ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
Part 1 of a 5 part montage of Sci-fi art from the second Golden Age of Science Fiction when books, magazines and films had some of the most amazing and memorable covers/artwork from artists like Peter Elson, Angus Mckie, Chris Foss and Tim White and John Berkey. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน
Intense 70's retrofuturism with positive vibe about space colonizing in early XXI century.
so many stuff we see here in these magestic paints that are used in movies today... these were the real artists back in the 60's and 70's
When I first saw most of this art (in books in the late 1970's), it reminded me of the future. When I discovered Tangerine Dream in the late 1980's, it also reminded me of the future. Seeing these things together now reminds me that there will be a future, in spite of a present mired in the past. I can only hope that I will be there to remember it.
Stunning. Just utterly stunning. Everything. Both the pictures and the music.
So obviously a labour of love to compile and post this series. It is very much appreciated
xx, Thank you. Oh, to be able to read the novels which many of these illustrations graced, for the first time again. Days of futures past and the glory of the pause button.
He he, I have the tangerine Dream albums you're using as sondtracks too.
Phaedra, Rubicon, Ricochet etc. All hail the airbrush and gauche era.
💓
Loved the TTA books as a kid . 30 + years later, I still can't forget the spacecraft type known as an "Atmo Interceptor". Fun , imaginative stuff . Thank You
Ah yes, the Atmo Interceptor amazing concept art by the legendary Peter Elson.
I favorited all five of these. It's amazing to see all these again, but I can't help but to think I was born in the wrong century.
Scary...and beautiful...
Just stunning.
Fan of all of them!!! Music is perfect.
Love this art work. Tangerine Dream was one of many musical groups that got me involved in synthesis. Great channel, LOVE IT!!!
Reminds me of a quote, our current civilization is still nowhere near what these concepts dreamt of over 60 years ago.
“Old Earthers had focused their intelligence on the small and the soft, not the big and the hard, and built a civilization that was puny and crumbling where physical infrastructure was concerned, but astonishingly sophisticated when it came to networked communications and software.”
― Neal Stephenson, Seveneves

I borrowed some of the books in the early 80s from the school library, I was wanting to see them again but couldnt remember the name of the Artist but then I stumbled across these videos, what a nostalgia trip I recognise alot of these pictures
I really appreciate the editing that gives a new perspective on these art-works, it's only through trying to learn myself that i begin to understand the artistry that goes into it. Choosing what to begin showing, when to zoom out or in, when to pan, and what image to finish on and leave in the viewer's mind, before starting the new one, great work, i don't expect i will be as good but you inspire me to try.
Really like to see some of your work please post link .This is to me a lost artform from the height of paperbacks the spacewreck book was my favorite of all time

My 3 favorite Science Fiction art books are 1) Icon by Frank Frazetta. 2) Wonderworks by Michael Whelan 3) Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy by Tim Gibson. Futuristic jets, what's not to like?
*looks like Ron Cobb or Chris Foss paintings*
Beautiful work! Who is the artist in the last image?
That one I'm not sure of, possibly Bruce Pennington, possibly....
Makes me think of Dali’s Dreams.
All these images,as well as the music you have added to the vids, are truly inspiring for my own sci/fi work:)
Btw,what is the name of the tune used in this vid?
*two thumbs up*
The ship at 01:49 looks like what reportedly cashed in Roswell New Mexico in 1947
Es malo saber, o bueno? Que varios que somos amantes de este tipo de imagenes, no llegaremos a ver tal civilización a futuro como lo muestran en estos videos, Todo queda a la imaginación.....
is the name of these books visions of the future. These came out when I was a kid, I absolutley have to see if they are still around.
Muito BOM!
Xxnightopsxx, I must thank you and I really, REALLY appreciate it. Do you illustrate?
how things will change when humans lose the dependence on rocket propulsion and motor-driven-mechanicals. perhaps then the Art will reflect it as well.
AI will dominate
John berkey is my G-pa
4:58 - mass effect - citadel inspiration?
2001 space odyssey anyone 👽👽
What is golden age?
I'm coming from 2021, and it's still not like this. Sorry
This kind of future is way off about 300 years from now
If ever, given the way we are going. We have become more inward looking than outward.
絵をアップにしたり引いたり横に移動したりはしなくて良いので、ちゃんと全体像を見せてください😾
Umm ... Very cool and beautiful but, I just don't see it that way. Yeah. It's not going to be that at all. A VERY condensed version of a few things maybe but all in all. MmmmmNoPe
