I was never that fond of the Corsair Virtuoso lineup before, but this one is hands-down Corsair's best looking headset. Love the mesh grills on the sides. Seems like the change they made to their mic kinda downgraded the sound a little, but I honestly like that there's no random hole on the headphones themselves for a mic since it's just attached to the cable. Definitely looks like a solid pair of headphones.
It's crazy how you cover pretty much every gaming peripheral release. Gotta say, watching you review headsets always make me start browsing local stores for deals. You're gonna end up making me pull the trigger one of these days
this is the first gaming headset ive seen in a very long time that has interested me, i cant use closed back headphones for gaming as i hate the congested sound you get when talking with them on, not knowing how loud your're speaking. these open back cans are STUNNING and the metal build seems fantastic. my current headphones are getting to be on their way out so this is perfect timing edit: just finished the video, good god $200 spoinkies is wayyyyyy out my price range. im rocking philips shp9500 and theyre barely $50 - $60 bucks anymore. definitely sticking with what i got
Love the metal build quality, as a BIG head user I've broken my fair share of headsets (usually a headset a year before they break apart). Its quite a problem in the headset market.
As someone who sells tech, an open back pair of gaming headphones is a niche in the market that no one aside from Audio Technica (poorly) have really entered let alone cornered. This is a good move by corsair and I'm happy to see that gaming companies are starting to take note from enthusiasts when adding new features to their gear.
Hey love your content man been a fan of your no-script one-take approach of reviewing products. Also love the fact that you always put consumers' interest first and really speak the truth about these products and for that thanks a lot!
I agree that the chrome effect on the edges make things look cheap, not to mention its texture traps dirt too. Would be way nicer if they kept that grey metal all the way around.
The best thing about these I think is the support for bigger heads. I’ve recently had my MH751s break, and I’ve been having real troubles finding headset that are comfy for larger heads like mine. Quality products from Corsair as expected and nice review!
As someone who has big ears and has had trouble finding headphones that dont pinch my ears these look like they might finally be the one. Also good to see a big brand like corsair bringing open backs to a really big audience this is gonna be a game changer if other companies decide to follow suit.
I only use open back for several reasons. I don’t like the feeling or sound of my voice being muffled when I’m talking and my ears are plugged. I really like staying aware of my surroundings (kids, wife etc). I prefer the sound (not so in your face) and comfort (usually cloth and breathable materials) of open back headphones. :-)
Open backs from corsair is a big deal, seems great build quality and probably the sound is good enough. Not really sure if the price tag matches with this headphone compared to some other good deals from drop, or any of the well-known audio brands at ~$200. Also that microphone implementation is actually very clever.
Yes, if they make a wireless version… that would be end game. I couch game with my PC and I don’t want to run a cable extension across the room. With the way Corsair does things, I can see a wireless version coming out. MAKE IT HAPPEN CORSAIR!
Hey, there. Great video! I have a question abou the mic. I currently use Astros which have "sidetone" built in. Playbacks your voice in real time so you can hear yourself speak. Do these Virtuosos have this feature?
I tried the Virtuoso pros a while back but my biggest issue with them was how heavy they felt. After multiple different headsets, I finally decided on the Epos H6Pro’s and could not be happier. Put wicked cushions on them, they’re comfortable as all hell and I paired em with my Shure SM7B cause I couldn’t find a headset I was happy with for the mic.
I have talked to a lot of customers and you are the first person I've heard who is happy with their H6Pro's. I've heard no end of issues with the USB connection and build issues like the adhesive on the pads coming off within weeks of owning them. I usually don't recommend them anymore which is a shame, because from what I gather, they actually sound good.
@@johnhurley8918 I mean I've only had them about two weeks, but so far so good. I replaced the earpads with wicked cushions and I absolutely love the comfort and I think the sound is great. But I am by absolutely no means, an audiophile.
@@johnhurley8918 My h6pro's microphone shut down and the volume adjustment(actually impedance adjustment) also have some problem. When I rotate the impedance to the least, there is no audio on the right side, I have to increase the impedance a little to make both side balance. But the sound quality and comfort is very good
It is always nice to see metal construction in a gaming headset, when you pay 100 plus for headset with plastic stress points, found that out on my PS3 Sony gaming headset the stress of taking it on and of broke it.
Mic sounds fantastic but yes the swiveling can be annoying. I’ve said the same thing a million times - why can’t they just add some indicator on the beam as to where the mic should point? Wouldn’t stop me from getting these headphones. I love the details you get into and explaining pros and cons - no matter how significant those can be. The details you provide go a long way in helping me determine if I will find some issues too annoying to deal with.
one thing the video didn't go over is clamping force, however the video shows the clamping force is pretty low and im all about it. that long gaming session is gonna be comfortable.
A few years ago you made me bought a pair of Corsair Virtuoso SE, that I'm still enjoying in my headset collection 😉. Pleasure to hear your thoughts and comparatives with other models, since you always share with us a real usage perspective. Keep it up mate, thanks for everything!
As somebody who has used Astro A40s for the last 5 years, they finally started to have minor issues with headphone jack distortion so I went shopping for a new pair. I knew they were semi open back, but I didn’t realize how much a difference it made to my ears. I tried the Logitech G pro X2 light speed - too rumbly, not very good sound localization I tried the arctic nova pro wired - too rumbly and hollow. Long story short, I love open back. I want to try these.
Honestly these look really clean. I am currently using some cheap IEM’s for gaming but I’m tempted to upgrade. Maybe I should wait for a wireless versions tho.
thank you for going over the wicked cushion part just saved me from buying the wrong ones. So far I don't think anyone has come out with replacement pads for these yet.
Every once in a while, for the sake of convenience I consider using a gaming headset over mic and phones. The Virtuoso Pro's seem to come closer than most. With you on the chrome strip. It was always one of those things that when it peeled off it looked better after you cleaned off the gummy residue.
Hey! I really appreciate your casual fun way of reviewing these products without exaggerating. I knew what to expect when I watched your Virtuoso XT review, and I’m very glad I came across your channel when I was looking for a good headset. The Wicked Cushions recommendation was a game changer for me with the XT’s, otherwise I was planning on returning the headset because of the thin pads. I’ve been using that headset and following you ever since, and I thank you again for being a cool guy.
When it comes to anything from headphones, computers, cellphones, or any other high-tech stuff, I am clueless. Thank you for your insight on headphones. I have been using my brother's old Audio- techs for 13 years, and they're much older now. I have watched your videos to see what headphones I want to buy, if I ever get the money. But those audio techs have been good so far, other than a broken headrest pad. Anyways, thanks again for your input. Take Care & God Bless.
i love how i see your notification and after a few minutes, i got notifications on others apps about this headsets, now i see why, they look great, i have never used open backs headset before, this looks great for a first experience.
These look great, appreciate the honest break down in your review. Corsaie hopefully you take some of the recommendations on especially comfort upgrade!
Thanks for posting great reviews! Am road tripping through TH-cam videos this Sunday evening researching new office desk tech. Learned a lot about headsets here!
I dont understand why Corsair still uses these proprietary earpads. Just simple pullnon like on hyperx etc would work lot better. Also what is the price? Since its only wired, theres probably better optios for same price from beyerdynamic or Sennheiser.
I'm very used to watching audiophile reviews that focus on the squigly lines and things but I really value watching your reviews for headphones. I still notice that your preference of sound alligns with mine somewhat. I think gaming headphones are going in such an exciting direction, recently ordered a maxwell and now seeing this, finally they are focusing on design that isn't just rgb.
Thanks for the review, I am surprised that Corsair is going down that road of openback headphones for my point of view they are better for competitive gaming.
I had my hs80 max for about 2 weeks. They sounded amazing but they wouldn’t unmute when I flipped the mic down. Sometimes it would work and sometimes it just wouldn’t. It got so frustrating for me when playing with friends I had to return them. The only temporary fix was to flip the mic up, unplug the dongle and power the headset off then plug them in and turn it on
I ordered the white ones, will be here on the 21st. Can’t wait! Had the virtuoso xt’s loved the mic but I only play on console so the sound quality was not very good due to not being able to eq. I pray to the headset gods that with these graphene drivers that the sound will be noticeably improved. If not I’ll have to return them.
A fan of your honest opinion on everything u review, thanks to ur review I pulled the trigger on Maxwell headset and have been enjoying ever since!! Especially with the wicket cushions!

Who won the headset giveaway? How do you like them? I’m not familiar with a balanced cable, but do they make balanced cables with an integrated mic? Wondering if there is an upgraded cable with an upgraded mic out there. I’ve searched the internet but haven’t found anything. Not sure if that exists.
I'm beginning to collect white peripherals as they remind me of stormtrooper and look hella sophisticated at the same time. It'd be great if I could get myself a white headphones.
Great review! I've been considering the Corsair Virtuoso Wireless headphones, The audio quality seems impressive, and the comfort looks top-notch. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and demonstrating the product!
I would love to get these as my first open back headphones, but I own the white Virtuoso RGB and after a year, the plastics right behind the ear cups started to yellow, which is weird because the plastic covers where the RGB logo is is still white. Corsair should have used that same plastic all throughout, and I hope that will not be the case for the white Virtuoso pros because they look so good!
I feel like you really elaborated the difference between headphones and headsets with little said just describing these headphones. Been thinking about dabling in headphones for gaming
The price is a bit expensive compared to the more recognized brands on the market (Sennheisers, Audiotechnica, etc), but Corsair has great build quality and amazing customer support!
The Virtuoso Pro looks super sleek and I love the open back design. I wonder how the audio quality compares to others in the same price point like the SteelSeries Arctis Pro.

Corsair is one of the last places I'd look for an open back so this is a good thing to see in the gamer space, incites good competition.
I have used the Corsair Virtuoso before and they really really were nice. I might have forgot them now since I use other but ya W for Corsair.

Same here, and I wear glasses too. So many headsets just do not take this into account.

i really want this to have a customizable concept like how the arctis nova pros did,
cuz if so, boy...this looks so appealing to me rn

what i don't get is the open back headset. Why do you want the audio to bleed you know?
I only use open back for several reasons. I don’t like the feeling or sound of my voice being muffled when I’m talking and my ears are plugged.
I really like staying aware of my surroundings (kids, wife etc).

corsair making an open back is hype.

Yes, if they make a wireless version… that would be end game.

If they do make a wireless version they need to use better hardware than the Virtuso RGB , that headset is pretty bad.@@jonathansacci2325
The white version is gorgeous. The open back is a game changer
I mean, the metal ring, but wish they did it in a gun metal or brushed black nickel so it matches the band
Been as Corsair fan for years. This headset has quite a bit of features Sennheiser values, but at a much cheaper price. Love the open back!

Hey, there. Great video! I have a question abou the mic. I currently use Astros which have "sidetone" built in. Playbacks your voice in real time so you can hear yourself speak. Do these Virtuosos have this feature?
I was taken a little aback by it being wired. Price is fine, I have Audezes, Mezes, and Sennheisers. I wouldn't mind checking these out.
I owned the SE virtuoso and now I have the XT. NOW I got to get these too!
Best headphone to replace my older one. It's weight is comparable to its feature though plastic still around it but it is great, wish me luck.

How high would these rank on your top Xbox headset? And what's number 1? Regardless of price but only plugged into the the controller?
