This is exactly what my 2.5 month old newf does. Because of it I named her Poseidon. She just destroys the water bowl, flips it all out, and then looks at me stunned when its empty with a face like "um...why aren't you refilling this right now?"... I love her. :D
I used 5 gal. buckets for my Newfys to drink from. They love to put their whole face in their and bite the water. They will lay down in puddles and roll. He is so cute....
So funny. We just got a Newfie puppy and kept finding our kitchen floor flooded until we caught her doing what yours does. Now her water bowl is outside.
We had a chessie that used to do that lol. Man I miss that dog. we ended up putting a fish pond in the back yard cuz we got tired of filling the bowl. The fish didn't last too long though lol
When I was a kid, our Newfie, Simon, used to pass his waterbowl from his front leg to his back, then fling the bowl against the wall and roll around in the water on the floor. This started at age 8 weeks and continued until we move to a rural area and he had a water bucket to drink out of and lots of ponds and streams to lounge around in. I miss that big bear of a baby.
Typical Newfie so lovable and fun.Our Pyrenean mountain dog does that occasionally. She now has a bucket. But hard to break the habit with Newfies they just want to be in water constantly
@FunOrNotFun YES!! Get a Newfie!! These dogs are fine in an apartment! We have a small house...small yard...2 Newfies, 2 kids and all their friends, 2 cats, frogs, fish...you get it. They don't even need really long walks to be happy, but they do need to walk some...lets be real here. They both follow me around all day long...they need alot of grooming and my house is never really clean....but I think they are worth it and I'll take a messy fun house over a museum any day...and I sure did!
I believed this was an exeption, but it is the rule. The problem of mine, it is that with a lot of mud she likes to make holes too, and comes and fills the bowl with mud and throws the water. Like this dog, they like to be wet, but we do not.
lol too cute! Just be glad newfoundlands are smaller dogs that do not drool as much as our 220 pound mastiffs lol. Cant keep a mastiff out of water either, I DO TRY! lol Mine learned how to turn on the taps for the tub, had to install locks on them lol
idea you could make a cut out in the deck with a 3 gallon or 5 round bucket with a water hose hooked to it you could easily turn on or rigging a ac float on the outside beneath deck that would refill the bucket. then he can water hole dig all he wants.
My German Shepherd/Husky mix does this too, I had to elevate his outside bowl so he couldn't do that anymore. Luckily he never did that with his inside bowl.
They just want to swim in it! (Even tho it's ridicoulously small for a Newfie!) For my cat-who's very naughty!-I had to get a flat, square water dish because he would knock any regular water bowl over... I love it when pets are being jerks/difficult! Why shouldn't they be? Haha. Though my cat has a real penchant for knocking things over. A table lamp (semi-broken, plants (abused), stuff in the kitchen cabinets (glass bowl crashed). But I love him, silly, loveable beautiful boy.
@rctriplefresh5 believe it or not....he is all Newfie....at the time Odin was only 7 months old. He is just now getting his newfie tail and elbows. He is a smooth coat newfie....just turned one in december and his vet said he spent all his calories the first year growing long and tall and this next full year will bulk up....he is 130 now and looks skinny...his dad was 180 lbs, but mom was only 100lb....we'll see!
I would suggest getting her a stand for her water and food bowls. It's necessary anyway for big dogs as the constant bending can cause back and neck issues for them
OMGosh! Who told this person they had a Newfy ? If that isn't an English Lab than I am as wrong as the owner. I only know because I have one. Cld be wrong but don't think so!
I think you need to get him a bigger swimming bowl. Lol
This is exactly what my 2.5 month old newf does. Because of it I named her Poseidon. She just destroys the water bowl, flips it all out, and then looks at me stunned when its empty with a face like "um...why aren't you refilling this right now?"... I love her. :D
my 4 months old puppy does the same...it's always easy to find him, just follow the wet footprints!
I used 5 gal. buckets for my Newfys to drink from. They love to put their whole face in their and bite the water. They will lay down in puddles and roll. He is so cute....
This dog is getting me so pumped to get my newfie in lik 5-6 months. :) If my dog does anything like that i'll love him so much more.
I am getting a newf in December. She was born on Wed. Watching videos like this make me ever more excited to get her!
they truly are water dogs! instinctively he wants to swim :D
Water dog adorable!!😍
Great video. Brought back lots of good fuzzy memories. Made me "misty" Thanks for sharing !
This is how I drink beer
So funny. We just got a Newfie puppy and kept finding our kitchen floor flooded until we caught her doing what yours does. Now her water bowl is outside.
He's probably seeing his reflection in the shiny bottom of the bowl and trying to get to the other dog so they can play.
Adorable ❤️❤️❤️❤️🌟🌟

It's a water dog. It's trying to take a swim.
It's just so damn liquidy
We had a chessie that used to do that lol. Man I miss that dog. we ended up putting a fish pond in the back yard cuz we got tired of filling the bowl. The fish didn't last too long though lol

My Great Pyrenees does the same thing and loves the water and ice cubes.
We got a weighted bowl and that has stopped. I guess it's not fun if the bowl isn't sliding with the water, lol
That is the sleekest Newfoundland I've seen on the internet. Handsome devil.
hes like....WATER?!?!? wtf is this stuff wheres the food!
He just like my dog
Your pool is a tad too small there buddy 😂🤣💞
I keep my Newfie's water bowl on a step stool in the bathtub--it's the only way to contain the water when he dunks his face in the bowl
OH MY GOD THAT IS THE CUTEST!
Haha! So cute!!
Typical Newfie so lovable and fun.Our Pyrenean mountain dog does that occasionally. She now has a bucket. But hard to break the habit with Newfies they just want to be in water constantly
Too true! Even at a doggy day care I've taken my Newfie to, he lays in the large bowls there and tries to curl up in the bowl.
Newfoundlands love to swim :) CUTE
Omg mine does the same thing!!!!

The guy needs a yaku
THATS WAT MY DOG DOSES
he has more fun drinking then i did during bath time XD
Odin needs a Neater Feeder

Hi hi hi hi !
My Pyrenees never did that, but they did love ice cubes.
That's just cracked me up!
(Newfie) LET ME SWIM,LET ME SWIM,LET ME SWIM!!!!!!
XD
Water dog
My angora cat does the same thing.
My German Shepherd/Husky mix does this too, I had to elevate his outside bowl so he couldn't do that anymore. Luckily he never did that with his inside bowl.
My dog does this and its funny
My dog dose that so I bought her a dog pool and she loves it ...
my dog saint Bernard dose that i dont know what i do to fix this issue ?
i think you need to put hamburger in the bowl
It's those webbed toes, they need the mosture lol
He is washing his face and hands :D
You can keep a Newf out of the water but not the water out of a Newf...
They just want to swim in it! (Even tho it's ridicoulously small for a Newfie!) For my cat-who's very naughty!-I had to get a flat, square water dish because he would knock any regular water bowl over... I love it when pets are being jerks/difficult! Why shouldn't they be? Haha. aaaawwww he is trying to swim in like 10 glasses worth of water... :D
Mighon tu est mon beau
So funny
i think you need to buy him a kids pool , so he can play and drink as much as he want. that was your sure he is never dehydrated.
my newf does that all the time!!! hahahaha!!!
My husky german shepard mix does this
no, that's not the way to narnia
@rctriplefresh5 believe it or not....he is all Newfie....at the time Odin was only 7 months old. He is just now getting his newfie tail and elbows. Funeeee!
i swear my newf does the exact thing
My Newfi roger does makes a similar mess while drinking water. But it's with his drool, not his feet
Haha wth! Look at the silly dog!! =)
@karlg182 my cat does that..he gets water everywhere he loves to play in the toilet too
what do you expect, they're water dogs LOL
lol my newfie puppy does the same thing :D
my dog saint Bernard dose that i dont know what i do to fix this issue ?
I would suggest getting her a stand for her water and food bowls. It's necessary anyway for big dogs as the constant bending can cause back and neck issues for them
My leonberger does that, or tips it over and lies in it.
Super dmz
my newfie does the same thing lol
hahaahahaha awesome dude
Where'd the water go??? That's what the dogs sayin
Nothing abnormal here, he wants to swim!
'
this dog like to handwashing in a bowl of water
It's my understanding that Newfoundlands don't need yards as they don't need the exercise that other large dogs (the the Great Pyrenees) need.
Buy him a pool☹️
Buahaha that's hilarious.
Is that a lab cross or something? I've never seen such a svelte newfie
A house is not an apartment. Apartments have no yards.
just to shake it off on you:-)
hahahaha :))
newfies are aquatic.......he jusy had to use his bowl as a pool
What do u expect they are water dogs 😂
wut lol
@TakerBride777 WoW OMG!! Like please don't!
LOL this is Newfoundland dog? Obviously you do not know what it is ...
OMGosh! Who told this person they had a Newfy ? If that isn't an English Lab than I am as wrong as the owner. I only know because I have one. Cld be wrong but don't think so!
Put the bowl in the grass.
