I removed the flaking so I could see better. I’m not sure reapplication is possible. If they are within the warranty period Oakley will just replace with a new one.
@@semiprocycling I guess it is very different for each person. I don’t get affected by the flaking at all. So I just leave the layer on. OTH, I am based in UK. Sunny day is a relatively foreign concept here.
@@semiprocycling ah, that’s a shame. For whatever reason I thought the warranty was lifetime, and I did some digging, I guess it’s been a number of years since that has changed.
What about the protective properties to the eyes though? Like, is this removing UV protection?
the coating makes the surface harden as well. Once that coating is off, the lens would get scratched up very easily.
Oakley problem.. rayban lens does not peel like that
Tried this but it just left a sticky residue from the tape all over the lenses
how about new lens, new glasses, different manufacturer...
Does this prepare the lens for reapplication of the layer? Or are you just removing the flaking layers for better aesthetics?

Correct and I already replaced them once. The warranty is for two years, though and I’ve had these longer.
