- The Bratz Challenge has become viral on TH-cam lately and I just had to respond with a new very radical Bratz doll transformation and face repaint because I'm actually not a huge fan of her original look.

Oh, I can tell from her accent that her native language must be a Slavic one, but I always thought she was Romanian who grew up in Belgium. I think there is a video where she talks about it more, but I could be very wrong. My sister speaks Russian, and her accent is good enough that she can fool people in Moscow or St. Petersburg, but I can only speak a few words here or there....

identity crisis Nice!!!! Yeah, sometimes it all depends on who’s teaching you the language, too! I speak French and have learned from a true Parisian, so when I went to Paris everyone commented on my perfect accent! However, when speaking in Brittany/Normandie I got corrected on pronunciations I never had a problem with just because of in country differences! I find those differences fascination as a foreign language major!
I didn't realize how absurdly huge her head is until she didn't have cartoon feature. With a realistic face, her head was spooky huge 🤣🤣🤣

These particular BratZ have even bigger heads than the 2001 molds and their body’s are clonky :/ I LOVE BratZ but only the OG
I feel frustrated. I can only imagine a child receiving this kit with high hopes of creating beautiful things.
If an artist, skilled in doing exactly what this kit claims to do cannot create anything polished how can a child hope to either?
Thank you for attempting to use the paints, stencils and stickers provided to demonstrate how inadequate they are. It was a fascinating review- even if you did not intend to do one.
I mean the way young children play isn't very polished, I think kids would still be able to enjoy this kit. There are definitely worse kits out here
Yes, I hated things like that as a kid, because I really gave my best and if I did´nt like what I created, I started anew. And realizing that it maybe is´nt even possible to get a better result after trying again and again for a felt eternity was super frustrating....
As a kid my end result would look like Frankenstein’s bride with this kit , no artist here lol

There are plus sized dolls? I thought all of them were unrealistic
It just that almost none doll repainter channel use barbies... most of the time are ever after high and monster high because have the best face and body structure but i hope that she at some point would do a plus size barbie into another aesthetic doll
Maybe if she got a doll already plus sized? From what I've seen its hard to make the usual monster high doll with thicker parts because you cant build around the joints without either sacrificing the range of motion or making them look like a balloon animal. The joints would have to be large already and the stomach area would have to likely have a joint as well so the doll can bend and be sat without the belly getting in the way of the thighs or making the belly look weird to accommodate it. Plastic doesnt have any elasticity like our skin so a doll would have trouble with normal poses. That's why most thicker dolls like those LOL dolls have their arms flared out a bit to the side to accommodate the body.

Did you ever see those made in fabric? Think my kids got them around 2005 or 2006. They were pretty cool, and bigger than the plastic doll, you actually could undress them and take of their shoes. I don't remember where they were bought, it was a present they got.

I completely agree with this stance on Bratz. I had 1 when I was younger and not only was she disproportional, but she broke super easily her clothing would rip with the slightest tug.
Honestly It's so nice to know other people share my opinion on Bratz. I feel like being in the doll community and not liking a specific brand of doll gets you shunned.

I tried some ibizu bodies, only disadvantage is that shipping and transfear cost from Japan tend to be pretty expensive, but it was ok when i ordered a bunch of them at same time, i was not dissapointed, only thing is that i should had choosed bigger heads for them.
Unfortunatly Bratz hawe realy awful bodies.
@@sheep1ewe Hopefully Mattel brings out new jointed dolls again in the future. Or, at least start a line of blank bodies for customizers... I feel like I should bring that up to them... I like this idea a lot... 🤔
@@bunbun25055 Yes, i want bodies with double jointed knees and jointed upperbodys, but there are currently no such models i know about one can get in the regular store, but when i ordered a box of various Obitzus they where in fact cheaper than MH or EaH dolls and the quality are totaly superiour, only thing is the custom import laws realy XXXX in my country, it's like 50% penalty for some items here all in total for private import sometime...
I ordered mine direct from Japan.

I loooooved brats growing up. They were so punky and fab whereas barbies were much more classy (at least to me). I would have loved to see how you would have done the face up on a regular bratz face without the plastic surgery, because they have such a weird face mold. This was so stunning!!

The original Bratz, before there was any media associated with them, were made by someone who worked at Mattel and tried to get them to update their look. They immediately sold like hotcakes because they had a style and attitude more like actual beautiful women young girls saw around them or on TV, unlike Barbies. They're more urban styled (most of the US population is urban, and pretty much all population growth is), more ethnic, and just generally more like what pop and movie stars looked like. Also they actually had thick lips like the majority of non-white real girls, unlike any of the Barbies at the time. If you even look up "Bratz styled makeup," you'll see looks that are identical to what most Instagram and TH-camr beauty people wear today on average; there's nothing obvious that indicates they're specifically Bratz-like.
Then Mattel went after them as based on their own work, despite the fact that the creator had worked on them at home on his own. So they essentially shut down the original Bratz production. If there's a Bratz doll made now, it's different and undoubtedly not the same exact design. But AFAIK, they're still designed based on mainstream contemporary beauty culture and how most women in it look (pear shaped, thick lips, etc.), as opposed to a more 1950's housewife inspired softness and pure whiteness.
So yes, it's about taste, but it's also about culture, ethnicity, race, and contemporary styles in modern media. She started off looking like she depicted a typical stylish contemporary urban American girl with a background from 5 or 6 different cultures. The makeover here makes her look like a suburban 30 year old from the 80's or 90's who grew up speaking Polish or Russian. Which is awesome and beautiful, but not simply about taste. I was seriously interested in a makeover where she still looked modern and urban, just in your own style, but that's just me. Your amazing talent and hard work are always a joy to watch, regardless.

Honestly, I feel like the end result is way scarier than the original. Bratz proportions are bad enough, but at lest they're stylized and cartoony. Trying to make those proportions work with a realistic face-up is just... too weird.

The eyes needed to be bigger to accommodate for the large lips and still-large cheeks/jaw. I could see that it would be weird the moment those eyes were sketched on. Otherwise, everything else looks great, even a realistic but larger eye (semi-realistic) would have been just fine. So, overall the proportions of the doll are still off, making it look weird.
I think the head on its own is a massive improvement. Where this one gets funky that the body is still too far off. The original paint looked ugly as hell, but at least it could be passed as a nightmare creature. I think the repainted head on a better body would be much better. It's the body that has to go.

One of my friends in kindergarten had a Bratz doll and i remember taking her shoes off and finding out that she had no feet 😂
Yeah it was so weird but hey at least they were able to wear sneakers and not just heels 😂
One of my favorite Bratz dolls that I owned was a Sasha doll with a beach theme. She had small feet with cute little white flipflops and LITTLE BARE FEET. I liked the feet so much I put them on all the dolls, even when the skin didn't match lol.
Bratz dolls some people like them and others don’t. I started off not liking them but now I cannot stop buying them. The joy I receive from my numerous collection of dolls of all makes is tremendous. Your repaints of dolls are excellent. Love them ! :)
