    I keep mentioning Disney in this video but apparently the 1994 Thumbelina movie was created by Warner Brothers! Thank you for correcting me! ❤ It's funny that I googled 'Thumbelina disney' multiple times while working on this doll and I always got the pictures I wanted, nothing seemed off to me :D

    • @faydreamsmystic4
      @faydreamsmystic4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Yeah, I had to look it up to be sure of which company actually made it. I knew it wasn't Disney but I thought it was Fox, like the Anastasia 1997 film. If that had been the case then Disney would've technically owned it, if not produced it. But it was Warner B instead. 🙃

    • @allisonbrommer7208
      @allisonbrommer7208 ปีที่แล้ว +44

      While it was originally produced by Warner Brothers in 1994 it was sold and rereleased by 20th Century Fox in 2002. In 2019 when Disney acquired 21st Century Fox, they got the rights to Thumbelina and can even be found on Disney +.

      Also with Thumbelina and Ariel sharing a voice actress, it’s understandable to think it’s Disney!

    • @derekedwardson382
      @derekedwardson382 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      It was animated by Don Bluth, the same guy who did All Dogs Go to Heaven and the Secret of Nihm. Easy mistake! Excellent doll!! ❤️

    • @M1ster_Teal
      @M1ster_Teal ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Common mistake. Mostly cuz, though it was distributed by WB, it was produced by the animation studio created by Don Bluth, a former Disney animator, who, at the time (a time prior to the Disney Renaissance of the late 80's/early 90's), felt the classic magic & fairytale style was lost at the mouse studio & left to create his own films, such as "Little Foot", "Fievel" or "Anastasia", in the style of the old classic Disney films...

    You could use the other doll to make her prince or some other little character, maybe a little mushroom fairy or flowers, if it was a little boy it would be adorable too, the Little Thumb or a little forest-themed dwarf with berries, vines, and leaves...

    I was just reminded of one of my favorite movies when I was younger,Fern Gully. You could probably use one of these small dolls for Chrysta ! And she’s a fairy that lives in a rainforest, so you could possibly use the static grass for something with her as well.

    I've been inspired by your channel and I turn Barbie and Ken into DC superheroes. I found that worbla is a bit thick for that scale and also not smooth. I found however that if I warm up the worbla, put it between two silicone mats, and then roll it out, that it not only thins it, but it also smoothes it out. The accessories I make now look less bulky and are smooth. Not sure if you've ever tried it, but you might like the result. Thanks for all your hard work and creations!!

    With regard to the size of the doll's head. It IS interesting that it matches both Barbie and Monster High. However, I recall that you use a shrinking method to make oversized heads more proportionate for specific projects. Maybe you can shrink this Queen of Hearts head to work better with her tiny body. My only criticism is that I think you should have added high- and lowlights to the doll's red hair. It would have given her a depth that the solid, unrelenting red lacks. I'd've loved to see a lighter red/gold streak in it to show that she spends a lot of time in the sunshine. However, I love the outfit, and think it's absolutely perfect for this project.

    This was adorable. Never thought I'd feel jealous of a doll but as a ginger that can't tan I can say I am absolutely jealous of this tiny ginger doll with a gorgeous tan. I love the small doll repaints you do they're so cute. Would you ever try to repaint a Polly Pocket doll? I had one when I was a kid that was a bit longer than my finger (still not quite Thumbelina), the one I had wasn't poseable and its hair was made if plastic but I think it'd be something to try. The only other small doll I had was a miniature Bratz doll but I already know you'll hate it. 😄 out of curiosity, do you think you'll ever try to repaint a porcelain doll? I know they're expensive and fragile but I think it'd be interesting to see if you can do it justice.
    Live your work as always! ❤

    This is my favorite pair of eyes that you have ever done. Absolutely stunning. It’s a pleasure to watch your skills improve with every new doll that you do.
    Also, if I can offer a tip for future freckled dolls, as someone who has freckles: They tend to be more prevalent in the parts of the body that get sun exposure. So the face, neck, arms, legs, and sometimes the shoulders, will have more freckles than the abdomen and chest, as well as the back.

    She is so cute!!! I love the way the flower looks - it reminds me of the peonies in front of my childhood house. I've only ever seen people use a static grass applicator when they're also running electricity through the glue to make it stand up straight, but I was pleasantly surprised by how wild and natural it turned out without that! I actually prefer your grass a little bit - it looks so organic while still giving the effect of individual blades of grass. I'm no expert on static grass, but if you wanted to look up the other way in the future, it makes for a sort of manicured lawn look, since each blade is standing up perfectly straight. Maybe better for a larger scale though - I really like how natural your way looks on this piece!

    I love that Thumbelina movie you've mentioned, but it's actually a Don Bluth film like Anastasia and All Dogs Go To Heaven not a Disney Film. Easy mix up though. Back in that era Don Bluth was the only person to really kind of give Disney a run for their money in the animation market.

      yes, you are right, I already wrote a pinned comment about it. I remembered it wrong! and google gave me all the reference pictures I needed when I looked for Disney's Thumbelina, so nothing felt off to me :D At least I learned something new today!

      @@PoppenAtelier It wasn't until I was way older that I realized Don Bluth and Disney were different. Goes to show it's a common of a mistake it is with even Google not batting an eye. Like I even knew it wasn't Disney but when you said Disney's Thumbelina I knew immediately what movie you were talking about and got flashbacks of dancing frogs and the classic hot guy hair cut of the 90s Don gave all his male leads in all his movies.

    I love these new dolls coming out that have stockier figures rather than the regular thin Barbie or Monster High dolls.
    Also she’s gorgeous! I’m gonna go rewatch Thumbelina now haha loved it as a kid and you’ve really gotten me all nostalgic, so I need to watch it now 🥰

    Always calming to see your videos after a hectic day. Thank you!
    How about making a garden doll next? A cute one, or one with grass growing on it? Or maybe use the grass as fur? Looking forward to see whatever you come up with!

    She looks so cute! I think a smaller head would make her more beautiful, but she's very cute as she is.

    Beautiful! Yes please do another mini doll like this. I always love the ones with freckles by the way. It makes them come to life more I think and makes them more unique!

    Please please please keep making these beautiful dioramas for your dolls 😍 you are simply incredible at it. All your dolls have a story, so ostensibly they all have a world in which they belong or rather a scene. It really sets your artistry apart. How on earth you have avoided being gainfully employed as a set designer or something of that ilk is beyond me. You are so very very talented, keep making, keep giving them stories and please make more dioramas, you are just brilliant at them. Peace upon you xxxx
    Edit: oh and I love Romanian Thumbelina (its just what her colouring reminded me of with her red hair and tan skin and green eyes, so beautiful)

    She’s gorgeous.,she has such a darling little face ,and that hair is such a beautiful colour.. The rose stand is so delicate and you adding the grass and lavender finished it off perfectly,so sh can sit there or stand there for photos. She’s very different for you but has all your trademarks on her , as she’s so beautifully done.I love this one 🥰

    This is one of my favorites so far. It would be so cute if you did a tiny doll version of Tinker bell. With your style I know it would be just so cute!
