Perfectly matched music and video! This era of art is still unique today, just as the sounds and music of this era of TD are still unique today.

I loved those book covers when I was a lad. Always hoped that film effects would one day get good enough to look as good as them. Now they have . Great stuff!

I used to have some of these images (taken from magazines and such; never had money for or access to the fancy book collections) and would stare at them for hours and hours. I was seeking out all the fine details, trying to figure out the overall shapes, desperately trying to imagine the world and the story behind them... I swear, it feels like they had seared themselves deep into my mind all those decades ago, as if their creators left their fingerprints on my soul.

Reminds me of a quote, our current civilization is still nowhere near what these concepts dreamt of over 60 years ago.
“Old Earthers had focused their intelligence on the small and the soft, not the big and the hard, and built a civilization that was puny and crumbling where physical infrastructure was concerned, but astonishingly sophisticated when it came to networked communications and software.”
    ― Neal Stephenson, Seveneves

Interestingly I was exposed to the TTA books at around the same time as I was listening to Rubycon, Phaedra, ricochet and Stratosfear. Lovely to see them pair together again, takes me back to when I was about 13.

I love those albums and just sort of felt they were right for the images. There was much less royalty free music around when I made these videos and I didn't even really think about views or subscribers. It was just a case of making a video for fun about a subject you were passionate about. The TTF books had a huge influence on me and they cost a fortune to buy as a kid. I still have them though, even though some of them have pages loose because the glue has deteriorated over time.

Everyone has their own favourite of course but for me it was the cover art to the God Emperor of Dune with the line of soldiers marching into the domed palace of Leto...the line of soldiers ran over the spine of the book and onto the back cover and there was one last man bringing up the rear, holding a flag. I use to just stare at that picture and wonder what that last guy was thinking, who he was, what was his name...

I don't recall any movies containing a sound track from Tangerine Dream. Yet it would have been so fitting if there were such films. This is good stuff!

At 5:49, I recognize that art piece, the armored figure in the foreground and the massive fighter plane, I had borrowed a book from the library, this was in the early 80s, the book I had was something about machines and it featured cyborgs, land and air vehicles all futuristic. What is the name of this artist, please? Hell, I need to get the names of all of the artists. Thanks for this, Xxnightopsxx. : )

Simple, it would have taken forever. It took forever anyway given the tools I was using back then, not to mention my normal editing workflow is: edit, review, edit, review, edit, review, tweak, tweak, tweak...
