet at the same time somehow threatening is very appealing to me.
YOOOO I was watching shadow and bone on netflix, loved that show due to its fantasy setting and characters. Kaz Brekker was played by Freddy Carter and i would've NEVER expected him to show up as moore. Gets cooler the more you think about it!
Freddy Carter is super talented for being able to put that much depth into his first role. A ton of Moore’s context as a character comes from the way he speaks.
Really great to see so many folks taking their first steps into video game voice acting. Each and every one of them brought tremendous presence to their performances. With how Shakespearean that the dialogue in SOTE is, one wonders if many of them have backgrounds in theatre.
0:15 Curse you, Bayle! I hereby vow! You will rue this day! Behold, a true Drake Warrior! And I, Igon! Your fear made flesh! Solid of scale you might be, foul dragon … But I will riddle with holes your rotten hide! With a hail of harpoons! With every last drop of my being!
Igon got us hyped for Bayle, but Leda got us hyped for Shadow of the Erdtree. "Miquella the kind spoke of the beginning." The voice acting is cracked across all these characters. Hornsent Grandam btw - underrated voice performance.
theres rightfully been a lot of love for igon but; the fact jack barton looks like messmer is hilarious to me idk, his voice is perfect for his lore. really sadly short but excellent performance. naomi yang delivered some awesome lines in really unique tones but i think ben miles as ansbach is genuinely the best nuanced character in a videogame ive ever heard outside of arthur morgan in RDR 2 matthew gravelle as ymir is beautifully creepy in a way like lord voldemort is, big fan also the DLC knocked it out the park in terms of acting and characters my fave was dryleaf dane though obviously ;)
Who was your Fav? Besides Igon.. 🤣
CURSE YOU BAYLE
Messmer the Impaler
Ansbach
Ansbach over Igon imo
Moore, he sounds so friendly
Damn they really got Messmer to voice Messmer
He was perfect for the role
Richard Lintern did the best performance as a voice actor in the history of fromsoft despite having a few lines. So much energy and character, 11/10
It's stockpile Thomas for a new generation

hes done other media but this is his first video game role

Leda has that sharp female voice that is hiding in a forcibly softer tone that channels her cold ruthlessness so beautifully
man, I can't believe Miyazaki convinced Jack Barton to get plastic surgery just to look like Messmer

When I heard her say 'wanton strumpet" it irrationally made me want to defend Marika for a second.
I heard after the Lands Between went down the gutter, she relocated to a sewer in Lordran and started selling moss to traveling undead.
Jack Barton needs allllllll the praise in the world. Messmer is the coolest fucking souls character.
You gotta be kidding

Leda's voice is so beautiful. One of my favorite voices in Elden Ring along with Ranni and Gideon's voices.
So many first video game credits and they killed it, we have come a long way from the older fromsoft games lol
it’s kind of nice that they work with relatively unknown actors
I love the voice acting in dark souls trilogy and Bloodborne.
IM SO OBSESSED WITH JACK BARTON'S VOICE
Same. And Messmer in general, I'm obsessed.
So many newcomers to videogame voice acting. They knocked it out of the park.

The voice actor for Midra really pulled out his spine to be authentic.
I was wondering for weeks about who's Messmer's voice actor, such a great job

Ansbach VA Ben Miles has a smooth voice.
Ben Miles is my new headcanon for what Ansbach looks like lol
Kinda funny how Jack's face is quite similar to Messmer's.

Midra is my fav besides Igon,
The voice during cutscenes where he sound's tired and defeated is just amazing.
We got Athelstan in Elden Ring before GTA VI
Why was Dancer of Ranah voiced? we never hear her
I feel like she voiced her grunts or something?
She shares 90% face data with Tanith so maybe they mixed her up or they just voiced some grunts and stuff.
Wait Midra’s voice actor is the same from Bloodborne Father Gascoigne?? He’s such a good voice actor glad to have him back.

Omg Midra's VA is the dude from The Story of Tracy Beaker show from over a decade ago...
Leda's voice is so good. Kinda reminds me of Anri but colder
