    Swing arms are aluminium anodized, so no problems with corrosion, your right about fork seals and stations. Dont worry about laquer on fork sliders, they all go like that, so remove and polish and they look great.

    They never sold this girl in the States, or I would have bought one. Instead, I have carefully modded my (2nd) Bandit 1200 with numerous high-end goodies including proper suspension, a Corbin seat, and a JE Piston 1216cc kit. It runs awesome, puts 120 HP / 84 ft. lbs of Torque to the rear wheel, goes around a corner like Stink and oh yeah: I've put 160,000 miles on it, (yes I've rebuilt the motor). I just finished a 6000-mile trip around the States on it and also does Trackdays quite capably. Dependable, stable, and fits me like a glove. Best bike ever made... wish I could try the 14.

    Regret selling my K2 but now on my 3rd GSX1400. I had a blue screen on my FE model and always thought I was seeing police lights as the sun reflected off the chrome headlight. Not sure I agree with your comment about twin exhausts. The K2 looks great with standard pipe’s but Suzuki fitted 4 into 1 as standard on the FE. Your right about going for blue and white, just looks right on this bike.

    H Dan I own a 2001 for over a year now and I am still doing stuff to her, I have left my stock indicators on and just changed the dated orange lenses for white to make it look more modern, I to have pretty much polished the hell out of all the aluminium on mine including peg holders and swing arm, mine is professionally painted in metallic bright red as I wanted to be different than most. I wouldn't put the puppies on the bike I did that to mine and my hands went numb even quicker, I have since took them off, and no more numb hands. Anyway mate your 14 looks awesome for her age and your be a fool to sell her as these bikes are going up in price everyday, they really are fast becoming a real classic bike. Take care mate and ride safe :)

    Corrosion on the underside of the downpipes in my opinion is accelerated a lot by the very short front mudguard.......same on my ZRX1100, so I used a carbon fibre fender extender fixed with Tigerseal to avoid poxy bolt/rivet holes and that made a huge difference without detracting from the styling by much at all. P.S. As for colour schemes on the ZRX, yes Eddie Lawson is hugely popular, but I prefer the Firecracker Red colour from the GPZ range.

      @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My first bike was '00 GSX600F which was great, i could ride all day, 1000 miles a day is the most i did. Surely a bit slow but no problems, pleasant ride in all speeds and that bike taught me to really use the handlebar at speed.
    Now i'm running CBR1100XX which is great for going slightly faster but after two hours im done due to the riding position.

    And here in Sweden the insurance is mutch more for the Yamaha.

      @@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes Here in Sweden there is not a big difference in price between those 2. I think the bandit 1250 is a better choice instead for the xjr and a big plus is the fuel injection instead of the carburators that was on the xjr for to many years.

    "Comparable torque" confused me. 75 lb-ft for the XJR in a thin peak around 6200 rpm and 94 peak for the GSX at around 5k rpm, with more than 80 across the whole fun range from 3k to 6k rpm. XJR is generally gorgeous but this blue and white GSX just might be gorgeouser.

      Guess what? We are revisiting the GSX1400 next Month! with a ride along and some other videos coming soon too. I just had to buy another. But the GSX1400 has around 126nm Torque compared with the other 3 in this class.

      @@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes You're inspiring me to get one too. Can't wait to see your "new" one. I'm 57, had a lot of bikes and a cool old school GSX now sounds just perfect. I got rid of a ZZR1100 as it was generally no fun unless doing illegal speed, the Goldwing had to go as it couldn't do fun stuff well and if I want to chew up lots of straight and flat kilometers here in Australia I'll take the car. I'm looking at a gen 1 in blue as it's the cheapest one on our local market. It's done 150,000 k's by a now 70 year old man who has cared for it from new, so should be fine. I'm already planning on painting in the blue and white and definitely keeping the twin mufflers!

    I completely disagree regarding the colours of these classics. I have seen a black GSX 1400 and to me it looked miles better than the Blue and white same with the CB 1300 in silver vs the white. Obviously it's all very subjective but that's the point isn't it.

    • @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes
      @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally agree Matt, my point was the Blue and White seems to be the most popular Colour, (the same for the CB1300 being Red and White) and those do tend to command higher prices, but Black does always look great on a bike, DelBoys Garage is doing a series on a Black GSX right now which looks lovely, but for me..... still needs to be B+W 😁

    • @GBMatthew07
      @GBMatthew07 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes Yeah each to their own. See for me I like the CB 1300 in silver as it suits all the different metals on the bike along with the blacks it gives it a monochrome look. Whereas I think the red and White version looks odd almost toy like. I get that it's their respective colours etc. and you are completely right they do command a higher price but, for me they are not always the best looking.
