Hijacking this in hopes of getting an answer. I use alt+q,w,e etc for items and I have never figured out an alternative to alt (lol) for toggling attack modifiers. I started using atl+ for items because I heard a lot of pros use that, and I got too used to it. Since pros use this style, I figured there must be another way to toggle modifiers that they use, but I'm yet to find out how. Any insight would be appreciated!
I was doing okay as weaver but kinda struggling, never realized how aggro i could be in lane. Got a rampage the next game after watching this, really felt a lot more confident in my decision making, 33-3-17 was my end score BTW, possibly highest kill game I ever had. Thanks BSJ!
Weaver and grim stroke are a really good combo, even prior to the buffs because swarm plus phantom. In early game, they have to spend 6 attacks to completely remove both. It's extremely high value trading.

Yo BSJ, I had a game playin weaver yesterday and it felt completely broken. Carried so hard the enemy WK used hacks and spawned in about 50 tomes of experience at 38 minutes into the game, they all got level 30 and we still won. 100% nerf incoming 6183646149 match id there. First time seeing hacks in dota.
@@arslaanpasha3334 Don't be naive, it's a bug, yes u can get banned for it, but it was patched in less than 1 hr after being reported, it's not the first time something like that happen, will be stupid for volvo to ban everyone that use a bug like that one.

I knew something was wrong then all of sudden our game got disconnected and wasnt reconnecting. Their ids got banned and no match record.
I remember TI 8 while people argue about how broken weaver it then his sukuchi mana cost increase to 75, he got less picked. But now it back to 60 with more mana regen and neutral stack nerf. It feels pretty broken now.
What about Nullifier? I feel like this can be a good lategame item against certain supports or even carries (e.g. Ursa), gives you mainly damage as a stat even if not as cost-efficient as daedalus or mkb
To be honest I stopped diving as much on Weaver after the tower attack speed change before that I actually played him mid (in favorable matchups) a lot for the fact that you could dive once the enemy spells are down and get a few early kills on certain mids. But now his mid is really bad.
Yeah i feel you. Playing him against sniper used to be so fun, he was basically a sitting duck under his tower waiting to be gobbled up. I imagine sniper would wreck weaver mid now.
What I've been testing with Weaver is to take the hyper aggression to an extreme and rush diffusal before boots then rotate to the enemy carry (7-9m) Basically no hc in the game can deal with this pressure and people will either feed or concede that space to you (so you can keep on pressuring the enemy hc while farming for ten minutes or so) Any thoughts?
That could work on low or medium ranks. But in high ranks people know your items, they have sentries, tp to defend the carry. So it could work once but then again it depends
Enemy hc would just dodge you bro , + if u rush diffu ,u will probably have zero stat items and u will die like paper before you can even deal damage, only time u can go for this rush is when maybe your mid is stomping and u need to chase enemy hc away from their triangle. But in pubs u can't rely on your ally, so it's just better to rush treads mael and amp your farm.
I tried weaver for 7 games, exactly the same bild, as bsj - maelstorm, dragon lance, bkb and then situational and won all of the 7 games. 6 games were with 16+ kills and 3- deaths. So pretty amazing on shitty ancient bracket LOL. The seventh game was against slardar, bh, spirit breaker, lich and ursa and even that i was like 9 4 15, so it worsk even againts super counter picks i guess. So ty BSJ for free MMR
hey bsj i just watched a video from speed on safe lane weaver as well and he says always always take 2nd talent 2 swarm attacks to kill and never mana break, as well he says usually always go falcon blade but with ur guide u say dont go falcon and go mana break if ur carry weaver. Can you comment more on this and why speed says a complete opposite thing to do in games
what do you think of the weaver vs axe matchup, because ive played as the axe against weaver a good amount of times and i have yet to lose against a weaver, i am low ranked and i havent done it this patch but would you chose a weaver into an axe?
Idk i agree with you, I've played weaver a lot and axe is always a pain. He kills this bug with one call. I don't know what the oher commenters are talking about. If weaver gets called he is most certainly dead. Need to watch your positioning a lot.

Weaver crushes axe in lane and bug cancels blink. And aeon disk still deals with the call. And most importantly, weaver farms the offlane and the triangle that axe farms usually. Axe has no game against this current weaver. You will get blink at like 25 min(when your throne explodes). Don't you see how new weaver plays in this video?
It's amusing that BSJ tells you to consistently go against what speed recommends on his Weaver guide (falcon blade, mana break). I almost always take the mana break.
Great explanation as always. I'm curious would u ever go diffusal on weaver? I saw their lineup in the first replay and thought u may go for it, I feel like it creates good opportunities to dish out dmg in teamfights just like dragon lance, and gives u better solo kill ability which is good since u r often mirroring ur team on the map and there will often be somebody who needs to defend the lane that u r pushing, but less survivability than dragon lance. Also just want to add a point about satanic, u prefer to use satanic to preserve time-lapse instead of the other way around because satanic has lower CD, so you may use satanic twice, same reason why lion should always use Earth Spike first in the early game instead of hex first if possible(not against am, etc).
"Never". Pros don't even take mana break talent even against medusa. Weaver has attack speed issues and sustain issues. Diffusal solves literally nothing. And slow does nothing when you have haste. Its like countering yourself.
You probably won't read this, but at 24:25 you mentioned that Bulwark doesn't block MKB, it actually does block MKB. Mars' Bulwark blocks attack damage but not spell damage, MKB is not considered spell damage, but an ability like OD's Arcane Orb is considered spell damage, so it fully pierces the block.
I wanna disagree about dragon lance. I've tried it multiple times and it is so underwhelming. It just doesn't do much for survivability and just meh otherwise. And now that you don't skip boots most of the time you are soon forced to sell it. Yeah buildup is cool but for example a yasha amplifies your farm so much for the same price. And for 2k further you get s&y which gives 20% status resist and weaver is probably the best hero to get status resist on. Against hard cc such as lion shaman etc. s&y all the way. Against silence+burst such as skywrath/orchid heroes still skip lance and go earlier bkb. Imo lance is an inefficient item on weaver just like falcon blade. Also, guides should be less about current meta imo as now you can see that some aspects are outdated.
I get it only if I am doing very well in early game. Otherwise, rushing Bkb and/or Linkens is a priority. After those defensive items, I usually have no time to squeeze a Dragon Lance in there, because Weaver desperately needs damage in mid-late game. If you do have time and early game was sweet for you, getting an early Dragon Lance really helps with positioning in both pickoffs and team fights (plus the extra stats making you quite tanky in early/mid game)
When i started dota i played enchantress and legion commander a lot. My thinking was if i was not good and i was a liability at least i could jungle. One day i tried weaver, was in a 5 stack with friends. It was the first game i cleared 25 kills. I barely died. 10 years later he is my most played hero. I look forward to people countering me, because I've long since figured out how to play around them. Funny enough he was my answer for sniper. Now, sniper is one of the harder heroes for him to lane against. You can walk over a bad sniper but a good one will completely control the creep wave. My stacks signature lineup was weaver, vengeful spirit, drow, dazzle and lycan.
You name Satanic as item but i feel like Skadi has a place too to stick to heroes if you really dont feel scared to die ever. You can just stick to any strength core and click them down
Maybe you touched on it and i missed it, or maybe you just didnt bother because tread switching sorta helps any hero out.. But with weavers mana pool being what it is and the way percentages work, sukuchi effectively costs ~48 mana. If you're on agi with 48 mana you can toggle twice to get to int and youll have 60 mana, sukuchi has a half second fade time so you can switch back to agi so that your first attack hits as hard as possible. Plus, if you have flat mana regen items (ring of basilus) you regen more % of your mana per second in agi so being in agi always except for casting yields the most mana. You can tread switch for all his spells, but sukuchi being low cost makes tread switching that much more valuable. Also, im 90% sure its "germinate" attack. Ive got almost 1000 weaver games, i have a 56% winrate with him. I play him mid more than safelane. His gank potential is really good and rune control is great. Germinate and sukuchi allows for good creep contesting. Early timelapse makes you a beast. At level 16/17 you can solo tormentor and from mid you can hit that at 20-25 minutes. He is easily hard countered mid though. But if you play him a lot his kit does allow for outwitting your counters. You just gotta learn how the enemy reacts to you and take advantage of it.
Is diffusal blade good on weaver vs heroes that rely on mana to live, fight or farm? Like slark, jugg, dusa, ursa. Usaid its good to sit in ur safe lane and pressure off-lane, but with diffusal u might have option to pressure their carry. Is pressuring enemy off-lane better play as opposed to pressuring their safe lane or is it just safer/more reliable? Also how to play against heroes with heavy turn capabilities like, jugg, luna, tide, enigma? Games feel almoost impossible to win against those heroes. :
i seen Sumail stream and he literally goes radiance as 1st item with no boots or other small items , just stats and direct radiance the whole new meta.
BSJ, Based on what I learned from Speeed weaver build, Lv 15 Talent taking mana break is really bad and much better to get +2 Swarm Attack kills. But because there's Medusa in that game, It's common sense to get mana break talent. So why in another game without Medusa, you still taking Mana break Talent? What's so good about it rather than +2 Bug hit Talent?
mana break is physical dmg so its effectively +20 dmg that synergizes with ur bugs plus a ton of carries hate it. Something like a bristleback or lifestealer hate skadi mana break weaver

Depends, if weaver doesn't go linkens first item he can be killed very easily by lc with blink + bm. If he does go linkens first he will be useless in fights.
I pick weaver, team then picks rubick offlane and clinkz mid, lion stands behind me for the first ten minutes and never pulls, contests cs and does 0 harass. Why is mid archon 100000% worse in itemization and game knowledge than guardian, shits insane.

Man likens used to be so much better when there were less spells. I used to run offlane weaver and rush linkens. Once i got the linkens i was reallly hard to kill, and would annoy the shit out of you.

@@KidTrigger "Average rank" has nothing to do with how good the players are. 6k players are absolute jokes in 9k players' eyes. 12k players see the same to 9k players. Dota is hard enough for people of the highest rank to see slightly worse players as clowns. If there is somebody who sees you as a kid,that means you are horrible at the game. Thats why 9k and below are still not good. For example, bsj roasts 6k players all the time. But acts like a newbie when qojqva coaches him. The skill difference is massive.
As a note for everyone watching this video. Never build Radiance/Linkens on Weaver, its garbage, as evidenced by the fact that he was useless in every single fight and had no real presence before 30 minutes because he built 3 defensive items. He may have gotten the build from Sumail, but you are not Sumail and more importantly your team is not OG. You will not have the luxury of your team carrying you through 40 minutes so you can be useful.

BSJ, you can bind the toggle to a hotkey, you don't need alt.
Similar configuration is possible with PL rush.

I always play mid weaver and usually Godlike. It's so easy to gank top or bottom and return to mid in a flash.

If you can achieve 7 mana regen per second you can spam sukuchi off cooldown using tread switch.

i seen Sumail stream and he literally goes radiance as 1st item with no boots or other small items , just stats and direct radiance the whole new meta.

BSJ, Based on what I learned from Speeed weaver build, Lv 15 Talent taking mana break is really bad and much better to get +2 Swarm Attack kills. But because there's Medusa in that game, It's common sense to get mana break talent. So why in another game without Medusa, you still taking Mana break Talent? What's so good about it rather than +2 Bug hit Talent?
mana break is physical dmg so its effectively +20 dmg that synergizes with ur bugs plus a ton of carries hate it. Something like a bristleback or lifestealer hate skadi mana break weaver

Depends, if weaver doesn't go linkens first item he can be killed very easily by lc with blink + bm. If he does go linkens first he will be useless in fights.
Lots of heroes can go linkens. Most heroes would rather go bkb then linked so forcing to seitch to linkens is a counter silly herald

Man likens used to be so much better when there were less spells. I used to run offlane weaver and rush linkens. Once i got the linkens i was reallly hard to kill, and would annoy the shit out of you.

I am a stable Ancient player. But every time I join a party with some Divines, they call me noob by not going to the triangle when I am not, literally not, disturbed in the small triangle, two camps + incoming lane creeps, in the safe lane.
In dota, no one plays proper dota until at least 9k. Valve needs a new medal or something.

Dota is hard enough for people of the highest rank to see slightly worse players as clowns. If there is somebody who sees you as a kid,that means you are horrible at the game. Thats why 9k and below are still not good. For example, bsj roasts 6k players all the time. But acts like a newbie when qojqva coaches him. The skill difference is massive.

As a note for everyone watching this video. Never build Radiance/Linkens on Weaver, its garbage, as evidenced by the fact that he was useless in every single fight and had no real presence before 30 minutes because he built 3 defensive items. He may have gotten the build from Sumail, but you are not Sumail and more importantly your team is not OG. You will not have the luxury of your team carrying you through 40 minutes so you can be useful.
No one builds radiance on weaver wtf you talking about lmao. Radiance is for tanky heroes
