Yeah, they understand that after so much buildup, we need time to enjoy the payoff before the series is over. It can also create more tension when we start to wonder how things will be resolved.
That, and Lumity becoming canon was put in the same episode as, like, ALL the lore, so it’s almost impossible to gloss over smoothly. Take that, censorship!
@@peachykeen53 You’re right, I heard Philippines just canceled the series flat out. Sadly they’re can be a lot done with editing though. I remember rewatching Digimon and realized when they got a ride from one of “their cousins,” was definitely them getting a ride from a stranger.
So I work at a mental health facility for teens, and I actually use the part of this episode where Eda learns to accept her curse in some of my classes. It’s a truly wonderful metaphor for learning to accept the “ugly” side of yourself. In my classes I frame this in terms of mental health, though it could be interpreted as reflecting any number of chronic conditions. But whatever it is, these parts of us that cause us pain that we can’t wish away, denying them or trying to fight them off as foreign usually doesn’t work. We have to learn to accept them for what they are, and learn to incorporate them as parts of who WE are without letting them control or define us. It’s an incredibly nuanced and lovely metaphor for chronic conditions of all kinds.
And the fact that’s in an episode most people assumed would be filler and is titled ‘Knock Knock Knocking on Hooty’s Door’ will forever be one of my greatest joys in all of television!

The line “I have no idea what my future holds, but it would be so cool if you were in it.” Is so good. I’m not sure WHY it got to me so much… maybe bc it’s so simple and down to earth. There’s no fluff there, no dressing it up or dancing around it. The line itself, the way it was delivered by the VA, the atmosphere… It’s just so unbelievably *real*
It is such a great line but at the same time, it feels too much like a Dana forbearing moment. A hint of things to come in the future of this and possibly next season. Disney NEEDS to make this a more than 3 season show! Give the fans a movie! Something!

Hooty: Gains respect and admiration of entire fandom by giving us King Power, Harpy Eda, canon Lumity, Demon Info, Eda's past, and Magical Door info all in one episode. Also Hooty: Loses it in 1.5 seconds by eating the only lead we had on King's father.
Is everyone going to ignore the fact that Eda’s every dream since the curse must’ve been a nightmare? For 30 years? Which is probably why she drinks apple blood every morning?
Her dreams were her being too stubborn, angry, lonely, and rejected by her friends and family(or at least the perceived side of it for her since she pushed everyone away after her father was hurt). Think about it, she could have become the owl-harpy lady much, much sooner but she had to first let King, Luz into her life and heart before she could then let her sister, and her mother back into her life to heal enough to finally accept the Owl.
ok but Raine knowing about Eda's curse is just something so personal for me. Like, she clearly didn't want anyone to know but she did told them, you can sense how much they matter to her * cries in eda's requiem *
im pretty sure most people know, given how her curse was revealed in Lilith's flashback in season 1. there is no real sign of anyone trying to hide it. most people know it's the curse. what was Hurting Raine was that she WASNT telling them anything about it, or more importantly asking for their help.

I think this is the first time we see Amity's full smile. She's never shown teeth until this episode. She's mostly had small ones, and lately more pronounced smiles. But this was her first full toothy smile.
I predict we'll be seeing a LOT more of her blushes and big smiles, perhaps even some tears (whether they're happy ones with Luz as they date or sad when she might have to leave ones remain to be seen.)
As a thirteen year old struggling with possibly being a lesbian in a morman community, this show is so great and has really helped me out, I love how much representation is in it, and it helped me come out to my my parents! Overall I just have so much love for this show

EXCUSE ME!!?? Hooty is literally the reason I started watching Owl House. A hooty compilation is all it took XD. That and maybe an Eda one too :P He's been my favorite since the start!
Have anyone realized how Luz and Amity acts when nervous? In "Enchanting Grom fright", you can spot Luz grabbing by her stomach, showing how nervous she is. And if you look closely, there's a scene where Amity grabs by her dress too. Then just look at the "asking out" part where Luz takes Amity's hand, they both are showing the same signs again!
I don’t think we’ve payed a certain line enough attention. When Eda asks Liz if she actually WANTS to ask Amity out. This is important because help where it isn’t welcome usually does more harm than good. Also, forcing something as sensitive as a romantic relationship into existence can have negative side effects. So once again, Eda proves that she is 100% a good mom by actually asking Luz if this is something she wants to pursue.

I had moments where i got angry with some of my friends in 2 ocasions because of that, the 2nd time was when i had just broken up with a relationship and they came saying how this other girl was in love with me and she was a mutual friend, so, they were looking forward to something happen but i didnt want any romantic relationshis at the time, i just wanted time for myself
I absolutely love Eda and the curse concept, because its a metaphor for people who have a mental illness. Its her accepting she has a problem and that's *okay,* because once they start to work with each other to make it better, the sky represents a future brighter then you ever could've imagined and it makes you feel not as hopeless anymore, that "hey, maybe I can make it better and finally get my happy ending, not just forever be stuck in this dark hole." I dont know about anyone else, but that's what that said to me.
After we see Raine breaking up with Eda for beign left out on the curse it brings a whole new meaning to the line from last episode "how did you become The Owl Lady with your stage-fright?"
I love everyone's reactions to cannon Lumity, confirmed Eda and Raine relationship, and Hooty eating the letter at the end. This is the third reaction video i've watched so far and they have all been very sweet and hilarious in Hooty's case. They all go from "Hooty you're the best!" to "Hooty Nooo! "real quick.😂🤣
Real talk though I totally understand Luz's reaction. Everyone back home, even her Mom and the principal, thought she was weird and too much. She didn't have any friends. Her self esteem must have been non-existent. And Amity was the popular girl at school when Luz met her, in Luz's mind Amity is cool and classy and totally above Luz's weirdness. So naturally Luz thinks she has to rein in her weirdness and be cool in front of Amity in order to impress her. It's why she gets so stressed when she thinks Hooty will embarrass her. It's not because she thinks Amity is judgemental, but because Luz thinks that being made fun of is the inevitable result of her being weird and too much. But what she doesn't understand, and what's really special, is that Amity likes her for her. She doesn't actually need to try to be anyone but herself because Amity likes her the way she is.

I just love the fact that Eda accept her curse and learns to live with it, like a person with a chronical desease would in our world Also the fact that everyone in the Owl House supported Luz’s decision to ask Amity out, not a single person asked her about her sexuality, they just supported her in the process makes the show even better
There’s actually a theory somewhere that “the owl beast” was once it’s own creature but the curse stripped it of physical form and it was trapped until Lilith cursed Eda, this is why I think it’s being presented as it’s own being, in fact the memory where Eda is caught in the net may not be a memory of hers, but of the Owl Beast.
@@nyahnyahson523 look closer at Eda’s portion of the episode, when it’s one of Eda’s memories and she starts to turn, it swaps her out giving her an outside look at the event in question and the appearance of the Owl Beast ISN’T Eda’s transformed state, but in the last memory it IS presented in Eda’s Transformed state. This is why I think the last memory is actually the Owl Beast’s memory instead of Eda’s.

Sometimes she gets called he, and none of us correct anyone because that pronoun is fine too. They/them is also fine.

I was overwhelmingly happy to see Lumity become canon and I can't wait to see how they progress in the show! But before we got that, Luz said something really important. The fact that Luz says: 23:04 "Oh, no. I'm gonna be made fun of again!" This says a lot. It almost certainly means that Luz had a crush on perhaps a girl at her human school, and she was laughed at for/by her crush. That really sucks. But good for her and Amity. ☺️

What a fucking powerhouse of an episode. We got serious developments for Raine’s history, Eda’s family life and father, Eda’s curse and new form, King’s abilities, LUMITY, Hooty growth, AND a teaser for King’s heritage at the end! I think the only main storyline that wasn’t touched on was Hunter’s. What a tremendous feat in writing and pacing to make this work, and they pulled it off perfectly! This is a true contender for best episode yet solely on how much it was able to move so many stories forward all at once. What a feast for the fans!

And this is why Hooty is the best character in TOH: -Is a literal house demon -Completely unpredictable and random -Most OP character and has definitely committed war crimes (get Belos in front of him) -Underappreciated by everyone -When things are too sluggish, he gets everyone therapy AND a girlfriend in the span of 20 minutes. I'm the exact age to have experienced both a heteronormal world, and one where LGBTQIA+ is normal. There's a massive contrast and it makes me happy that there's more and more representation in shows, and that they treat is as normal, like it is. As a trans lesbian, I'm super happy to see it.

I love how this is The Owl House's version of Steven Universe's "Reunited". Networks overseas cannot skip it without ruining the plot. Lumity is insured by basically every other plot thread in the series. Plus, it was just done so well! Covering four different character arcs could've crashed the episode, but instead they knocked it out of the park!

I've been marathoning your Owl House reaction videos for a past few hours, and I just lost my shit from you going from gushing over the adorableness of Lumity to the VISCERAL reaction to Hooty eating King's letter. Great stuff. XDDDD
Just realized something: considering the scene where Hooty tries to detach from the house, we see he doesnt get that far of reach (at least not far enough to get past the woods). WHAT IF Amity was already somewhere in the vicinity outside the house contemplating talking to Luz. Imagine: Amity is out behind a couple trees staring at the house like "how do I bring this up?what do I say?" Etc. She decides to bail and turn around, then just sees Hooty, his huge mouth, then DARK.

I feel like we've seen him stretch much farther than that in other scenes...even in this very episode. Maybe he just can't do it when he's agitated...or maybe he wasn't trying to stretch, but instead trying to detach himself from the house entirely?
Considering that Hooty can pellet and he is an owl, I can only assume that he only pellets, so he will pellet it out at some point. Will it be intact? Who knows. But it’s possible.

So I work at a mental health facility for teens, and I actually use the part of this episode where Eda learns to accept her curse in some of my classes.
It’s a truly wonderful metaphor for learning to accept the “ugly” side of yourself. In my classes I frame this in terms of mental health, though it could be interpreted as reflecting any number of chronic conditions. But whatever it is, these parts of us that cause us pain that we can’t wish away, denying them or trying to fight them off as foreign usually doesn’t work. We have to learn to accept them for what they are, and learn to incorporate them as parts of who WE are without letting them control or define us. It’s an incredibly nuanced and lovely metaphor for chronic conditions of all kinds.

There’s no fluff there, no dressing it up or dancing around it. The line itself, the way it was delivered by the VA, the atmosphere… It’s just so unbelievably *real*

Is everyone going to ignore the fact that Eda’s every dream since the curse must’ve been a nightmare? For 30 years? Which is probably why she drinks apple blood every morning?
Her dreams were her being too stubborn, angry, lonely, and rejected by her friends and family(or at least the perceived side of it for her since she pushed everyone away after her father was hurt). Think about it, she could have become the owl-harpy lady much, much sooner but she had to first let King, Luz into her life and heart before she could then let her sister, and her mother back into her life to heal enough to finally accept the Owl.

I think this is the first time we see Amity's full smile. She's never shown teeth until this episode. She's mostly had small ones, and lately more pronounced smiles. But this was her first full toothy smile.
I predict we'll be seeing a LOT more of her blushes and big smiles, perhaps even some tears (whether they're happy ones with Luz as they date or sad when she might have to leave ones remain to be seen.)

Have anyone realized how Luz and Amity acts when nervous?
In "Enchanting Grom fright", you can spot Luz grabbing by her stomach, showing how nervous she is. And if you look closely, there's a scene where Amity grabs by her dress too.
Then just look at the "asking out" part where Luz takes Amity's hand, they both are showing the same signs again!
I don’t think we’ve payed a certain line enough attention. When Eda asks Liz if she actually WANTS to ask Amity out. This is important because help where it isn’t welcome usually does more harm than good. Also, forcing something as sensitive as a romantic relationship into existence can have negative side effects. So once again, Eda proves that she is 100% a good mom by actually asking Luz if this is something she wants to pursue.
Also acknowledging that Hooty Freaking out doesn’t make the best back drop for asking someone out.

I absolutely love Eda and the curse concept, because its a metaphor for people who have a mental illness. Its her accepting she has a problem and that's *okay,* because once they start to work with each other to make it better, the sky represents a future brighter then you ever could've imagined and it makes you feel not as hopeless anymore, that "hey, maybe I can make it better and finally get my happy ending, not just forever be stuck in this dark hole." I dont know about anyone else, but that's what that said to me.
After we see Raine breaking up with Eda for beign left out on the curse it brings a whole new meaning to the line from last episode "how did you become The Owl Lady with your stage-fright?"

Real talk though I totally understand Luz's reaction. Everyone back home, even her Mom and the principal, thought she was weird and too much. She didn't have any friends. Her self esteem must have been non-existent. And Amity was the popular girl at school when Luz met her, in Luz's mind Amity is cool and classy and totally above Luz's weirdness. So naturally Luz thinks she has to rein in her weirdness and be cool in front of Amity in order to impress her. It's why she gets so stressed when she thinks Hooty will embarrass her. It's not because she thinks Amity is judgemental, but because Luz thinks that being made fun of is the inevitable result of her being weird and too much. But what she doesn't understand, and what's really special, is that Amity likes her for her. She doesn't actually need to try to be anyone but herself because Amity likes her the way she is.

I just love the fact that Eda accept her curse and learns to live with it, like a person with a chronical desease would in our world
Also the fact that everyone in the Owl House supported Luz’s decision to ask Amity out, not a single person asked her about her sexuality, they just supported her in the process makes the show even better
There’s actually a theory somewhere that “the owl beast” was once it’s own creature but the curse stripped it of physical form and it was trapped until Lilith cursed Eda, this is why I think it’s being presented as it’s own being, in fact the memory where Eda is caught in the net may not be a memory of hers, but of the Owl Beast.

This is why I think the last memory is actually the Owl Beast’s memory instead of Eda’s.

What a fucking powerhouse of an episode. We got serious developments for Raine’s history, Eda’s family life and father, Eda’s curse and new form, King’s abilities, LUMITY, Hooty growth, AND a teaser for King’s heritage at the end!
I think the only main storyline that wasn’t touched on was Hunter’s. What a tremendous feat in writing and pacing to make this work, and they pulled it off perfectly! This is a true contender for best episode yet solely on how much it was able to move so many stories forward all at once.
What a feast for the fans!

@@angienoexiste I mean the door was destroyed and is currently being repaired, something tells me the door might have some problems when it's activated. Like glitching in and out or being staticky, just something being wrong with it.

I love how this is The Owl House's version of Steven Universe's "Reunited". Networks overseas cannot skip it without ruining the plot. Lumity is insured by basically every other plot thread in the series. Plus, it was just done so well! Covering four different character arcs could've crashed the episode, but instead they knocked it out of the park!

Dana and the crew deserve a standing ovation for this episode. King getting a powerful voice power, Eda now having a badass looking new form, and of course, LUMITY NOW BEING CANON, this episode was awesome! This truly was a rollercoaster of emotions.

I've been marathoning your Owl House reaction videos for a past few hours, and I just lost my shit from you going from gushing over the adorableness of Lumity to the VISCERAL reaction to Hooty eating King's letter. Great stuff. XDDDD
Just realized something: considering the scene where Hooty tries to detach from the house, we see he doesnt get that far of reach (at least not far enough to get past the woods). WHAT IF Amity was already somewhere in the vicinity outside the house contemplating talking to Luz. Imagine:
Amity is out behind a couple trees staring at the house like "how do I bring this up?what do I say?" Etc. She decides to bail and turn around, then just sees Hooty, his huge mouth, then DARK.

I feel like we've seen him stretch much farther than that in other scenes...even in this very episode. Maybe he just can't do it when he's agitated...or maybe he wasn't trying to stretch, but instead trying to detach himself from the house entirely?
