It is actually one of the best microphones you can get when it comes to wireless headsets. There are other reviews which compare to other wireless headsets and the HS80 Max is the best by far.

This is a huge letdown for any console users. Most headset you can save the eq. Im sure that could easily add this into the software but no one mentions it on reviews.
Great Video. I love watching your TH-cam headset videos. I own the cheap Corsiar Void Elite wireless and I love these. I worked as an audio engineer in the 80's and 90's audio indsutry and used headphones like the AGK 240 to listen to magnetic tape quality. Granted it's not the supreme golden drop of sound but it's what the listening audience listens to at best. I've even tested using cheaper, scrappy Walkman type headphones. Reason being, if tape sounds good on cheapie sound systems, it's gonna sound great on bigger boom boxes. And it many cases, on good home sound sysems it'll be capturing magic. So yeah, I can relate to the headset videos you've made.
The one thing that I have to complain about my pair of hs80s is that less than six months of usage, my ear pads glue gave up and the pads started to disassemble itself and show its internal foam. What I did was I glued it back and it has hold up for about five months now.
You shouldn't underrate the huge increased amount of battery life. 65 hours (without rgb, with rgb only 24h) on the hs80 max, and 20h on the hs80 (unknown if with rgb turned on or off, I guess it's off though 😂)
Having purchased the HS80 Wireless not too long ago, I found this video quite offensive. Not because of HC or the video, but because I purchased a thing and not long after there is a new "upgraded" thing. Seeing the video now, I think my purchase is still fine, since the Max seems to be a downgrade of sorts. Still have questions: 1) The original, as mentioned, automatically connects as USB when plugged in. But, that is also annoying. Does the new one also automatically switch on when plugging it in while it is supposed to be powered off? 2) I found my HS80W also has a tactile power button, so there is that. But, do you still have to hold it for 3 full seconds to power it on or off?
I was so getting so hopeful because I've been looking for a wireless headset with a decent mic. I finally stumbled upon the HS80 and was like, this is awesome! Once I saw they had the HS80 Max. It sucks that they had to take a dump on the mic : ( I think I'd have to go with the original for two reasons - the mic is better and also being able to use it in wired mode is also a plus. Thanks for the comparison!

Would be cool if you could check one of these out.
I have darmoshark m3, it's good for the price but sometimes sensor gets laggy, I don't know why, and in most cases polling rate is below 1000, at maximum use of mice 99% of time it sits between 950-980 hz. So this mice is good, but not that good. Also software is actually bad
The noise cancellation is probably in as someone that owns the HS60, the mic even picks up sound from the headphones themselves as the sound leak is kinda high.

I'm using the hs80 and I love it. But it has 2 big problems. Really small range for connection (can't leave the room with my wireless headset) and the worst cable in cable history. I was hoping they would fix that and leave the rest

@@stevenbauer2003 Yeah, would have loved using the headset on my Xbox but I can only use it on PC which is fine. The battery life would have been nice but regardless it’s a huge upgrade from the mic I have right now
Awesome video as always. A question, will you guys be making a video looking over the newly released Corsair 3000D PC Case. I feel like Corsair didn't promote it and its been very quiet. I think its a case thats worth looking over and also comparing it to other models like the 4000D
Just switched to the max after regular hs80 for a while. Question: is my headset messed up or is the mic monitoring/feedback really low quality? Like my voice sounds very bassy and weird unlike the regular ha80. Is there a fix for this?? Thanks!
I simply use my Samson SR860 wired headphone and ear-worn headset microphone that attached to the side of my headphone. Plus, I do the noise-cancellation and compression manually using rackmount hardware equipment. No software needed for microphone adjustment. But if I do want a gaming headset, I would still prefer a headset microphone that has a 3.5mm jack, so I can plug them into an XLR adapter or 1/4" connector so that I can do some processing in the hardware side. And no, stationary microphones are not for me since I want to be able to move my head around, especially since I have a 42" OLED TV up close to me. Even then, games such as Cyberpunk 2077 has small text that can make it difficult for me to read, especially the overhead text that shows up above the person's head. Cyberpunk 2077 has poor accessibility support.
Great review as always! Still looking for a wireless headset with good position audio for playing cs:go. Should replace my wired sennheiser pc 363d which is really good and more on the open side. Could the corsair be a good candidate or is it too closed ?
The HS80 is all around is great headset except for one major problem. You cannot extend or adjust the size of the headset at all. The elastic band barely does anything to help with comfort. If you have a large head, this is probably one of the worst headsets you can get.
For me the elastic band does a lot (depending on the adjustment it either hurts my head, sits just right or is too loose). But maybe if you have a very big head then maybe it is too small (i would see myself as average)
Hey, thank you for the review. What would you pick between this and the Razer blackshark v2 pro 2023? It sounds like the microphone on the razer is slightly better but I'm torn when it comes to sound quality and comfort. Also I have a razer mouse and not having to install a 2nd software would be an advantage, but I would do it if the difference is noticeable between the two.
Hiya, your reviews are why I purchased the HS80 wireless, but the microphone quality I'm experiencing is so poor compared to your examples. To anyone reading this, has anyone found a similar problem with your HS80?
Could you guys review the new audeze maxwell? That thing is the best wireless headset under 500 bucks. It IS pricey but you're getting audiophile approved gaming headset. Which says a lot. Gosh I can't even look at the graph of hs80. Bloated, muffled and sharp.
Bought this on Black Friday and now im sending it back. Im playing Escape from Tarkov and the HS80 always mutes the first few shoots. And even if you try to change the options still didnt work. So back to Logitech...
Does the headset save your volume settings on console after powering off and on or does it just default back to the highest volume you set on the console?
im dissapointed it doesnt have simultanious bluetooth and 2.4 ghz because i dont think the Virtuoso xt would be comfy for me but i do really like that i can use my phone and listen to my game at the same time XD
I saw this on the store I went in today, I was almost scammed to get Razer and the Logitech's and I'm like f this I don't deserve this (bad reviews online and watching) so I spent more to get corsair instead. Steelseries wasn't for me. This review helped me, and reading the comments that wired was already working, etc... Anyway because of the bluetooth compatibility I went for the HS80 Max. I need to be able to switch to my 2 devices but the experience so far are great. I just screwed up the icue setup on my windows device and have to do over because everything got garbled, I also have the acer whatever software that made it like that.
So they still sound flat, you can't listen to two audio sources at once.. ... why? :( I bought the Corsair HS80 because of the microphone based on your video and love the MIC but hate the sound! Grabbed a pair of ARCTIS NOVA 7X WIRELESS XBOX and never looked back. They have nice bass!! I haven't used with the microphone much because I user another one but it sounds ok.
I'm having the same issue with the sidetone function on my HS55 wireless headset. (literally have the put the mic in my mouth to hear mysef) They sound great and everybody tells me the mic sounds way better but not being able to hear myself is driving me nuts. I wonder if there is a FW update in the future or something.
talked to corsair support just now, & support dude said the 80 max can be used wired(unless he misunderstood the way i worded my question). So not sure bout that part tbh.
How are wireless headsets not getting better in terms of microphone quality. My first and only concern when purchasing a headset was making sure the Microphone was clear, which is why I bought a HS80. I hear a new HS80 microphone is coming out and the microphone is 1. worse. and 2. cant be used wired, what is going on?
For those who play music like on VRCHAT for example. does the Corsair HS80 MAX would be an issue in order of people to listen to your music since it has a noise cancelling built on it and you can't disable it or nah? please answer me I need to know, otherwise I'll just get the wireless one instead of the MAX bluetooth one. thank you and does the wireless one comes with the cable so sometimes you can choose to plug it using a cable and sometimes you take off the cable or nah?
What we need are premium noise cancelling gaming headphones: one's that silence the screaming child and barking dog succumbing to the fire raging in the next room. Until I have those capabilities, the pennies will jingle in my pockets.
What do you recommend for headphones that have a dial for discord/game sound independent balancing? This is a must-have feature for me, and ChatGPT says the HS80 has it, but it doesn't appear to... Is this something handled by the click/scroll/macro thing?
The color palettes of your videos is so pleasing

I think it's just a question of preference which one you choose.
What watch band is that on your wrist? It's slick!
The hs65 surround is super underrated for the price too mic is amazinf!
Very helpful video, think I’m going to pick one of these up for 25% off at my local store. Just can’t decide between white or black
between this and the new BlackShark v2 pro (2023), which one do you recommend?
My question too someone need to answer it
love your reviews!
How do you like the Fiio FH3s now? I bought those on your recommendation. Did you stop using IEMs in general for gaming?
Ok so, mic IS improved although, I’ve gotten MANY complaints about it being too quiet in many games/discord etc
Mike when can we expect review of the ak620 digital?
Can't wait for the next headphone thumbnail
Great review and subbed!
Great review as always! Still looking for a wireless headset with good position audio for playing cs:go. Should replace my wired sennheiser pc 363d which is really good and more on the open side. Could the corsair be a good candidate or is it too closed ?
damn that mic change is a deal breaker, also no USB wired mode is pretty bad too
can't understand why they don't want to put simultaneously bluetooth + wifi. my next headphones will necessarily have simultaneous bluetooth
ok, this is gonna be my next headset, hopefully it's released in my country at some point before everything explodes
From what i saw so far, i like the design and it looks RLY comfy! The only thing that is big no no for me is that u r not able to detach the mic :/
Razer blackshark v2 pro 2023 review when??
To anyone reading this, has anyone found a similar problem with your HS80?
had mine for a year now n im about to take them back cuz the mic has been acting up discord not detecting it on n off
Could you guys review the new audeze maxwell? That thing is the best wireless headset under 500 bucks.
It IS pricey but you're getting audiophile approved gaming headset.
Which says a lot.
Gosh I can't even look at the graph of hs80.
Bloated, muffled and sharp.
Bought this on Black Friday and now im sending it back. Im playing Escape from Tarkov and the HS80 always mutes the first few shoots. And even if you try to change the options still didnt work. So back to Logitech...
What u picked up?
Does the headset save your volume settings on console after powering off and on or does it just default back to the highest volume you set on the console?
It saves it on PC, not sure about console.
-D.
Is the isolation for the microphone (when someone talking behind you IRL) is good ? Do your friend on Discord hear the person talking behind you ?
im dissapointed it doesnt have simultanious bluetooth and 2.4 ghz because i dont think the Virtuoso xt would be comfy for me but i do really like that i can use my phone and listen to my game at the same time XD
That headset seems great ! Does work fine with Linux (Steam Deck in mind) ?
You want good headphones for positional footstep tracking then go for open-back headphones....
Do wireless models exist?
Why are they going with omnidirectional over unidirectional? My head tells me that you only want sound from your mouth, and not from the surroundings?
Next week im actually buying a new headset but idk which one should i choose the hyperx cloud ii or the corsair hs80 max pls someone help me😅
When is the black shark v2 pro vid!!!
The microphone ruins it for me sadly, I'll stick with the Sennheiser Game One / PC38X thanks for the video!
Would you choose this or the Razer Blackshark v2 Pro 2023 edition?
talked to corsair support just now, & support dude said the 80 max can be used wired(unless he misunderstood the way i worded my question).
For those who play music like on VRCHAT for example. does the Corsair HS80 MAX would be an issue in order of people to listen to your music since it has a noise cancelling built on it and you can't disable it or nah? please answer me I need to know, otherwise I'll just get the wireless one instead of the MAX bluetooth one. thank you
and does the wireless one comes with the cable so sometimes you can choose to plug it using a cable and sometimes you take off the cable or nah?
I bought the Corsair HS80 Wired after your review of the new Corsair headphones last year. I have been really happy with it.
Are both models USB-C?
can you do tair about every headset you have reviewed
Am I the only one who think the Max mic sounds a LOT better? After the update obviously
Can you hear yourself talking (Monitoring)? And if so, is it hardwired from mic to speaker or softwarebased with an annoying delay?
