The Kit Breakdown is the only place where you can hear exclusively from two World Cup winning kit designers. Craig Buglass and Rob Warner use their combined experience at brands such as Nike, Puma and Umbro to offer a unique perspective on a wide range of kits.
In this bonus episode, Rob & Craig talk to Liverpool kit collector Rob Leighton, who provided the majority of the shirts for our interview with Jamie Carragher. They take a closer look at the kits he provided, and chat about the way these kits changed over time.

I think that there were player issued kit, in the season of the green adidas kit. I bought a sponsorless red kit.( you couldn't play with alcohol sponsors in France and we played in Marseille that season). Later that season i went over to watch Hyypia's last game, and i could see that all of the reds kits in the stand was different to mine, all the seams on mine was "clued" and not stitched, and other small details..

The adidas players kit was Formotion, the replica was ClimaCool and the main difference is material and also heat transfer of the logos and also the three stripes.

The ecru Reebok kit really does look great for casual wear. Desperate to pick up that one and the white and green chequered away kit from the mid 90s at some point!

Great episode gentleman. Loving the vids and the nostalgia of all these kits.
Would love a video from Craig and Rob talking about their top 5/10 kits they designed in their careers and why. Really interesting stuff, keep it up 😀❤

Reebok had some outrageous designs in the Americas that I didn’t see in European teams. Chile 1998 is the more famous, but Costa Rica’s “cow spots” and “rising sun” designs from 1996-97 are classics.
