    I never thought I'd see a queen beheaded in this day and age, but putting it back on the body seems to have revived her.
    Seriously though, beautiful work. I wish older ladies and wrinkles were done more often.

    Interesting that when you took the face off, the mold looked more like her now than the painted face did. They had the right structure they just painted it wrong

      I think so too. Out of the box I think she didn’t even look like her younger self, but in a lot of ways more like her mother back in the day.

    It's a sad statement about just how ridiculous 'beauty culture' has become when a 96 year old woman can't be shown to have wrinkles. You did amazing work as always and she looks beautifully regal with her new face!

    • @ageofgrifter

    • @LouisejessicaD
      @LouisejessicaD 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ageofgrifter I feel like that was the case with the Professor McGonagall doll a few years back. It still kind of looked like Maggie Smith, just a much simpler basic version.

    • @GamerNerdess
      @GamerNerdess 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      They used to paint royalty paintings the same way as well. They would avoid wrinkles, small pox pits, age spots, etc. It's not a modern day thing.
      Edit: They used to also paint women like how we use filters and editing tools. When pictures started, photographers would take the negatives and trim off a woman's waist to make them look thinner with the hourglass shape.

    • @nickolasmarmaras
      @nickolasmarmaras 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Be real. There was nothing in the world concerning her image that she wouldn't approve or disapprove of personally. It's clearly her choice and not the beauty industry's or matel's.

    The face mold itself looked so much better once the original face had been removed, like more of the features became visible just from that alone. It's really a shame dolls like these - especially mattel dolls - can't have better faces straight out of the box, since it really does the physical aspects of these kinds of dolls a disservice. Your repaint is such an excellent likeness too, was a joy to watch the process as always.
