I just watched this movie. Never heard of it until a few days ago. What an emotional rollercoaster. I rarely ever cry during a movie. This one had me in tears for most of it.

This movie actually shows that treating others with respect and in the end that we are all doing the best we can in difficult situations and have some patience and compassion for those we disagree with. The same reason Val Kilmer was never even nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Doc Holiday in Tombstone. Hollywood doesn't reward westerns these days.
I totally concur!!! Oscar worthy in every aspect! My favorite role and performance by the great Mr. Bale!! A gut wrenching movie.
This movie is not what you expect, it's so much more.
Possibly one of Bales best performances. How each of the Characters deal with individual loss (and they all get their moment) is nothing short of beautiful.
Rory Cochrane was brilliant! His portrayal of Tommy was superb.
Cinematography was another highlight for me.

Yeah, I think he's great. He's well known for the dark knight, but he's got a bunch of other great roles. 3:10 to yuma (another western) and American psycho, just to name a few

Too much Tragedy & Death, we have had enough of this in real life.
Damn good film. The cinematography is exceptional, so is the acting. I was expecting it to be a typical 'shoot em up western' but it's so much more, a great story about a harsh time and the effect it has on people from both sides of a conflict and the reconciliation of enemies. I'm amazed more people haven't seen it, the trailer and promotion didn't do it justice. The score was also brilliant.

Agree, I just wish the director would have stopped Bale from mumbling his dialogue. Hard to hear most of the time 👴🏼
Only problem for me was the sound , could not hear what they were saying half the time. Could be an age thing ? 👴🏼
It sucked between Bale's Mumbling and Pike's overacting (oh and a shallow fn plot) I was rootn for the Comanche!

One Hell of an EPIC film that deserves many accolades, including an Oscar for best picture and Mr. Bale’s finest work! Everyone in this movie gave a stellar performance and as gut wrenching as this movie can be to watch, it sticks with you and hits you in the heart. A must see and epic in every way!

In the king he played well in dune he was just correct I haven't seen more films with him and I can't understand these delights.
When the first 3 movies you directed are Crazy Heart, Out of the Furnace, and Black Mass, the 4th one you direct is gonna have my attention...
I swear this film was a slow burning masterpiece of the 2010's. Only reason it didn't set awards alight is due to the western category. All the performances are stellar and the ending is tearful

What a great movie! Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike played very well. This whole story between native people and americans is so difficult, so many people died because of it on both sides. That makes me sad that people still hardly come to an agreement with each other in our days

Easily one of the very best modern Westerns and quite likely one of the best Westerns of all Time. Not conventional, not easy - but as a rewarding a movie as you could ever hope to see in your life.
Great film, see it, vastly underrated. Set in 1892, amazing to think that some of these soldiers fought in the civil war.
This is literally a modern movie with everything that makes an old movie amazing and then some. This is one of my favorite movies

I'm not a big fan of western movies, but when i saw Cristian and Rosamund i had to see it and it was a masterpiece!!! OMG one of my favorite movie!

You know no one is safe when in the first 10 minutes of the movie two children are killed. Left me shocked, but it was a thrilling start to the adventure

There's not a whole lot of pure blood native american actors (or in general) left. Alot are half casts that dont have an authentic native look.

Wonderful film great western. The cinematography is beautiful, the acting is suburb and the story is both brutal and sad but tells of a reconciliation between former enemies. As a lover of western for many many years, I would like to see more western made especially westerns of this calibre. I believe there would be many like myself who would like to see that.

Fine film wonderfully made, photographed and acted. Some say the film was a bit slow but I think the character development was one of the best parts of the film. Have been a big fan of western films since was a boy and this one did not disappoint one bit.

Wes Studi is amazing. In every last thing he is in. Hugely underrated. If you want a good movie night, search his credits and pick any movie. He blows me away in , "Last of the Mohicans" and is definitely the best supporting actor in, "Heat".
I think Christian Bale is a very good actor. Give him the appropriate role and he can produce marvels. I am looking forward to seeing this film.

Never watched the Trailer when I watched the movie and It showed Ben foster and he did the nod I jumped outta my seat rubbed my hands together and said “Here we go” like anyone the seen 3:10 to Yuma knows. One of the realist westerns ever. I think they depicted the Aboriginals perfectly, as well as the soldiers what a trip awesome movie.
