      BananaSlamJamma this approach is literally outstanding. Not forcing yourself to get video footage not only saves you time, but gives you the freedom of talking about exceptionally valuable concepts you may even miss if you have the video-related mindset.

    I'm 2nd LC player on dotabuff and I 100% agree with everything BSJ said (obviously)! Really impressive to see him having so much deep detailed knowledge about each hero. It took me hundreds of games to figure it on my own just spamming LC and here he talks about her as if it was his most played hero. One less common trick I would like to add would be buying travels on LC and just TPing on creeps to surprise a split pushing enemy hero. Also works great in a close game in the late game where you're losing or about to lose where you can try to throne race.

    I really love these kinds of videos for two reasons.
    1. I learned a lot how these heroes can be played in so many angle. The role and itemization, and the small details.
    2. I'm also learning how to counter these heroes respectively in virtue of capitalizing on its gaps such as what you've mentioned (multiple stuns).

    Really love these style of guides. I can watch replays on my own time and this helps me conceptualize the why behind actions of high rank players. I think it's over a long period time a more efficient way of learning than replay analysis type videos because it's not likely that what you discussed here will change significantly in following patches unlike replays where you have to also understand the context whifh changes by the patch and meta. Thanks banana man

  • @AzarakiDragon

    Glad you made the video 'cause there's a non-zero percent chance that someone on my pub team in the future will have watched the video, and hopefully therefore realizes that PTA is the best part of her kit, instead of "forgetting" (being hopelessly selfish) that you can dispel allies entirely

  • @orinivanvrkas7409
    @orinivanvrkas7409 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    From an LC main: the main thing missing here for more advanced play is laning tips versus Ursa/Slark/MK. I will always have to pick LC before their safelaner, and I will in 90 percent of cases be counter lane-picked with one of those. It would have been nice to have tips and/or examples of how to handle such lanes other than securing the ranged creep with your nuke. Cheers.

  • @TheIzotov
    @TheIzotov 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    SERIOUS FEEDBACK:
    Dear BSJ, I really like how you talked about customizing hotkeys/quickcast/self cast in this video, literally 99% of dota 2 guides out there ignores this and will just say "you gotta find the right blink duels on LC".
    The advanced mechanic on using Moment of Courage for deny is also something that I didn't know, and tbh I don't recall ever seeing ppl do that in my MMR (~4k NA) despite seeing ALOT of LC spammers.
    Analysis on skills, item builds, match ups are good, but I think those are things that players should learn by themselves with some pointers, if they require too much research and is likely to change by patch that maybe its not worth it to include them in the video.
    I think you can change the series to something like a "preparation/mechanics guide"? to help players set up their hotkeys and give them tips and tricks?
    Ember would be a really good one for this type of video

    • @manvendra88
      @manvendra88 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Upvoted for the hotkeys issues. How is anyone to find what smart double tap option even means and how it interacts with quick cast and autocast.
      A guide on hotkeys like that on armor will be far more helpful than any individual hero guide.

    • @TeddyTentacle
      @TeddyTentacle 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Manvendra Singh Smart double tap, like most of these options, has an explanation for what it does if you just hover over it with your mouse. So yeah, you should be able to find that stuff out by yourself.

    • @zeusfingers2266
      @zeusfingers2266 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also like seeing the order of the skill item combos. I have my alt-modifier on mouse 4 (camera grip mouse 5), so I just switch from quick cast to manual cast by holding mouse 4. This lets me double-bind most keys as well.

  • @fdshjakfdsafsd
    @fdshjakfdsafsd 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    This is great bsj. The best thing is you explaining WHY. Too many guides are vanilla and do not offer different situational builds and why you would go through with it. And your explanation of when she’s good and when she’s bad too often in pubs people pick the hero because they just want to even when hard countered.

    I used to play Legion commander back when jungling was still viable, literally carried me from crusader to high archon.

    Immensely helpful guide. I've read and watched plenty of guides for her but they are usually focused on just telling me what to do. This is wonderful for understanding the 'why' and covers all areas of her game in one package. Particularly enjoy the specific tidbits regarding hero specific matchups and how to skillbuild/lane/itembuild around them accordingly.

    Insanely good and detailed guide. Exactly what I need. I'm a pos 4/5 player making the switch to offlane (you can only play so many chen games in low mmr and not hate people). I primarily play Axe and SK right now just because Axe is Axe and I've played a bit of SK 4. I like this a lot! Discussing “mechanics” (pressing the buttons properly) followed by what feels good and what’s feels bad when playing the hero. I also love that you discussed how LC helps in relation to a win-condition (sitting behind a siege hero and buffing them). I never used alt self cast so I kept my Press the Attack on regular cast instead of quick so the little bit about hero specific hotkey tips was also very useful. Thanks for the content, man. Good job at ESL!

    Thanks for the vids BSJ! Always learn a lot when I watch your guides and tbh whatever helps you pump out more videos and increase the dota community's knowledge as a whole (I always love linking your vids and sending them to friends to explain certain concepts).
    If I were to make one suggestion, perhaps it'd be better to talk over even just one replay of you playing LC, or even a replay from one of your students so that you can point out some things they did right/wrong, what could've been adapted, it'd make your videos more visually interesting at least.
    But like I said, so long as you make videos like this I learn so much about the game (and realize how little I know even as a high Divine player) I'll keep watching for as long as I still play Dota

    Definitely a great guide that probably needs to be watched multiple times to apply everything! Thanks BSJ! I really like these conceptual videos about heros, like what to think about what your options for different playstyles are, when choose a certain playsyle etc. It's not flashy, but this kind of knowledge will probably win you a lot more games than mechanical skill

    This is perfect! Exactly the content i was looking for. So much deep and concise information about the hero that really helps with the mindset aproaching the hero (playing with it or against it).
    And i can't believe LC is the first one, literally the one I've researched in the past month or so and found nothing this useful. I think she is one of the most versatile heroes and this guide really helped me aproaching the game (skill build, items, save?, initiator?, etc)

    Hey BSJ I always admired u as a caster, I wanna thank you for the guide. I shit-stomped in the first game after it playing LC 10/0/9 in the 3k bracket playing with no support at all. Sharing a lane with a Tide, those mechanic tricks really helped me securing LH when my Tide wanted the farm for him. Also the duo who was against us couldnt barely get CS. The game was a stomp in 20 min so I couldnt test many of ur theories, but as I can see I bet it will all work.

    Loved this guide. I'm a big fan of BSJ's straightforward approach to dota and his explanations. I'm not an offlaner so haven't played a lot of LC, so I haven't practiced getting items/spells off before duel. That part was really interesting, as it felt like it wasn't something you could premeditate. But really you can! Also how the different play styles translate into winning the game was really informative.

    Much appreciated guide. Although its more conceptual based as you said, this is really good for:
    1. Understanding how the hero is scaling and why you should pick it
    2. Learningn how to itemise and tips such as the one you showed with the moment of courage
    Much better format than watching replays in my opinion. Not sure if you take suggestions from here, but given the popularity of blademail now, maybe an Axe guide would be good? Keep up the good work!

    A good thing to note is that LC gets a free w if she wins a duel. I never mentioned it before until I saw it in another hero guide.

    This is the first of your GUIDES that I've watched. One thing that would help is some timestamps in the description or comments.

    Do more, please! I'm looking to increase my MMR and expand my hero pool, but do not know the best way to play certain heroes and content like this really helps!

    Excellent content, you've been a massive source of dota knowledge for me.
    Personally, as a new player, I find most useful the discussion on the mechanical nuances of heroes. For me to appreciate the reason why a matchup is good or bad will take a lot of crappy games where I get to know the heroes and feel on my skin why that matchup was so good or bad. The mechanics, on the other hand, I feel like you can learn them right off the bat if somebody shows them to you. And you also have to build that muscle memory, so the sooner you start practicing good mechanics, the better.
    Anyway, I hope to see more videos like this one. Bye
