  • How to coat corner bead like a pro and get perfect results! I am using a Sheetrock Tools 8" Blue Steel knife, 14" pan and USG Plus 3 thinned down with some water. One of the biggest tips I can give you is make sure you are feathering your edges and slowly building up your coats. That will make for a better finish and easier sanding!

Your tip on angling the blade away from the corner is great! Thanks again for a concise detailed explanation how you do it! Keep up the good work!

What kind of corner bead is this? I heard you explaining the difference between the metal ones but I didn’t catch the name of this type of corner bead

I'm having heal w/feathering edges of any mudding. Do you have any tips or is just practice a lot?

Sure, experiment with using a different knife. Some people cut their edges with a smaller knife like a 5" or 6" and then use the bigger knife. Try cutting the edge a little bit further in or further out to see what you like the best. It's all about practice and what works the best for you!

Is this considered a 2nd coat or 1st coat?
Is embedding tape the 1st coat?

This would be first coat - its the first time mud is being applied to this corner bead.

My daughter is a Lydia and she's been getting her first exposure to the trade at 7. Hopefully she'll be a MD, for your sake at least 😄
