Seeing people open up their expansions and the awesome alt art/pulls is so exciting. I like the mix of having the FULL game in one copy and farming a little extra on the side with the gold packs. I am hyped.

It was so important that we ensured that the full set of cards was available for everyone - and we hope the collectors will love the gold packs when they are released. Just got into doomlings and i absolutely love it, as does my family. Cant wait for more. Quick question though, i purchased oiterally every expansion. How do you typically play? I know you can play with just each individual expabsion and then rotate out merchants and meaning of life. But as far as the traits go, obviously i have a massive deck of them. Do you usually shuffle them all together thoroughly and then randomly take 60 of them out to play with? Or do you select specific ones to ensure that all the traits from a specific set are included in the deck. For example: playing with all of the traits from imaginary ends, all of the regular traits and then the dinolings. Im just wondering whats recommended. I know u can play any way u want but i was curious if it was better to try to include all the traits from whatever expansions your choosing to play with. Ive found that shufflinf every trait set together and picjing 60 of them at random can make it difficult to find cards that work together sometimes. For example the elfling that venefits from having more of the mythlings in the game. Sometimes if u shuffle and pick a random 60 traits, you dont get many cards that are pqrt of their own set. Its definitely fun to have a giant pool of cards because u dont know what your going to get, but there also has to be some structure and limits to streamline the game. Just curious how y'all tupically play when u use several expansions combined.
Welcome to the community, Michael - and thanks for all the love. As far as which cards to play together, we always recommend that you play the base game + 1 expansion at a time. However, it's really up to you and your preferences. Some people like to play with ALL the cards, some only like doing one at a time... whatever YOU enjoy is the best combination possible. To suppress a card, you just flip it face down and put it beneath another card in your trait pile. Those then become 1 point each at the end of the game if you hold on to them until scoring. So will we still be able to open packs to complete or find cards at some point in this new expansion. I'm not referring to only foils only, I see there are gold packs. I really enjoyed buying boxes and filling the cards into my binder.
Imaginary Ends is a full set expansion - so all of the regular, non-holofoil cards that come in IE come in the set and those cards will be in the gold packs in holofoil, along with alt art and easter eggs. It's closer to the model we used for the Upgrade Pack. We're glad to know you enjoyed the Overlush Mystery expansion, though!! Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate you.
@@doomlings One last note or request. It would be great if Doomlings could explore creating guidelines or rules to allow for deck building to be used in a game. I find Doomlings to be more fun when you create personal custom decks for each player with less variations of cards but multiple copies of the same card. If other people were to learn this style of playing Doomlings not only would more products sell to fill decks, but there would be more creativity & strategy when making decks. The standard play style doesn't need to go away. Maybe just call one party and the other competitive.
So is it best to play with base game plus one expansion at a time? What’s recommended? I wouldn’t want to put a bunch of expansions in at once because it lowers the synergy across hands drawn, right?
We did design & playtest Imaginary Ends with just the classic Doomlings base game in mind, but it's up to you how to mix-and-match! It really depends on your personal preference and play style.
Imaginary Ends was designed and playtested with the original game, but you're more than welcome to play with any of the expansion combinations you wish. Maximum expansions would probably make for maximum chaos - and we hope you have a blast playing!!
Probably not really worth it, since you lose those face points, but if everything is like 1 or lower. Could eliminate 2 colors and get more bonus. But need to learn more about surpressing and if you can loose those cards to easy...

Building on this, when you say “expansion”, does that mean a pack like imaginary ends as a whole, or adding the cards from only 1 of the 5 to a game?

@@keesjrR For suppressed cards if a host card is eliminated the suppressed cards are just discarded. Hope that helps
