    The way you felt about Vichy is the exact same way that I feel about Cosrx Snail Mucin Essence. I don't get all the hype and it didn't do anything for my skin.

      That't too bad, it's doubly disappointing when something so popular doesn't work well!

    As someone with BAD Rosacea I can tell You that the Vinchy Hyaluronic acid 89 Serum is WHAT changed MY Skin! I also use the Vinchy Water spray in a Can before I put My Products on My Face! I use Prescription Tretinoin Cream as well, so I use VERY Good Skincare products, but the Vinchy is a Staple in MY Skincare routine! I also LOVE The elmt SKIN ACTIVATING SOLUTION Toner! It's a Super Toner! I highly Recommend ANYONE to use these Products!

    Fitting you should ask about second chances. Got my pycnogenol about a week ago and I think it is making a difference plumping and fading hyperpigmentation. But then I decided to give the Missha Time revolution a second chance also (was very meh the first time I used it) and the past 2 days the combination of these two seems to have me waking up with glowing, even-toned skin. Still feels too early to make definitive claims but I'm really excited by the potential. Thanks for the great video Kelly!

      Oh wow that's good news, both are great products! Sometimes it's about timing too, maybe your skin really needs and appreciates something like the time revolution essence right now. Glad you were able to give it a second go!

    I love simple and boring products, its only thing that doesnt break me out in tropical weather. I use vanicream cleanser, glossier niacinimide serum and mineral 89 as my moisturizer under a gel sunscreen.

    I can totally relate to the mineral water thing! I have rosacea and a chronic impaired moisture barrier and therefore super sensitive skin, and after using mineral water for a month now it's been amazing in helping my skin. It's less red overall and less reactive which is amazing. Avene products work a little better for me than the la Roche posay products, but I tend to use both. Avene products are one of the only ones I've tried that never irritate me. ♥️

    The Missha artemisia toner mist gave me small pimples but it was quite expensive so i might give it another try. Thank you for this.

    Egyptian Magic All Purpose skin cream is my second chance product. I used to hate the greasiness it left on my skin so wearing it in the daytime is not an option. However, I noticed that Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate cream has a mattifying effect, so I combined the two together. I warm the Egyptian Magic cream in my hands and added Illyoon on it and massage them into my skin. My skin on tretinoin loves it. My skin stays moisturized way into the night. And I my skin isn't shiny or greasy.

    • @KellyDriscoll

    The Element product is one of the very few that doesn’t irritate my super sensitive skin. It might not do a lot, but it doesn’t piss my skin off either. I’m relatively new to the skincare game so I welcome any suggestions for extremely sensitive skin.

    I had a little hope that my skin might not like Rovectin anti-irritation as it's a little expensive but it worked amazingly on my dry and sensitive skin

      That's so good it worked well for you! I wish the price was a little less, I agree it's expensive but hopefully will last a very long time!

    I need to give the illioon ato cream a second chance. I thought it gave me tiny bumps all over my skin, but it was probably something oily that I was using at the time. I have since realised that I probably have a mild rosacea and my skin seems to prefer gel type creams, which is really hard since I also have dry skin. That’s a really unholy combination that is not catered for.
    I have everything else down as far as skin care goes but I just need a good moisturiser.

    • @lorainemcgillivray77

      Hi I have rosacea and super dry skin, but fortunately I can use really thick creams etc with no issues. I have type one rosacea though and don't have the pimples of type 2. Have you considered using two moisturisers? - a gel/cream in the butterfly zone and something richer around the edges where more of the dryness is/without pimples. obviously both creams last longer used just in specific areas even if the initial outlay is more. Just a thought instead of keeping trying to find just one to treat both things. I hope that helps. Rosacea is very complicated and we all have different triggers, needs and issues - even within this broad disease process just called rosacea.

    • @hannal5512
      @hannal5512 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My rosacea is very mild and manageable but heavy creams make me flush. and red wine and sun. La Rosche-Posay cica balm is my saviour. It’s occlusive but somehow not suffocating. It calms and cools the skin. However I’d like to find something that is not quite so slugging especially for daytime.

      @@hannal5512 Hi Hanna if the LRP cicaplast works for you then try one of their toleraine face creams for daytime - they have a few different versions. Avene tolerance cream is also really gentle and not too heavy - their line is available in a riche and light version. hope that helps.

    I remember having bought Rovectin's barrier cream for face and body in a small tube years ago, only to end up having it as a nappy cream for my niece (then 2 years old) thereafter when I did not really use it a lot.....lol...

      @@KellyDriscoll Rovectin products tend to really smell funky....maybe because of the essential oils in them. I recall having tested their sunscreens at the drugstore before, and the smell was off-putting.....sadly.

    Vichy and COSRx snail mucin cream didn't work for me not even in the second chance. Sticky and tight skin

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no, that's too bad! But luckily there is plenty of other skincare out there for you!

    • @AwakingOceanborn
      @AwakingOceanborn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you still own the CosRx cream have you tried using it as a lotion? I don’t want to make you use something you hate but just in case you have a tub of cream you don’t know what to do with I found several uses bc I had a similar experience: as a buffer for adapalene so my face wouldn’t fall off, kind of in a moisturiser sandwich: snail cream-your preferred retinoid-your preferred moisturiser. Or if you don’t use retinoids you could use it in winter underneath your moisturiser for extra hydration. Or if it’s summer where you are and your moisturiser is a bit too thick now you can try mixing a bit of the snail cream in to thin it out (I did this with my winter moisturiser and the honey sleeping mask and it worked wonders).

    • @SmurfieK
      @SmurfieK 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also wasn't impressed with the snail cream, what I did was mix it with a light toner to have a more hydrating toner to use before my actual cream. That way it doesn't go to waste and maybe still does something.

    It difficult to pinpoint the one product that is casing congestion when you are using a wide variety of products. I do not know if it is the joseon gliw serum or the missha first treatment essence causing my skin to glow. Does good molecules discoloration serum work as good as paula’s choice?

    • @KellyDriscoll
      @KellyDriscoll  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I personally prefer the Paula's choice because it's a little gentler on my skin but still giving me great results. The Good Molecules is also a great product but I found the formula a little irritating (not a concern if you don't have sensitive skin). It's not really a question of which one it better but rather which one is best for you? GM is more budget friendly, PC is more expensive but both have good results!

  • @AwakingOceanborn

    I am going to make a very gross comparison regarding the rovectin cream: you know when you wash a plastic food container that had oily/greasy food with cold water and it *looks* clean but then you touch it and you can feel the thinnest waxy layer? Yeah that’s what was going through my mind when you kept trying to describe how it felt on your face.
    I’ve been looking for a replacement for the CosRx balancium comfort whatever cream for years because I love the texture but oh my god the bergamot oil, and I thought the rovectin could be it buuuut no. I do like medium/thick creams (same ones you mentioned actually), and even face oils on top of them but I already had an experience of my skincare making me feel “shellac-ed” because of a moisturiser I don’t want to risk it.
