Transforming a Yard: Helping a Disabled Elderly Lady

- Wow. This clean up was by far the most work I’ve done for one of these TH-cam videos. Also one of the most rewarding and emotional at times as well. The house has several other issues with the roof and wood siding that needs attention. These issues definitely need to be addressed and I feel good knowing that at the very least we helped by getting the trees off the house edges and the roof. By cleaning up the property and removing the small trees we cleared a path for the contractors to have access. I mean they definitely would of had a difficult, if not impossible time accessing the property before my clean up. The owner of the house said that her daughter is working with a roofer to get the repairs done very soon. It definitely was a lot of work, but was also fun watching the transformation each day. I filmed about 20 hours of work at this property and edited it down to about 1.15 hours. I took a ton of video out and I didn’t film everything. There was just too much for my iPhone to handle as I ran out of storage. I am trying to save and purchase a decent camera and some more equipment. I am still very new at filming and editing as I had zero experience in this field. I know the video is long but I did take out a ton and didn’t really want to break it up. It’s easy to skip around as that’s what I do all the time when watching videos on TH-cam. I am working on filming better and uploading better quality videos. The support from everyone watching has been so awesome and I just want to thank everyone who takes the time to watch. It blows my mind how family and neighbors let a person's yard get in this condition without helping them . Then a total stranger such as yourself will come in and work so hard to help. May you be blessed for all your efforts. You have a big, loving heart. THANK YOU
Wouldn't it be wonderful if someone came in and put in grass and painted her house. Would be nice for her to live the rest of her days out knowing she had a nice place to live and would be able to sit out in the yard and enjoy it on cool days

It might be possible that neighbors and family have a busy live of their own ??
If you're that busy you can always hire someone to help your love one that's disabled..no-one checks in on her at all , mold is probably inside..what a shame

I watch a lot of yard transformations, but this one was truly the best. I wish I was there to help you. I love yard work. I can’t say enough to thank you. I agree. But not just contractors. People that work in offices are capable of donating money to projects like this.
My Dad was 1of a kind th lady next to them was lone my parents sent a plate of supper every night with enough for lunch day next for 25 yrs he mowed her yard set her garbage out when the lady across the street lost her husband he mowed set her garbage out. Once while raking her leaves she gave my nephew money ,lol my brother made him give it back,we take care of our neighbors ,my dad passed many yrs ago but his lessons have went far.

That was just extraordinary!!! I loved this little lady from the start because I noticed she feeds the stray cats and I do that too, bless her good heart. I do have a suggestion...there is a channel in England I follow that does similar yard transformations and was helping an elderly man with his yard and noticed his windows were rotting, etc. He started a GoFundMe and got donations of 7,000 pounds sterling from subscribers to do the repairs. If you do that I would be happy to put in a few dollars to help. God bless!

I would like to see someone maintain yards like this maybe every 6 months to a year, so it doesn't get into this type of condition again! It's plain she can't keep it as nice as you have made it. Nice job.

My husband takes care of our nextdoor neighbor's lawn as well as ours. He does this out of the goodness of his heart because he knows they can't do it themselves and lawncare services are hard for people on fixed incomes.
She will even see sunshine in her yard again! How lovely that will be for her. Thank you.

That was a very touching video. It’s been a month since then. I hope you went back to see the progress if any. I can’t believe no one seen the mess, condition of the house and never helped. I do hope all you video makers can maybe make a joint effort and share the video as a group effort and maybe get her house a makeover together. You did such a wonderful thing! This is where our tax money should be going. We need to help our senior citizens to live with dignity in their own homes. Their yards don't get this way because they don't care. They get this way because they are sick, or not as able, or out of money to afford responsible help. Thank God you want to help them. Right!! There are a lot of people on set incomes that cannot afford to pay. Much less do it themselves . Good idea!
My mother died of COPD. She loved her home so much. She gardened until she could not. Her yard was the most elegant in the neighborhood. Unfortunately only I, her daughter, came to help her. My siblings did absolutely nothing but fight over who would get her estate even though they are rich. They yelled and screamed at her. They made her life a nightmare. I am ill every time I think of what she went through. God forgive them. Strangers and neighbors can be kinder than greedy grown children. It is sad someone else takes this responsibility. Thank God for this man and others like him that God sends.

I’m sure several people enjoy the music. I would much rather hear the tools of you working and traffic going by. Thank you for caring for those that can no longer do for themselves. Like the comment before I don’t understand why neighbors don’t help each other out. I’m 74 and can afford to pay for things I can no longer do. That being said, we all watch out for each other and if it is just taking or picking one’s trash from the curb or taking their mail up to the door. God blessed each of us with a caring heart so thank you for “Doing unto others as you would have them do unto you”💕

Great work and awesome video! Over the past couple of years I reached a point where I was subscribed to dozens of similar channels (way too many). I noticed a number of channels, especially the ones that have built a huge subscriber base, have gone downhill it terms of the quality of the work they do. Many of them have declined from being genuinely caring yard care pros that pioneered the world of YT, to pure entrepreneurs that cut corners (but not yards so well anymore) and it's really noticeable - seems they just want the $. I still appreciate the fact they are helping others who need help, but I've unsubscribed to all but 12. I now have 13 because today I added your channel 🙂
I've observed the same regarding other channels stepping down their work after gaining so many subscribers.
