All jokes aside she very well could’ve stayed at home because of being anxious to see Luz, but what if she got grounded for dyeing her hair, or seeing Luz or both? I’m actually quite worried she may “relapse” into being controlled by her parents, especially if they threatened Luz like they did Willow, or worse. It could make for a big angsty arc and I dunno if my heart can handle it. That, or I also saw another theory that the Blights don’t have/use palismen, and so Amity did not go that day. The Blights (parents) seem to be in very close ties with the emperor. Perhaps they share the same views that palismen are wild magic and are “dangerous” or outdated?

The real reason Amity couldn't be there is because to get a Palisman she would've need to state her biggest wish out loud in front of all her classmates, and we know very well she would've died of embarrassment if she did.
I did not think about that I thought it was because the kiss : Luz "that makes sense"
Also likely because she probably had the same issue as Luz - she's only starting to figure out what she wants for herself instead of just following her parents' demands, so having her bond with a palisman would be hard to achieve at this point in her development
I was thinking that her parents were against wildmagic and therefore wouldnt let her go to school to get one considering the twins also dont seem to have one.

Alador saying that she is helping Amity get strong is probably the only reason she hasn't made Luz's life hell and made it impossible for them to interact. Seems that although Odalia definitely prefers to be in control, power is what she most cares for, so having Amity not go to school to get stronger would be odd

I thought it might be a “Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court” reference.
One interesting thing I noticed is that Dana Terrace is specifically from Hamden CT, which is nicknamed: Home of the Sleeping Giant, for the Sleeping Giant Mountain Range. The Titan which makes up the Boiling Isles is a also a Giant. Could the Titan really be dead or just Asleep. I think this is more than just a coincidence.
As someone who lives in Connecticut, I was pleasantly surprised by that nonchalant info drop. But Dana being from Connecticut explains it.

Angst Hunter Headcannon(because I hate myself and love to cry sometimes): That scar on Hunter's jawline was made from Bellos, sort of like a Zuko moment when he spoke out of term and Ozai burned him to teach "respect". That's why Hunter flinches and closes his eyes because Bellos played with his trauma.
Definitely seems the direction they're heading, especially with his abused looking smile he makes at the end of the talk at the end with Bellos
The fact Hunter seems resigned and not at all shocked, and the fact that Belos immediately went for Hunter's face, makes me think this happens pretty often
If that's true, it gives me more justification in hating Belos
The sad thing is that he doesn't seem to resent Bellos for possibly that or the fact that he's so manipulative and treats him so badly. Hunter genuinely wants to help and is constantly seeking for Bello's approval

I'm think Golden guard is officially the most interesting character in the show after this episode, he actually has an internal conflict with great risk coming from both paths he wants to choose. He's a good guy who wants to help but he's misguided but wants to repay the one who took him in. Edit: Also just realised that the cardinal palisman and Hunter both have scars.

Either him or Belos. Belos wasn't really that interesting to me until this episode, but it's completely renewed my need to know more. I need to see what he looks like in his monster form, what wild magic did to him, what exactly wild magic is, who his family line was, etc. I was a little uninterested in him before but there's no way I can't be now.
@@tobenamed610 Definitely Belos. I don't dislike Hunter, but his arc is probably the most predictable and done to death so far. The only thing that would catch me off guard is if he truly did fall to evil in the end with no redemption, and there's no way that's happening. I'm genuinely more interested in what Kikimora does next. She feels like more of a wild card than him. Also, I just love petty and irredeemable lieutenant characters.
Belos is an actual mystery, and we're constantly piecing together his motivations, but at the same time, we can never be too sure about what he says because there's an underlying sense of cruelty and manipulation to everything he does.

I can see Luz’s palisman being an otter, and not just because of the memes.
From what I’ve read online, Otters symbolize playfulness/mischievousness, loyalty, affection, creativity/craftsmanship, and transformation. A lot of that sounds pretty accurate to Luz’s character.

So you remember how the bird palismen wanted to escape at the beginning of the episode? So I think the bird palismen went to Hunter because Hunter wants to escape something or *someone* . Glad to know I’m not only one surprised that Luz is from Connecticut (not too far from me actually). Now after recently realizing that Dana is from Connecticut, it makes sense. Although, many of us expected a completely different state. I just assumed the typical California setting considering a majority of Disney’s modern cartoon protagonists live in California: Dipper, Mabel, Marco, (technically) Star, Anne, Sasha, and Marcy just to name a few. But I’m glad to see it changing up.

Someone from Reddit pointed out that Luz's palisman could be a snake because if you look at the logo (at the end of the intro), the "H" forms a staff with an owl at the top. A similar staff symbol can be seen at the "s", which looked like a snake.
Also, the first episode of season 1 literally opened with a giant snake. So yeah, that's my theory.

My theory:
Some time near the end, Luz is gonna be throw back to the human world, without a way to come back and help with wherever is gonna be going on in the BI,
some sad feelings, she thinking about never seen her friends again, amity... etc.... then she remember the palisman wood!
Here's my theory (hope?) - Lilith adopts Hunter. He belongs in the Clawthorne family. Even already has a bird palisman.
I’m sure that when they both get to meet each other, I think they’d have something close to a mother-son relationship. Only when they don’t see each other as enemies, but to think of their relationship when Hunter’s not the golden guard and Lilith not seeing him as a brat, maybe there is a chance she would take him in.
I think Hunter/The Golden Guard might have a redemption arc. I don’t think that he’s a bad character. Emperor Belos has taken him in maybe the only reason he’s on Belos’ side is because he can’t do magic without his staff. Emperor Belos might’ve manipulated him and/or blackmailed him saying “If you leave me, I’ll take away your staff and you’ll be powerless again.” But he might leave Emperor Belos if Belos demands him to bring Luz and/or to kill Luz.
My guess is his real name is Hunter Wittebane. Love the interactions between Hunter and Luz and maybe they geek out over wild magic and glyphs later on. Now that he has the cardinal, chances are he leaves like Lilith did.
And even though Amity wasn't in this one, at least we get her and Eda's new looks. I'm thinking she'll carve a palisman like Luz. Bat like her phone case, otter like in Enchanting Grom Fight, griffin as a throwback from episode 1?
Lastly, I honestly lost track of how many times I've watched the end of the last episode😄

Theory: Emperor Belos is actually Philip. He experimented with wild magic, he met a witch and had a kid who’s Hunter. At first everything was good, they were a happy family but one day there was an explosion from wild magic and it killed Hunter’s Mother and wild magic cursed Belos. To make the curse controllable Belos had to use Palisman. That’s when Emperor Belos started to hate wild magic. Soon after he became the Emperor but he was so busy that he couldn’t take care of his son, Hunter and left him anonymously in an orphanage. Hunter grew up believing that his ancestors were powerless witches because he couldn’t do magic. One day Belos found Hunter and realized that Hunter is his son and took him in as his nephew. He didn’t tell Hunter that he’s his Father so Hunter doesn’t know that he’s Belos’ son but Belos knows that Hunter is his son. Hunter is the only one who knows about Belos’ curse the others only know that they should bring Belos Palisman without knowing the reason.
Writers: "Alright how do we make Hunter more childish and innocent looking so people don't simp for the child with a voice of a model?"

The way I see things is that Belos did something with wild magic that cursed him and killed his family and then he found Hunter (his last living relative) and took him in and that’s why he hates wild magic so much it’s literally a case of PTSD (and Belos’s own voice actor said he’s not evil just misunderstood)
Belos is a real mystery to me. I'm still not sure about him. I am thinking Hunter is probably a descendant of Philip, though. What if he created the portal but then decided not to go home, thus creating a long line of human/witch hybrid people who have no bile sacs?

Some things I noticed about the Palismans:
- there's a reference to the horrible goose from Untitled Goose Game; a white goose with a bell in their mouth
- Rascal (the cardinal one) doesn't open their scarred eye until they get to Hunter.
- One of them is a piggy bank.
- Viney's is a manticore; a chimera or hybrid mythical creature, part lion, part scorpion, often described as having a human face, sometimes depicted with bat wings.
Also, finding out Luz is from Connecticut, my home state, made me think of like the dumbest, sweetest, mundane shit she can take her new friends to do. Go to a Sound Tigers game and go absolutely ape-shit (trust me, watching hockey live does that to you; I'm not a sports fan, let alone a hockey fan, I've been to a few games and the inherent violence gets to you), go to a Stop and Shop and take selfies with the monolith robot wandering around the store, go to the Maritime Aquarium (which has otters) and see an Imax movie, go to a Duchess for lunch, go to the Beardsley Zoo and ride the carousal, etc.

I just love the energy you give off. It's so infectious that I couldn't resist subscribing. And I woke up at 7 am so I wouldn't miss this episode. It comes on at 9 am first for me. And I've also noticed that in Amphibia and The Owl House, they both have references to each other and Gravity Falls. Thoughts on a possible crossover?

I think Phillip Wittlebane might either be Hunter's or Bellos' ancestor or they both could be his descendants if they are indeed related. And I don't think he just wants to merge the realm together. I probably wants to rule over both or maybe he wants to weaken wild magic by bringing it to the human realm.
I would not be surprised if Luz's palisman ends up becoming some kind of bird like Eda, Lilith, and Gwendolyn.
Also, I've lost track of how many times I have watched that Lumity kiss. XD

Salem might have the most/more famous witch trials in history, but Connecticut was where the first witch trials started. So it makes perfect sense why Dana would make Connecticut Luz's home state.

If Belos is actually Philip Wittebane, that means (according to Luz in "Through the Looking Glass Ruins") that he's hundreds of years old , humans don't live that long obviously, maybe he used wild magic to try and live longer? And possibly still trying to find a way home or as we've seen in the latest episode, unite the 2 realms? idk, this is just my own theory hahaha
