Great technique. Only one tip, when you have exposed brown paper, you're supposed to seal it with a sealer/primer or it may bubble when you go over with mud. * Not sure if it was done and maybe the sealer is clear and looks invisible.*

    • @KollynJ

It hardly matters. In all my years as a general contractor, I’ve hardly seen a difference when adding and when not adding… we used 123 primer (red one I think) way back when but after a while we just stopped since it hardly made a difference for us… we do use 20 minutes for large sized gaps however versus the blue/green mud buckets you’d get at Home Depot
Her technique reminded me of the guy who taught me the basics of placing mud… I could never understand how the used the index and middle for that since I use my thumb to press since my two fingers get tired compared to my thumb lol
Everything else he taught me I actually do tho since I respect him but I definitely shouldn’t copy everything he does since I’m young, arrogant and would like to find the stuff that works for me

I've been painting and drywalling for 22 years and this lady knows what she's doing, great job, the hard part for me is drywalling remodels, sometimes the framing may be off so when you hang the sheetrock sometimes there's unevenness, highs and lows on joint's and that's when you turn your knife perpendicular and use it as a level to know what side to float more and wider so the seams gradually fade away. Thank you for this video also.

You need to keep that thing cleaned and oiled put it in water when you're not using it, learn how the pin works, learn how to use the tool and not Jam the gun. Work smart not hard you're calling people lazy cuz you obviously can't operate a piece of machinery and know how to fix the problem or prevent it from happening.
Obviously you've never run the gun for 8 hours in your life it's far from lazy I'd have you running in circles with mud all over your face pulling your hair out trying to wipe down behind me LOL
