I fail this zone 13 times JUST to listen to the beat. So Everytime the boss came, I let it kill me. then I got bored of that ONE act in that ONE zone. So I looked it up on Utube and got this now I could advance in levels and still look back on those tune. thanks Utube for not allowing for me to only go through only 2 zones.(Yes I did beat the game a week later😁😁😁)

why the hell you all posting that this zone is hard? it was easy. and fun as hell. the hardest part is the moving wall in act 2. (i've been playing these games since release. at one point played them constantly, and goddamn good at it.)
Easy, yes, but fun? ...Meh, only Act 1 was fun tbh.... Act 2's start was great, but after that, all the water challenge was replaced with automation instead.
Hydrocity is probably the only water level anyone likes from the old Sonic the Hedgehog games, mostly because there are plenty of places out of the water as well as under it, you now have a shield that makes being underwater a lot less hassle, and most importantly unlike other water stages like Labyrinth Zone Hydrocity is about speed & platforming rather than moving slowly trying to get to the surface while spending every 15 seconds panicking for an air bubble.
This is by far the best water stage in any Sonic game (barring Colors) simply because of the music, the water slides, and being the first time Sonic could RUN ON WATER!
I'm 30 now and was 10 back then but I STILL love the Sega Mega Drive, still love the Sonic the Hedgehog games and still love the music for all the levels. So nostalgic and catchy! Thanks for sharing this little piece of happiness :-D

In the Sonic 3 Mini boss song, the Knuckles drums are clocked in between the voice sampling never actually being heard at the same time because they're both sharing the 6th digital sampling channel while that thumping noise is coming from one of the other 5 FM channels to compensate for the absence of the official Sonic 3 drums because of MJ's voice sampling using up the space.

@maldos22 I'm actually right dude. In the Sonic 3 Mini boss song, the Knuckles drums are clocked in between the voice sampling never actually being heard at the same time because they're both sharing the 6th digital sampling channel while that thumping noise is coming from one of the other 5 FM channels to compensate for the absence of the official Sonic 3 drums because of MJ's voice sampling using up the space.
