I bought one a couple of months ago with 10000 miles on and it fantastic, I researched many reviews before my purchase and I would like to thank all the guys who convinced me to go and buy. A short time after my friend also bought one and he’s chuffed to pieces

TH-cam's useful too in providing owner reviews too like you say so I'm happy if I played a small part in your choice of bike. There are some Gixer 1400 Facebook sites too to keep tabs on any issues & for general chat on the bike. Thats really low mileage on your new purchase plus they are reliable anyway. Enjoy!! 👍
I like these bikes too but haven't ridden one yet. Are the forks sturdy, or could they do with newer upgrade? That's my biggest concern on any bike really, handling. I imagine these machines to be utter torque monsters, so fancy it on those grounds.
.My 2005 GSX14 is now approaching 90K miles. Have had to replace two regulator/rectifiers during its life, though has been otherwise fantastic. The engine performs just like it has always done - with consistent annual oil changes, has proven bulletproof. I never tire of riding the torque curve through all the gears - a special motorbike.
Thanks for sharing ur experience with your K5 Spencer & 90k miles wow. Mine wouldn't fire up recently strangly after getting a Suzuki service. Turned out it was just the power lead under the seat had come off. But yes, Japanese bikes amongst the most reliable. Do u have some decent pipes on yours? It sounds great with Scorpions.
I'd refer to what the MCN review article said back at the time referring to the 1400 as the biggest & blingiest of the retros with the most low down torque by a decent margin & even standing up to the abuse of a trackday. It is a heavy bike at 229kg & I'd agree with the remark from MCN that it has a 'rhino's feel about it. For me personally I wouldn't say it was 'flickable' through hairpin bends for the reasons stated above but there may be people that could throw it around more than me!

Hi Brian, yes it's reassuring when we hear just how many tens of thousands these bikes do, Japanese bikes generally do tend to be reliable don't they. It's great to hear your personal experience & preference for this bike. It seems to have a big fan base. Whilst at the MCN bike show last month I spoke to one of the Suzuki staff members on the stand, he said don't get rid of my K1, eventually it'll get more sought after. Lol I know what you mean Leighton. I just took it in for a service at a Suzuki dealer & been offered a test ride on a GSX S1000GT which I'll be going on a test ride soon. I think I won't have the guts to trade the 1400 in as they just don't make them like that anymore. Thanks for sharing you're equal fondness 👍
I know that feeling. I bought an absolute mint xjr 1300 yesterday. I sold an 04 in 2009 for £3800 I bought this for £3800 on an 03. I don't think it'll lose any money.. I was looking at 1200 gs's last week, but, i knew id lose money. Plus like your say, irresistible in all there glory.
Wow sounds like u got that irresistible desire too! Just don't make bikes like that anymore do they Joe. Yeah I think they will hold their value, look after it, fair weather & a that! Enjoy 😉

Riding this bike takes me back to raw motorcycling, no electronic wizardry going on here. A pure thunderous muscle bike which u do have to keep tamed on the twisties!!

Thanks Simon, yes it's got the Ermax radiater side covers & belly pan. Blends nicely with the colour scheme of the bike in navy blue. Took it for a ride recently but discovered a screw in the back tyre 😖. So another cost added to the service!
Great looking bike. I've had my 2005 model for 6 years and still love ridding it. Although traffic is starting to wind me up. Seems I'm not far from you either so might see you out and about, I'm only in Kettering. I recognized the bike shop you bought the GSX from.
Hi Michael, K&H in Market Harborough was the dealer I got the bike from, I found them quite good, no issues. Definitely is a bike to keep hold of the Gixer 1400. A Suzuki rep at the NEC bike show advised me to keep hold of it. Yeah the beast of a bike prefers the freedom of the road & some open spaces. Perhaps we could meet up & take them around the Rutland Loop one weekend in the summer?

I showed him this vid of how you got the GSX from KH motorcycles and a couple weeks ago we went for a ride on the bikes and dad suggested going there as he hadn't been before. He saw a bandit 1250s and was tempted to get it and took him a week to decide but eventually, he decided to buy it and today we went and picked it up lol. Not quite as torquey as the GSX but it still pulls like a train!
Certainly is a special bike, just something about it especially with the Scorpion exhausts on, just sounds great 👍. Its a head Turner & always gets looks. Just had mine serviced at my local Suzuki dealer it seems to be running better now. Roll on Spring & maybe the odd dry autumn/winters day!
I've had the K6 for over 12 years had many bikes before but this one is a keeper. Did Spain and Portugal motorcycle rallies this year on it grunty power in spades.

my family got to own a suzuki GSX 1400 because my dad reversed into it at our restaurant haha instead of paying for the cosmetics that would have roughly added up to 2k he made a deal to buy it for 3.5k

Nice vid. I like the look of them and do like Suzuki but they engine just doesn't tickle my fancy at 105bhp for a 1402cc. They should have tweaked it just a bit and got even 115bhp or 120bhp then if you put a can, air filter and power commander on then you might be sitting at 122-127bhp and make it breathe a bit better and sing out to about 10,000 rpm. 8 k redline is just too lazy for a motorbike.

I have Scorpion pipes & a power commander but like you say I wouldn't of minded a slight increase in bhp. Perhaps it's reflective of the time when it was built? One of my bikes on my list to purchase present bikes are my Green/blue/white 1990 ZXR750H2 which I've owned for the last 27 years completed a full restoration 7 years ago which you can see it on my channel - turning to near bus pass age treated myself to a very nice 2022 BMW S1000RR M sport that thing is insanely fast but loving every minute of it just need the weather to improve and get rid of the bloody salt, knocking on the door of spring so good times ahead. Hopefully to add the a GSX1400 to my collection in the future don't mind if one needs a bit of TLC. Great video new sub ride safe me old mucker 😉👍

Got an 02 blue and white (the fastest) 1400. We go abroad on it every year, two up, all the luggage and still effortless. Great bike

I wanted one but bought a Honda hornet 900 from a small dealer in Hinkley leicester. Love the Hornet but still crave for a GSX 1400
Both nice bikes, they Gixer doesn't appear much in dealers these days. You'll have some fun on the Hornet 👍

Don’t judge until you’ve ridden one, it’s the torque (more than a Diavel) that’ll give 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, not slow !

One of my bikes on my list to purchase present bikes are my Green/blue/white 1990 ZXR750H2 which I've owned for the last 27 years completed a full restoration 7 years ago which you can see it on my channel - turning to near bus pass age treated myself to a very nice 2022 BMW S1000RR M sport that thing is insanely fast but loving every minute of it just need the weather to improve and get rid of the bloody salt, knocking on the door of spring so good times ahead. Hopefully to add the a GSX1400 to my collection in the future don't mind if one needs a bit of TLC. Great video new sub ride safe me old mucker 😉👍
