By the way. Flapjack was the name he spoke to Hunter in episode 9 of S2. It was revealed in an audio released by Dana on Twitch. So Caleb is Philip's brother's name.
I think the reason Belos said “Caleb” is because his brother’s name is Caleb, hence why flapjack told Hunter to call himself Caleb, and that leads onto the theory that Flapjack once belonged to “Caleb”
@@herecomesdatboi3248 Belos killed Caleb, presumably his brother, but his Palisman, Flapjack, survived. Why else would he be named after something human?

Fun fact: When the collector "kills" Belos, there was supposed to be a "splash zone" where everyone dodged Belos' remains, EXCEPT HUNTER. And the scene where everyone is lying about playing The Owl House, instead of smiling, hunter was supposed to sob. Just think about it, Hunter sobbing, covered in his "uncle's" remains.. holy SH*T???? THANKFULLY the team decided that would be too much for a kid's show so they ended up cutting it.
The amount of masks in the Grimmwalker scene wasn't the most disturbing part for me. I expected Belos to have made and killed a lot of them. What bothered me was Kikimora knew about all of them, and not only enabled Belos to continue doing it, but was willing to hand a child over to Belos to presumably be killed.
Based on how Kikimora was acting at the end and what she said…I think she knew everyone was going to die. I think that was a last, pitiful attempt as saving her own life; and she knew it likely wouldn’t work
Fun fact: based on how many masks there are compared to how long Philipp has been in the demon realm, hunter is probably already older than the average golden guard.
Yea Kiki knew everything but was still wanting to d*ck ride Belos and kiss his ass hoping that he would come around and make her his right new right hand man when in reality she was nothing but a tool and a pawn for him.
Fun fact: The day this was released in America, it was raining in Connecticut... And here was me thinking Dana couldn't scare me any more than she already does.
Fryda does SUCH an amazing job with delivering the collector's lines. The vocal fry she did with the "liar liar liar" line was like a brain tickle, I love her voice sfm
When season 2 started King said something along the lines of- “I’M NEVER LETTING YOU GO BACK TO THE HUMAN RELAM!” Season 2 ended with him blasting her through the portal against her will.
According to TV Tropes, when Philip/Belos said his brother's name, upon seeing his old Palisman, Flapjack, even though he didn't go out of his way to truly forget his brother, and still thinks fondly of their time together, he said his name with a *_snarl_* and went into a berserker rage 😰😱, implying he *_hated_* Caleb as he truly was 😥😰. That's why his eyes were slashed in the paintings in his mind, because he refused to *accept* or even try to _remember_ him as he truly was 🥺😣😔.
So obviously the Collector is one of them, but who is the second person? Are you talking about Kiki? Without Kiki being sad, she would’ve never brought King to the Collector.
I'm honesly glad Phillip's story isn't over just yet. There's still so much we need to know about his backstory. Also we BETTER get a human realm date for Lumity. And Dana said that season 3 is well written and she really likes the way she's made it, so I'll trust her judgement on season 3.
I honestly think Phillip is finished as the main antagonist. The Collector literally pasted the jerk onto the wall. You don't fully recover from that. And even if he can regenerate himself at least partially, glyph magic doesn't work in the human realm. He'd be just some old guy without magic to hold him together. His days are numbered. So ether he's going to make one last attempt at revenge only to get chancla'ed, or he can reluctantly provide info to help Luz and co to help save humanity (the only thing he cares about) before finally dying.
I don’t know why, it’s my imagination, but I always wanted a wittabane descendant to help them get back to the demon realm, and Philip would only help them because that descendant asked him to. Just my theory to “save humanity from evil”
33:38 Also, can we talk about how heartbreaking this is to see Luz’s mom with the missing article for Anne? Like one could imagine that article next to her is to represent any parent’s worst fear that something happened to their child, similar to Anne and her friends being missing for 2 months. While it’s a nod to Amphibia & The Owl House seemingly taking place in the same universe, it’s also to depict that same fear of losing a family member, a mother’s worry of losing her child 🥺
A deeply depressing thought I had was that the only way Hooty would let himself get captured like that when we know how good he is in a fight is if someone threatened Lilith.
So to recap: - Belos was lying to The Collector all along -The Emperor's Coven was in on Eda's plan all along - The Collector is now our primary threat - Eda is now an amputee - Everyone on the Boiling Isles is either dead or missing - The kids are now stranded on Earth
@@madisonmoore9461 yes but King said that they would need an entire Island of people so I doubt the collector killed them because he really wanted to play with king

I feel like if Disney hadn’t cut the show short this would have been the mid season 3 finale before a hiatus with Hollow Mind being the season 2 finale. Feels right from the pacing that season 1 had.

This will probably go down as the weirdest day in Camila’s life. Her daughter that's been missing for who knows how long just shows up on the doorstep covered in scrapes and bruises with four other equally battered children who are witches and Luz also got a girlfriend while she was gone.
Phillip: I'm a witch hunter from the 1600s, the only true power is God and I hate magic. If you thought I was telling the truth, that's your problem, not mine.

@@yourlocalwaifu8601 Not the most conventional finale, but it was still amazing. Gotta love slice-of-life episodes, especially with how fast-paced this season was.
I don't think that the collector realises that he's doing anything wrong, but he had to be sealed because immaturity and omnipotence are a beyond lethal combination
Fun little thing the some of community noticed; When The Collector is floating at 30:46 and his hat floats a bit, you can see that their ears are round!
The fact that GUS out of all of them broke down as soon as they arrived to the human realm… the youngest kid who’s dream it was to someday become an ambassador for the human realm… I lost it 🥲
Right?!?! He’s a kid, he’s still maybe twelve or thirteen compared to the 14-16 year old others, he’s gone through so much and now he’s locked away from his home and family in an unfamiliar world, poor kid
It could also be because Gus went through Belos memories in the fight. He had to experience the life of Belos, from killing his brother to murdering witches to creating tens of Grimwalkers that all died inevitably. It’s awful.
I'm glad you found the "boop" funny; I found it terrifying. One of the most fearsome concepts for me is the idea of a child having the powers of a god.
Of course he did, that’s his entire belief system. He was a witch hunter, an entire realm of the single group he hates deserves to be destroyed completely in his eyes ☹️ he’s a sick man, but very well written
I love how, we all know how much of a powerhouse Amity is, if she didn’t have to worry Luz she probably could hold her own against Belos (not win, but definitely have the skills and smarts to hold him off long enough to find an escape), yet when Belos was going for the final blow, Luz’s first instinct is to cover and protect her girlfriend!
Me realizing that since season 3 was basically canceled and we have only three 44 minute specials we're probably not going to have the gang exploring the human realm because of limited time: I have never been more pissed in my entire life
I also realized this after a few rewatches, but when the collector started transforming everything around luz and her friends, the collector basically took apart the titan's (kings dad) skull and split it in pieces, revolving around all of them
Words can't express how much it *MEGALADON SUCKS* that we won't have a proper 20-episode Season 3. It did make me feel a bit better though when Dana took to Matt Braly's Twitter to say this: *I'd just like people to go into s3 without a defeatist POV. Yes, the shortening stinks but limitation breeds innovation and we get to go some wild places we never even THOUGHT of before. It'll be fun! :)* Don't forget to keep rewatching and rewatching the show on Disney + as much as possible. This will increase the chances of TOH spinoffs and shorts coming to fruition! More adventures and screentime with these characters we love!
Disney: Yo this isn't our brand sorry fam Dana: Oh it sure as hell won't be anymore- *ensue dark themes and emotional damage* She finally has freedom to do what she wanted with the owl house and I am here for it! Imagine what a full 4 seasons of her actual vision would have looked like
Arcane needed 3 episodes to pull off its final act, and that's with only 6 episodes of build up. Taking out the filler and side plots means we get something that's focused on the actual main story, and that's not a bad thing.
Alright, some things I would like to point out because yes. 1. In 19:31 when Hunter immediately went to Darius to see if he’s alright, I *ascended.* I- JUST *THEM.* 2. Throughout the Collecter VS Belos confrontation, the music fit SO WELL with the Collecter’s character! It has a very jester-y and playful vibe to it and it was a really nice touch. 3. At 33:50 I SCREAMED WHEN I REWATCHED AND SAW HUNTER PUTTING HIS ARM OVER GUS BECAUSE GUS WAS CRYING BEFORE AND HUNTER WANTED TO COMFORT HIM. It gives big bro energy that I’M FUCKING HERE FOR IT!!! Also, Amity looking all proper because she wants to look nice for Camila. 4. There isn’t a time stamp for this, but after I watched the full episode for the first time, I realized a really sad thing. All of them had to lose people they love to escape. Luz lost Eda, King, Lilith, Hooty, and all the other friends she made. Amity lost her Dad, her Mom (if she still cares), older siblings, and other friends she had. Willow lost her Dads, most of her flier derby teammates, and other friends she made. Gus lost his Dad, the flier derby teammates, and others he had befriended (like Matholemule). And Hunter lost his familial-figure (Darius), the flier derby teammates, and Steve (they seem to be pretty buddy-buddy). Anyways, these are things that I noticed and anyone can correct me if I am wrong about something! :) Edit: ALSO, THE EXTRA BIT AT THE WAY END OF THE EPISODE?? BRUHHH. I am scared at what’s in store. 😅
belos called him caleb because his brothers name was caleb, you can see in the images and newspapers etc that caleb himself had a bird palismen (which i’m guessing-if the theory is true-was a gift from the clawthorne family, seeing as they worked with palismen)
Collecter is like a weird balance of chaos in boiling isles. So powerful, innocent, cute and horrified at the same time. gosh, I need the next season right now😖
See here's one thing I don't understand why would he be trapped because don't get me wrong yes he's very powerful but with a parental figure that can be fixed so what if the collector was split into two and was putting two separate discs
I somewhat suspect that this is how V is going to come back into the plot, by taking away the Collector's magic so they can just be a normal kid and not yeet people into the stratosphere with a "boop!"
Someone noticed that after Phillip said to Kiki: go and find a hole where you can rot. She went to the stairs of the pit of failure. The draining spell struck her as she was on her way down and staying there.
30:52. Upon rewatch, I noticed when The Collector says they're gonna need an Owl House and begins reshaping the area it's cylindrical. Like a tube. Were they creating a massive Hooty? 😱 Also Wendy is the reason I love Eda so much. 💖
I love that you used the Collector's music for the rant about his appearance. I can't wait to hear more of it in season 3. Brad Breeck has such a great way of encapsulating the emotions and personalities of characters, it's incredible. Speaking of, he's also the composer for Gravity Falls. Another show I'm VERY glad you're going to see, you will enjoy it so much! Owl House took plenty of inspiration from that show, given Alex Hirsch is the voice of Hooty and King. Loved your reactions as always!
10:20 I actually really like this about Phillip. It's not personal for him, he's been at the whole "witch hunting" business for so long that he just doesn't care anymore. In his mind, he pulled the trigger on all the witches and now he's clocking out.
So when the Collector said, "Your father wouldn't let me play with you" I feel like/My theory is that the Collector wasn’t sealed away because he is evil. The Collector was sealed away because he takes his games to the extreme and becomes way too dangerous. At some point he tried to play with King as an egg, but King’s dad wasn’t having it so he sealed the collector away so he couldn't hurt anyone with his extreme games- Especially since the Collector is a dangerous god, with the mind and personality of a child-
I tell ya, when Hunter squeeked I was like, "He just watched his murdering abusive uncle one shot... This boy has been through so much trauma." and then after the end I was waiting for everyone to break down in tears. Now stuck in the human realm and none of them BUT luz have parents. Plus Hunter is going to see that statue of his uncle and "Father" he was cloned from. BTW, Dana's Twitter has bonus art of them all cuddled up and bandaged inside while sleeping with Vee next to them with a first aid box.
I think that the Titan, himself, really did try to keep the glyphs away from Belos/Philip, but *_gave_* them to Luz, probably because her love for magic and the Isles, was stronger than his hatred for them 🤔😉.
One thing I found powerful - Belos mentioning 'another human life destroyed by this place'. I think that's how he justified killing his brother. That Caleb was 'tainted' by his relationship with a witch.
I have my own theory that Phillip didn't mean to kill his brother,he wanted to kill the witch, but Caleb realized that and quickly jumped in front of her,the witch then manage to escape, and potentially curse Phillip. She keept living her life in peace with the chilled she had with Caleb, like he wode have wanted. Phillip blames the witch for cursing him and for his brother's death and spends his holle life trying to eliminate the witches who "corrupted" his brother. Also, since we basically know at this point the witch was a Clawthorn, she and Caleb probably carved Flapjack togheter, since the Clawthorns are famous for their carving palisments abilitys
@@kandymae Given the sound of the tone they made when saying "I'm it," wouldn't lie if I thought for a moment they were thoroughly pissed off. But then again the scene immediately afterward was them innocently taking note that Luz and the others were also too slow and offering them a head start.
To be fair, I would argue that Hunter really should be the one to finally do away with Philip, and yeah all of them in the human world was a pretty great surprise and a solid set up for the next stage.
I have faith that the Collector is not evil and they just need a friend and a family. Enter King. And I can see Eda and Raine being good parents to them just like Camilla with Vee and Darius with Hunter.
Let me see. Cliffhanger ending, some of the supporting characters are left behind and protagonist and friends are now in human world and will try to find an alternate way back to stop big bad. WHERE HAVE I SEEN THAT BEFORE? It's Amphibia season 2 all over again! Get my therapist on the line! 😫😭
Also when King gets concussed, when Hunter helps Willow up, if you listen closely Hunter actually calls her by her actual name 😭😭😭😭 Huntlow/Winter fans, we just got a meal
the cool thing about the collector is that he's literally a child who is also a god. he acts the way a five year old would if they had infinite powers. he's not a villain because he's evil, he's a villain because his powers are just too destructive.
@@MammalianCreature And Goku can't beat multiversal+ beings what's your point? Perhaps what I said before was a little unorthodox bill wasn't relevant to the conversation. I'm sorry
So, Camila has her work cut out for her between: - Living in Connecticut - Being a single mother - Working overnight as a veterinarian - And now taking care of six children
I thought so, and Dana confirmed it, that after Philip saw Flapjack, he yelled "Caleb." I knew since *Any Sport in a Storm* it was the name of his deceased brother
My personal bets on the human world 1: Exploring the human past of the Wittebane brothers, which probably involves a local legend about how the two brothers disappeared one day "Looking for witches" during the Connecticut Witch Trials 2: Gus realizing that our world has its own level of suck, but also its own kind of special beauty 3: Fears over being found out by the actual authorities 4: Finally, Luz and Camila facing each other over their own stumbling blocks, and Amity acting as the bridge between the two since she's able to see that Camila is a far better mother than hers could ever be, and showing how Luz has grown and learned on the Boiling Isles.
During the credits, you see the belos goop stuff fall off the ceiling in the old house, which shows that he did actually make it to the human realm. The goop stuff is what belos became because he absorbed too many palismen, which contains a lot of magic energy. So could they use the belos goop as a substitute for titans blood to get back to the boiling isles?
Let’s take a moment to realize how close Luz and Amity came to being separated possibly forever. King sacrificed himself ensuring that Luz and Amity would stay together. Not only did he protect five high school age kids, he protected our girls and put them in a world safe from the Collector. This means they have all the time in the world and can finally go on that date in the human realm. Praise King, the hero who saved Lumity!😭🥰👍
Notes on the Episode (Very long): First Off: The Palismen are SO cute and everyone is just Hangry. Second: Belos' roast to Kikishorta, SOMEBODY CALL THE HEALING COVEN CAUSE SOMEONE GOT BURNED! Third: Huntlow moment, Hunter is so cute with those blushes Fourth: Terra and Graye being bitches for unveiling Eda. And a fight between all the Coven heads. Darius being done with everyone's shit, but stopping to spare Eberwolf. Fifth: Luz being clever as always with getting Belos with a coven sigil Sixth: Eberwolf's little grunt is adorable, but Terra finally realizing that Paradise ain't in her future. Seventh: Willow being badass keeping Belos at bay with her vines. Eighth: Kikishorta redemption? Ninth: Hollow Mind memory flashbacks and Caleb name being Confirmed! Tenth: All the Grimwalker remains!!!! Eleventh: The Collector, His amazing Theme, and him yeeting Belos across the room like he's nothing! Twelfth: Belos goop attached to Hunter (later realizing he might now be in the Human Realm!) Thirteenth: King calling Luz his sister, The door doesn't work after being blasted into the Human Realm, The music change, Gus breaks into tears! I cried for 3 hours straight (not exaggerating actually). Fourteenth: The Amphibia reference made me smile a small bit in the middle of the crying. A great episode, a great reaction, I cannot wait for Season 3!
Apparently the original idea for Belos’s destruction was that there would be a splatter that everyone but hunter avoided. Covering him in his dead “uncle”.
All the other kids are like "Haha..whomst is this?!?" and meanwhile Hunter's sitting there with full context and magic pain crawling up his arm looking at the grease stain formerly known as Philip like [INTERNAL SCREAMING]
If I had a nickel for every time a cast of main characters got teleported to earth after an heroic sacrifice in the season 2 finale of a disney show I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice.
One would think that such a meme template would have very few highly specific uses, but it surprises me just how often I see it used, and to good results
I think the Collector's skin being both orange and blue is a deliberate design choice. Blue-and-orange morality refers to the mindset of a character no one else can possible fathom or understand, so his craziness is reflected in his skin tones.
I wasn't expecting the piles of bones and broken golden guard masks. The idea he just tossed them down there after their deaths shocked me. And yet since Hollow Mind I've not stopped thinking about the grimwalker reveal. We don't know how many bones are needed to create one. And the human body have 206 bones + with the 300 yrs Philip has been around means he could've made a lot of grimwalkers.
32:00 Luz did a Spider-Man 2 reference when Spider-Man was stopping the Train and Spider-Man Home Coming reference when Spider-Man was holding the boat together
The fact that Kiki’s eavesdropping and pettiness is what helps save the day. Beautiful. The fact that we finally got confirmation that Whittebro was named Caleb and Flapjack was his palisman… So good. The Collector is so terrifying. All that power in the body of someone that is or has the temperament of a child is… horrifying. So since the Owl House and Amphibia are in the same universe, think Sasha would be willing to give these traumatized kids some therapy. Oh I’m excited for Kipo.
Maybe we will see vee luz and her friends and her girlfriend be helped by anne sasha and marcy when going back to the demon realm and defeating belos and the collector.
Wendie’s voice acting is a part of why Eda is honestly my favorite character on this show! Ps you missed the post credit scene from this episode! Spoiler: Philip is loose
"You want to help? Go find a hole to wither away in." Dude, that is f**king savage. I know she's a b*tch, but damn! Belos is now on my list of animated characters I want to thank and punch at the same time.
I've got to give credit to Philip. He learned the most powerful magic and as he said, Luz is decades away from beating him in a one on one fight. He beat all the kids when they were working together. The only reason why they're still alive is because of the Collector.
There are so many crossover shoutouts between the shows. Way back in S2E8, there's if you look carefully at the shelves in the basement, you can see a depowered calamity box. Hunter has a plushie which looks exactly like Sprig under his pillow in S2E13. Willow's "swamp toad" textbook in S2E2 has a picture of what looks more like a certain elderly swamp FROG. On Amphibia's side, there's a couple things that sort of looked like Owl House characters (a skull that resembled King's for example), but the unambiguous one was in S3E8 where a monitor shows an artfully blurred, but distinct picture of the Owl House itself.
I love how Belos beats the shit out of the entire main nearly effortlessly gang but then Enzo Gabriel just casually walks in and turns him into a fucking puddle
Can we talk about Gus breaking down first that broke my heart. He’s the youngest of the group and he saw the memories of Philip which means he knows what happened and knows what Hunter is and how Luz helped Phillip get the Collector
Why does everyone say that Gus knows about Luz helping Phillip? Pretty sure he didn't go through literally ALL of Phillips memories, it seems like Gus only knows about Caleb and the grimwalkers.
I missed the end credits bonus in the video, but I did go back and watch it once I found out. CRAZZYYYYY!!!!

Its Venom Belos time
@@Dragonblade722 at the end credits you can see belos's gloop hand close the door. So I don't think we've seen the last of him

The fact that Belos could of gone back anytime after eclipse lake but he waited to kill everyone on the boiling isles first before he left LIKE DAMN.
Of course he did, that’s his entire belief system. He was a witch hunter, an entire realm of the single group he hates deserves to be destroyed completely in his eyes ☹️ he’s a sick man, but very well written
Gotta love how Amity’s standing so respectfully for Camilla. She wants to make a good first impression on her gf’s mom.
Course she does
I mean that’s how she was raised
#mommyissues
I'd wanna impress Camila too.
Me realizing that since season 3 was basically canceled and we have only three 44 minute specials we're probably not going to have the gang exploring the human realm because of limited time:
I have never been more pissed in my entire life
I also realized this after a few rewatches, but when the collector started transforming everything around luz and her friends, the collector basically took apart the titan's (kings dad) skull and split it in pieces, revolving around all of them
Kinda gives me naruto reviving dead corpses vibe...

She finally has freedom to do what she wanted with the owl house and I am here for it!
1. In 19:31 when Hunter immediately went to Darius to see if he’s alright, I *ascended.* I- JUST *THEM.*
Edit: ALSO, THE EXTRA BIT AT THE WAY END OF THE EPISODE??

I actually really like this about Phillip. It's not personal for him, he's been at the whole "witch hunting" business for so long that he just doesn't care anymore. In his mind, he pulled the trigger on all the witches and now he's clocking out.
Plus he's so repulsed by the. That he can't wait to leave as soon as possible
So when the Collector said, "Your father wouldn't let me play with you" I feel like/My theory is that the Collector wasn’t sealed away because he is evil. The Collector was sealed away because he takes his games to the extreme and becomes way too dangerous. At some point he tried to play with King as an egg, but King’s dad wasn’t having it so he sealed the collector away so he couldn't hurt anyone with his extreme games- Especially since the Collector is a dangerous god, with the mind and personality of a child-
Thinking the same thing too!
I tell ya, when Hunter squeeked I was like, "He just watched his murdering abusive uncle one shot... This boy has been through so much trauma." and then after the end I was waiting for everyone to break down in tears. Now stuck in the human realm and none of them BUT luz have parents. At 33:52 when Hunter is holding Gus is so adorable 🤗🤗🤗🤗
One thing I found powerful - Belos mentioning 'another human life destroyed by this place'. I think that's how he justified killing his brother. That Caleb was 'tainted' by his relationship with a witch.

It's also just fitting for the sun and moon theme
I wasn't expecting the piles of bones and broken golden guard masks. The idea he just tossed them down there after their deaths shocked me.
And yet since Hollow Mind I've not stopped thinking about the grimwalker reveal. We don't know how many bones are needed to create one. And the human body have 206 bones + with the 300 yrs Philip has been around means he could've made a lot of grimwalkers.
32:00 Luz did a Spider-Man 2 reference when Spider-Man was stopping the Train and Spider-Man Home Coming reference when Spider-Man was holding the boat together
15:39 the cute nurses work at Hexside! They treated Amelia and Boscha when they got injured during Amity's last game as grudgby team captain!

"You want to help? Go find a hole to wither away in." Dude, that is f**king savage. I know she's a b*tch, but damn! Belos is now on my list of animated characters I want to thank and punch at the same time.
Same tho

That scene would’ve been even more horrifying if the storyboard artists had gotten their way and Hunter had been showered in his uncle’s guts.
