The most amazing thing about all of this is that you (likely as much as the majority of one piece fans) are probably enjoying this arc more than average and it's missing 90% of the main cast Oda is a madman.
Gum-Gum Bullet is the same move he defeated Usopp with. I know he's used it against enemies as well, but I just like the idea that he resorts to that move when he has no choice but to fight friends.

Coby's determination to even confront the man who inspired him to dream again, Whitebeard continually taking it upon himself to carry the burden for his sons and the future generation and Luffy showing his potential through the use of haki infront of the world's big players are all such great moments. Not to mention the ending and having Grap confront Luffy...
I do agree that the Garp line was nice but to say that to a kid is bothering me a bit. If Ace was a little bit older that would've been an insightful line. Anyways Ace's thoughts right now are heartbreaking. All of his life, all he wanted was the acknowledgement of his life's worth. The fact that at the start of the arc he did not want to be saved at all. He even asked Garp to unalive him because he himself thinks he's not worth it. But right now he is watching all of his family/comrades dying for the sake of saving his life. Right now, he is watching the answer to his question. It's tragic but it makes him happy
For any faults of the anime adaptation, things like that tracking shot of the marine soldier getting hit by Whitebeard’s move and getting launched in the air are an insanely cool addition
Pretty much zero percent chance luffy can beat garp. Garp is above or on par with the admirals. Gotta remember he was gold rogers rival back in the day.
Garp is old. He might match the other admirals equally for some time but stamina wise he should run out before them. Of course the added experience would work for his favor, but the admirals are all very experienced at this point as well so who knows if there'd be any meaningful advantage for Garp in that regard.
