Steven Universe only got away with represenation cause they were all like "technically it's not gay cause they are genderless beings" and all that. But here we ACTUALLY get REAL TEENAGE GIRLS having crushes over each other, soooo many blushes and genuinely accurate represenation to anyone who has experienced having a crush on someone of the same sex as your own. I read somewhere that the color purple has been associated with independence and pride. so her getting that haircut and changing her hair color to purple is symbolic of her feelings for Luz *and* as a stepping stone from getting out of her mom's grasp. I love it so much

It's not Belos. Phillip made the door. If it was Belos, then he wouldn't need the door from Luz. He could just make another. Belos is currently rebuilding Phillip's door. He could be a half blood descendant of Phillip, but Belos is not Phillip.
If he was Phillip he would be hundreds of years old with a failing body sustained by the lifeblood of palismans. It would be very possible that he forgot the exact recipe and/or has been looking for the ingredients for awhile. And as to how Phillip Wittebane could live long enough to become Emperor Belos my guess would be Titan's blood which could explain why he and the titan are seemingly connected.
I doubt he remember he is human. He seem to really buy into his own bullshit. Also conservation of character rule dictate it is him. The story is how he went from that to what he is today. Which is more interesting story than he being a descendant.

It was great that Gus finally got his moment in the spotlight and was able to unleash the full potential he had locked away all through the series. I love how Gus learns that he should be proud of his illusions and that he can do many great things and to prove them wrong to those who look down upon him. For a minute there I thought Gus would be crushing on Bria but I was shocked when they turned out to be antagonists and even more shocked that Matt showed the good side to himself. Dana Terrace must have foughtat least ten times harder than Rebecca Sugar did to get her kiss scene!!
Maybe, though I suspect Rebecca Sugar's efforts years ago softened things up quite a bit. "Jailbreak" debuted over 6 years ago, in 2015. "Korrasami" had just happened and that moment was saved for the last minutes of the "The Legend of Korra." These strides have allowed Dana to take things even further, as we've now seen. This in no way takes away from the boldness of Dana and her crew. Even Sir Isaac Newton famously said his achievements were possible because he "stood on the shoulders of giants."
There is tremendous momentum now and this is just the beginning. I can't see this being their last intimate interaction and am expecting Luz to return the favor. :-D
Honestly, probably not. The Owl House I'd the most recent cartoon with representation, so the shows that came before it probably helped make it more easy.
Look at it this way: Legend of Korra walked, so The Owl House could run.

I’m really glad I’m not the only one who absolutely LOVES Amity’s new hair style and especially its color 💜💜💜💜💜I fell in love with color on her when I got a full glance of it!!! I think it really suits her! And I can honestly say I did my first FULL ON FANGIRLING when I saw the cheek kiss, l then I fangirled a second time when Luz just collapsed to the floor in shock that I laughed so much in utter glee!
