I just got my Newfoundland and he puts his paws in the water to drink lol we had to tie the bowl to our table because he keeps knocking it over and laying in it.
Cute pup. Newfoundlands love water. And they love to swim in it. So, no doubt, this pup was trying to tell his owner that he wanted to swim in and play in a place that held more water. Like a kiddie pool filled with water or somewhere where it’s safe for a pup to swim.
newfoundlands always 'break the ice' before drinking when they are puppies. although I haven't seen one sit in the bowl before, that's a new one. what a great looking pup.

Yes Lanceer Newf, they love water, yes they grow to be 100+pounds, these gentle giants are awesome dogs, very well manored and very loving. I own one just like this one. And if I could live on a farm I would definitely own lots more.
He is absolutely gorgeous and so clever,he’s learning how to float ready for when he goes for his first swim. He’s also testing what size rubber ring he needs for his first lesson.I have a landseer who’s now six and he has the most beautiful big eyes and always sleeps in my wet room downstairs. I love him to bits. Keep posting I would love to watch him become a very big boy.

The look on his face when he glances at the camera is adorable! I had previously believed that only spaniels could pull off that expression. I love this video. Thank you for posting it!
Having 3 Landseer's and watching this, I've come to realize that this is a complete trait of the breed. All 3 of mine always put their paws into the waterbowls, and when I "upped the ante" to a large Rubbermaid container...yup.. paws, bodies, heads all made it into them ( 3 of them).
These dogs LOVE WATER When you want to go for a swim with your Landseer you must be aware of the fact that the dog will try to rescue you and drag you back to the mainland. Therefore you must certainly be careful when doing this the first time. A basic training is necessary to let the dog know you are not in any trouble. Any other activity with the family is also something the Landseer always wants to do

that is so cute! I had a Landseer before,she died in august 2011 and i gotta say that i saw her in this video! the way the puppy looked at the camera reminded so much about her way of looking at me sometimes.
My Newfoundland used to do that exact same thing when he was a puppy. These types of breeds are natural swimmers and tend to take a swin anywhere they can. Beautiful Landseer btw!
Dethan could be my Noona's twin!! I love my newfie she's 8 months now. Same coloring though brown on top and white chest/paws. Even the white on their face ^^
