Believe the pattern on the Forest shirt is the ironwork from Trent bridge as opposed to the cathedral brickwork

Macron are smashing it at the moment. They are producing some great bespoke kits for large and small clubs. Top work.

In terms of smartness, neatness and elegance overall, just look at the Umbro tops for Bournemouth,Luton and West Ham United in 2023/24. Some might say "boring" but they look tidy. My lot's trio for 23/24 are really good & Castore have surprised me generally, with Villa and Wolves as well. Our home top is certainly an homage to the Umbro top of 40yrs ago, the green is pretty much "colour clash-proof" with a hint of Nigeria and the navy blue/yellow is gradually growing on me, despite looking a bit 1990s Wimbledon.
I often hear Newcastle fans clamouring for Adidas, but no thank you - their designers seem to be "at kindergarten with their tin of poster paints", especially when I saw Leeds and Fulham's change kits that they vomitted up from a drawing board. As for last season's Manchester United home kit collar, that looked like some kiddies had cut out some triangles and "made it for teacher"...As for this seasons away that looks like a public school blazer, what in heaven's sake are they thinking? Surely a yellow/green Newton Heath idea would've been a much better plan?
Just abysmal and Adidas can keep their overpriced tat until they get a new design team in & dump the junior art students....

Does that detract from the quality/ appeal of their kit in your eyes? It’s definitely nice for fans to feel that their clubs are getting something unique!

Haha! The Fulham one is really high quality, fabric & composition wise. The Brighton replica by comparison doesn’t have much to it other than the print on the template.
The thick ribbed collar looks beautiful on the Palace shirt but awful on the West Ham. Looks like you wouldn’t be able to get your neck through it

Personally I love it and it opens the door for other clubs to use different crest on each kit. I’ve been banging on about doing that for years, great to finally see it:)

As a Brighton fan following since the early 80’s & been through hell that home kit is appalling.
I actually emailed the club last July & said I will refuse buying anymore Nike product.
Then there’s the England Nike garbage.
The away kit is awful as well.
The first couple of years with Nike were really good, but they just gave up about 5 years ago.

The Leicester 3rd shirt would probably of brought more discussion than the home, same for Leeds Away shirt. All of Palace shirts this season are top draw

Yeah defo, but I think it might be better if we reviewed people’s work that have done the courses at Spark Design Academy…. It’s important for us that designers go through the process of design. That said, let me talk to Rob and see what he thinks, great idea tho:)

Isn't the Fulham and Leeds kit the same template? What makes one better than the other? (Not defending Leeds' kit. As much as I like the team, their kits have been boring for the past few years.)
Same template but a big difference in quality up close! Leeds have definitely had some of the more generic offerings from Adidas recently.
@The Kit Breakdown I think that's partly listening to the fans though. Leeds fans really just want simple for the home shirt and this one went down really well. The away/ 3rd are where they can be more creative

Have a question, top teams have player issue/specific/authentic shirts. Do the smaller teams have have shirts that are different to the replica/ fan versions?

Crystal Palace is indeed the best of them all. I’m intrigued you chose Fulham’s and discarded Leicester’s, they both looked the same to me.
If kits are serious about the environment they should forget ‘carbon footprint’ and start using hemp to make the shirts, which is biodegradable.
Shame Macron weren’t ‘smashing it’ when they made kits for Villa. One wash & the whole shirt fell apart! 🤦🏼♂️

@@TheKitBreakdowncan see that by the quality of some of the shirts you’ve had on…whether they’re from home or abroad. Quality of one brand that’s really gone downhill is my favourite brand…adidas. Bring back the Trefoil!! Even if it’s just on a third shirt…like Nike did, when they put the old everyday essential Nike wording & tick on kits a few years ago on the Inter, Atletico Madrid & PSG third shirts etc.
You & Craig could start a trefoil fan club! Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back!

Have adidas footballs as Questra again too, instead of the ‘fly away’ balls they use these days! I’m 39, so as an old man I feel I’m entitled to moan. Macron replicas are awful quality, fall apart quicker than any other for me
