hhmm I am hypermobile so I can do these. I need to stregthen stregthen stregthen! :) I would add in more time on all four's and getting more grip strength. Also putting your arms above your head as many people don't ever use their full shoulder range of motion anymore.
Props to this... I am naturally flexible, but stamina and strength aren't my best. I had to steam curtains today, and my hands are dooone. I would add steaming a curtain as a third test 😂
The shoe test I did fine on the right foot but didn’t loosen the ties enough on my left shoe and wound up hopping around the room with my foot stuck, so we’re calling it an operator error 😂 The stand up test I heard about years ago in college from some friends who were several years older than me and very out of shape. I was the only one who could do it for 10 points. They kept having me do it over and over again like I was a trained seal because it was so “impressive” that I could do it (in my 20s) and they couldn’t. Seeing their inability to get up, motivated me to stay in shape and get a floor desk during Covid. Still hitting that 10/10 and I’m older than they were back then. Changing friend groups had nothing to do with this test, but that “show me your friends and I’ll show you your future” quote always rings in my head when I do this test.😅
Firstly, I love your content and delivery. Secondly, have you read Built to Move? It includes the two tests you mentioned and has been a life changing book for me.
I love your videos. Found you while researching futons, haven't bought one yet but plan to. You are so upbeat but not in an irritating way. Great content. I need to work on both of these and grip strength. I am always dropping things.I am 64.
Oh yeah grip strength is so important too!! Do you have one of those grippy thingies to squeeze? And I’m so glad I’m not irritating to you ahhahahaha ty for being here!!!
@@daisyinmydays excellent, good for you. I'm 37 and am working on regaining the ability to do these things, but it would've been soooo much easier if I'd just never stopped!
@@natashatheresa Yes that's what I thought too! I'm pretty active but have a desk job so I'm trying to find ways to move more at the office... not easy!

Hahahahahahaa yeah I was angry I had to tie my shoes loll! Oh I didn’t even think about trying it with diff feet in front! Yay for walking every day! A little goes a long way!!
I failed just watching you - ha ha ha. With my mobility issues, I would certainly fall over trying to do this. I have to be sitting on the love seat to get shoes on. They are slip on ones (generic Sketcher's from Amazon) but still use a shoe horn to make it easier. I don't need a weighted vest already packing a few extra pounds on. I can see where it's great to have for work outs for someone more in shape. The 2nd test - you made it look super easy. I invite you over, with your video camera to tape me trying to do this one, pretty sure it will go viral and be the laugh of the Internet. Basically, there is no way I can get to floor any where near graceful and would need assistance to get up - again - those darn mobility issues!
Awwwww Linda hahahaha. Well… a weighted vest is a pretty low impact way to build more muscle back up as well. Thanks always for watching and I’ll be responding to your email soon!
I'm afraid to try, LOL! I twisted/pulled my back/side a week or so ago. I'm doing better now but I don't want to chance it just yet. Though... something tells me I wouldn't be successful even without the back issue. Bah, humbug!
@@natashatheresa yes I've heard Whitin are similar to Hobibear. They look exactly the same when I'm watching your video. I love mine. So comfy and a good price although I might need to go for even wider shoes as my feet find their new shape.
