    FYI, Rovectin has been in the process of getting rid of essential oils from all their products for those of us who are allergic. My favorite brand- great for eczema, sensitive, dry, and dehydrated skin. I recommend the Anti- Irritant Barrier Repair Ultra Cream (and Lotion) and the Barrier Repair Face & Body Cream. The brand started off supplying hospitals and medical clinics with the Anti-Irritant line to cancer patients undergoing chemo (he saw his sister go through it)

    I think Rovectin’s Clean line is meant to be easily recyclable (hence the super minimalist packaging) instead of what the American market thinks of when they see the word “clean”.

    The cica toner, the cica spot treatment and the cica sleeping mask are my holy grails. I can NEVER switch those out 😂 I tried and my skin didn’t look the same.
    It’s sooo calming AND it helps with acne and dark spots? I don’t specifically need an AHA or BHA with this.

      I'm surprised by how underrated that toner is! I'm leaning towards buying fewer individually wrapped sheet masks and instead continuing to make my own. It's absolutely perfect for that use!

    This is an old video so Idk if you will see my comment, but I believe rovectin promotes itself as "clean" because of the clean easy to recycle packaging. At least that's what I have gathered from the marketing pitches. Thanks for another great upload. ❤️

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole also, I have to say how epic your recent video was about that C3 church. I'm close to 50 years old and actually yelled "fuck yes!!" when you were speaking about your LGBTIQA+ journey and the abuse of that church and others like them. I grew up in a very Catholic family and am lesbian. I love God but despise religion and all the damage it's done to so many people. I live in Australia and in 2017 the federal government asked the population to vote for whether marriage equality should be allowed for gay and lesbian couples. The amount of homophobia and evil cruelty that was generated for months before we all went to vote was appalling. Billboards in my town were telling me and my kids that we weren't a real family, were wrong and unnatural, blah blah. It had a big impact on my kids. Thank goodness Aussies voted in favour of marriage equality but we shouldn't have had to go through that public debate and vitriol in the first place. I live in the "bible belt" of Australia and it can be really startling when I step outside my bubble to interact with bigots. Ironically, I'm a long-term foster mum since 2007 to 4 kids who were conceived and abused by their hetro bio-parents. So yeah........ 😕

    I haven't tried any products from the line. I like the transparency of the ingredients. I do spritz my hyaluronic acid! I may look for a try it set. It sounds amazing. I agree with you about the white cast. I could see it in your hand. I am like you. I can't use chemical sunscreen. Pain in the you know what. My son and husband have no problem with them. My Son has been raised on sunscreen. He uses it really more than I do! I know. 😳. He worked outside for 10 years and he has been able to not get sun damage. I wish I could just spray whatever on me too! Your skin looks amazing. Thanks for the review. Have a great week ❌⭕❌

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Right, assuming someone does not have a sensitivity to chemical filters, I can't imagine choosing physical filters over those. They're so much more cosmetically elegant! However, that allergy/sensitivity is very real for some of us. I did have some luck with CERTAIN filters, so perhaps someday I'll explore those further. But it's a scary concept as I've had some pretty severe reactions to other chemical filters 🙁

    I 100% agree about Clean Beauty and clear labeling/marketing.
    Wrap a hair tie or elastic band around the pump so it doesn't go down as far. It stops from over dispensing. I hope that makes sense if not google "child proof soap dispenser hack"

      Oh hey, that's an excellent idea thank you! You know what's funny: I was just thinking about how "life hacks" have become a ridiculous concept these days (for overall good reason - I've seen enough "hacks" involving putting baking soda and lemon on the skin 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️). I LOVE Rovectin's cicacare toner. It's the most soothing toner for my troubled skin. Sometimes I will use multiple layers of this stuff before anything else. In fact, I enjoy this toner even more than I enjoy their treatment lotion (which is also nice). Maybe I should try their cicacare sleeping mask...

    "The Road to Hell is paved with The Ordinary's 30% Peeling Solution"🤣 I lost it.

    Such a well put and detailed review! I have been utterly confused between the Tony Moly Mocchi Ceramide toner and Rovectin Cica Purifying Toner. This review helped me form some clear opinions. Great job!
    Question : Budget aside, which toner of the two do you think performed well?
    Thanks!

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're quite different imo! The Tonymoly feels more like an essence - in fact if you're familiar with the I'm from Rice toner, it's most similar to that - hydrates but almost feels a bit moisturizing (can be a catch 22 if you're following with actives, I suspect - but wonderful for dry skin). The Rovectin cica toner is more watery, and I also prefer it for layering simply because it isn't irritating at all. I think it's strength is less moisturizing but moreso calming (excellent for skin that is prone to irritation). Hope that helps!

    • @aYTaccount
      @aYTaccount 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole That was very helpful. Thanks!
      I do use have a sensitive skin which is easily flared up, and also incorporate AHAs/ PHA and Vitamin C in my routine.
      Was planning on finalizing Tony Moly toner as a barrier supporting / soothing step.
      But Rovectin might be a better choice I reckon?
      Edit : Just want to make sure Tony Moly toner doesn't "conflict" with any active, resulting in irritation (if not prevent it).

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah I think you can use the ceramide toner if you want a light moisturizing layer, but I’d say to do it after your actives. That’s what I do as I have acne - my BHA serum goes before essences as a general rule (and the ceramide toner is so much more of an essence imo!)

    • @aYTaccount
      @aYTaccount 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole That, is a brilliant idea. I will definitely employ this technique.
      Although it makes sense for BHA to seep past the gooey ceramides since it's oil soluble, but why take a chance, all actives may not be able to do it, also ceramides seem well suited for locking everything applied underneath.
      Guess I'll go with Rovectin owing to the soothing properties and presence of amino acids. Phew. I'm sorted. Have a good day! :)
