My interpretation: The girl in the song is feeling extremely pressured by society. Parents and teachers tell her that she can gain "happiness" by doing things like getting high grades and finding a good job. However, a lot of their expectations for her are too high. She feels like she has to please everyone and do what they say 24/7 in order to achieve "happiness". Whenever she does something wrong, it makes her think that she is stupid. Even if she does it right, it won't change anything, and she'll still be stuck acting as a slave for others. Nobody ever tries to really help her with her stress, instead simply saying that she can totally do it all by herself, and that she doesn't need to ask others for help. Along with this, she is also socially awkward. She feels self-conscious about her appearance (hence her desire to become "sexier") and just feels confused about the concepts of love and friends. The world around her remains completely oblivious to how stressed-out and hopeless she feels. She keeps trying to please everyone, but eventually gets so stressed that she kills herself.

I think that the first part about the parents and teachers telling her she can gain 'happiness' is right but I think instead of the expectations being too high it just raises her stress level even more and like you said nobody tries to help with her stress so it ends with her killing herself.

the thing is, this is real and happens to many teens, especially with mental health conditions. I know how it feels, I have ADHD and am on the autism spectrum, so I tend to get overwhelmed easily. When I have 3 or more homework assignments to do, I get overwhelmed, and my mind loses its sense of reason. Expectations take over, and I feel like I have to do it all in one go, with no breaks, and it has to be perfect. This causes me stress, so I play games to relive that stress. But my brain is telling me "Your being lazy, what a disappointment." which causes me to try to work again, and then it repeats. I enter a downward spiral, and it continues until I start to have a mental breakdown. And when other people see somebody in a mental breakdown without knowing about their mental condition, they would just think that the person is faking it for attention. It's a sad truth in the world...

Even if the people I’m around are generally positive towards me, what’s going on in my brain is completely different.
