    I worked with a 328 baler in the late 70-ies, early 80-ies. I loved working with it. It ran very smooth, made very good and firm bales and it almost never had any issues. We also baled for other farmers with it. Great machine.

      It's a really nice baler. My first John Deere. Always ran New Holland but thought I'd try JD. Haven't been disappointed. Thanks for watching!!

    Nice baler. Don't know how accurate that counter is either but, somebody has a lot of bales to pick up & put in the barn. LOL Those were some healthy looking windrows, that's for sure. Thanks for the ride along & sharing with us. Take care.

      had an uncle who bought one new at very reduced price as it wouldnt tie knots....got it home and found out the dealership didnt know how to set timing of needles. He had it corrected in half a day,,,used it many years....and yes,,,he had lotsa bales to pick up but it sure was easier than doing it with a pitch fork and mule rake that he had used prior. I remember those days, pitching hay onto a wagon while walking aside, with one guy on top to walk around to pack it. Then to the barn to do it all over again as you pitched it allllll over head into the loft. What a hot, dusty job!!! You guys who have never done this dont know how much fun you are missing....

    That’s a great baler, give it time and you will really like it. We run a JD 348 and it make a terrific bale of hay. It’s not to expensive, but we added hydraulic tension to our baler and it eliminates fussing with the cranks. Good luck!

    • @stinsonfarms6724
      @stinsonfarms6724  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it's running off 540. The 328 runs around 10 strokes per minute slower than the 359, 338,348 ect. I didn't realize it until after had bought it. I've learned to slow down and not push it to make better bales. Thanks for watching!!

    That baler will flat eat the hay. Our old New Holland 315 about A2 with the John Deere 4230 is all you could run with it. Most of the time you were in A1 and having to use the clutch to keep from choking it up.

    • @stinsonfarms6724
      @stinsonfarms6724  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The best baler I've ever used is a 311 New Holland. IT would take hay a lot better than the John Deere does. I Baled 650 bale Friday and never could get faster than A2. Thanks for watching!!

      @@stinsonfarms6724 I havent used any hay behind a newer John Deere but I know that hay out of a New Holland square baler normally feeds easier. I've had first hand experience with it in the winter time feeding pads of hay into the old International 1150 grinder mixer.

    • @stinsonfarms6724
      @stinsonfarms6724  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with that. I think the New Holland has a higher stroke per minute rate than the John Deere. That will cause the bales to have smaller fleeks out of the New Holland. The John Deere tends to put more hay in the bale before it cuts it. I like the New Holland balers better but I bought a John Deere because of price.
