Always check out and if necessary....clean or fine sand the commutator shaft that the brushes make contact with before installing new brushes....especially if old brushes were in bad shape.😉
I highly recommend this generator! When we had that horrible ice storm freeze in Texas that left us without power for a week this generator worked flawlessly. We used 4 oil radiator heaters to heat our mobile home and it never gave us one bit of trouble. My mobile home is all electric. The water heater and stove and dryer are electric. A deep freezer, refrigerator, TV were all running off this generator. I did have to refill the 6 gallon gas tank every 8 hours of use due to using everything in my home as usual being my home is ALL electric. For a week it was very expensive to run but when you think about how many people and pets died that year I never regret the cost.
I have an 8750 Harbor Freight predator that is about 7 years old. It has worked great every time I needed it. I run it every month or so just to keep everything running ok. Today, my plan was just to run it for 10 minutes, it turns over but won't start. I came to the internet for troubleshooting advice. I stumbled onto your video. Although this is not my problem, I watched (from curiosity) anyway. I am now equipped to handle this problem if and when it arises - THANK YOU.
I learned a lot watching this. I have the same generator and love it. I use it every other day to sharpen lawn mower blades. Power lights in my shelter logic portable garage. It powers up my 60 gallon husky air compressor with ease, and a 240 volt shop heater. As well as powers up a 10,000 btu air conditioner.
We have three of this model scattered from Michigan to Florida. Glad to see it was an easy fix. Could you kindly pass along the Harbor freight part numbers for the parts that you used?
You're lucky you didn't burn out your Rotor you may want to check your brushes more regularly like every 100 hours to be safe. But does sound like a sold machine I've always ran a brushless unit but I know if I run my grinders hard I need to check them regularly I've had to change them out a few times.

Sure saved me a lot of time and heartache. been at it all day trying to figure out the problem. got my parts on order. Your video really helped us.
I bought my 8750 in 2016 during their sidewalk sale for $200. Battery and wheel kit make it easy to move and start. It has never let me down.

Thank you my 8750 is doing the same thing thanks for the video
Hi George. Yes, that repair was so simple a child could do it. Now would be a great time to do maintenance on that engine.
where dd you get the parts?
i love your tool kit ❤️
Great video and description! Thankyou!
Good video, very informative.
Should have cleaned the commutator. Scotch brite works good. Could be the reason for melted brush.
How much $$ were the parts?
Excellent video can you send me the link where I can purchase this kit THANKS
Gave me the cringies that you didn't clean up the Commutator. 😳
