1: The rule card says “A trinket can be pocketed at any time by fulfilling its pocket objective.” - but this needs to be done during the normal course of game play? As in during your turn? 2: Does a trinket have to be pocketed if the objective is met? Or can a player choose to keep the trinket face-up and continue using its power?
@@doomlings Thank you! More clarity on 1: So when the pocket objective is “Play” you play the card at anytime to meet the objective? (You don’t have to wait your turn during the age?)
We wanted to circle back for a clarification: 1.) You can pocket the trinkets by fulfilling the pocket objective anytime. 2.) YES. You must pocket a trinket if the objective is met. The awesome power is no longer active at that point. Thanks, and apologies for any prior confusion.
@@doomlings Thank you. I believe previously I was told you could choose not to pocket the trinket if the objective was met, so this does help clear up the intended rules. I’ll be honest, my 1st question answered doesn’t seem any more clear. Playing a card out of turn to meet the objective “play” seems like an imbalance to the flow of the game.
@@mdennis1990 Hi mdennis!! Yes sorry for any confusion, some rules were changed on pocketing. This is the current official ruling at this time. We always encourage house rules if you feel that certain rules such as question 1 create an imbalance to flow.
maybe im dumb. we pick 1 of 2 trinkets at the start of the game... where does it go, does it stay in my hand, does it sit on the mat, face up, face down? what does pocket actually mean? reveal: 1 red in hand.... does that mean i reveal the trinket when i have a red in hand? ive only played once, im confused. do i get a new trinket once i reach the pocket objective? ive only played once, im confused.
Hey there! You can have one trinket at a time, starting with the one you are given at the beginning of the game. This stays face up near your trait pile - I like to keep mine by my gene pool card, leaving one more space for when I pocket my trinkets to keep them for points. In the example you give, you are correct - you'd reveal one red card in hand to pocket that card. Once a trait is pocketed, you do not get another trait until before the next age starts. If you complete the pocket objective, you must pocket the trinket. So wait, the awesome power occurs before or after you pocket the trinket?
