- balayage & highlights with a toothbrush & a comb.
*key points:
•you can use color, hi-lift color, or lightener for this application
•if using lightener make sure the consistency of the lightener is thicker (should not drip off the brush) to avoid bleeding on the other parts of the hair
•start the application towards the neck, working your way up to the top of the head
•larger diagonal partings are made to create a natural flow of color that follows the head shape
•tease hair at the top for balayage for a staggered look
•dry brush at the top (upwards movement with brush) to blend any harsh lines
•no processing time for bleach- you watch it until it's the level you like
•you can use a toothbrush, mascara wand, paddle brush, or rattail comb for balayage

thanks @allkindsamusicchick for recommending this video!
I hit thumbs up before I even watched it, because I know it’s going to be 🔥
I graduated high school in 2015. I went to a trade school and chose cosmetology. I didnt learn jack shit in school and it made me soooo mad every day. Luckily i went on co op which allowed me to work at a hair salon, however it was more of an old ppl salon so i was basically doing perms and sets. I always loved color. I felt like i wasnt good at doing hair for a while. SO ended up changing my career. WHich i loved also. But 9 years later, ive kept up with my cosmo license and stumbled upon your videos.....
You are amazing!!!
You teach me soooo much.
I cant even put into words how much i appreciate you and your videos.
Youre beautiful. Funny. And very easy to listen to and learn.
thank you !!!!!
I also worked at an old lady salon starting out lol!! i can roll a perm like no other lolol! glad you kept up your license in case you change your mind!!!
Thanks you. You've taught me a lot.❤Very clearly explained. I think you are a great teacher. Much appreciated.
💯
What a clear and concise video on this technique!!! Your videos are always so easy to follow and supported with additional links if needed. You make an excellent teacher andtale the fear out of working with bleach ,thank you!
Thank you for explaining why you start at the bottom, I never thought about it that way. Makes perfect sense now.
This technique looks very easy except for doing the back. I’m going to try this and if it doesn’t turn out well my hair will eventually grow out
Wow awesome great idea with the toothbrush I'm not a stylist so of course I got confused about the parting sections now I understand not to part it straight across versus diagonal. What about if your doing highlights especially the front do you have a video demonstrating tht step by step? Love love your videos..
I needed this,I’m going to give it a try on myself . I love your videos ❤😊
I love this technique! Great video!!
Yessss! Mama needed this! Thanks!!!
Hi. I love watching all your videos. If at all possible could you do another video on how to cut an inch or two from the length of hair and add some layers thanks
Much Needed info!! I will do this next time!!! Thank you!!
No Wayyyyyyyyyyy!!! Thank YOU!!!
Your a natural teacher I’m 65 and want to put fushia in my hair and I have to bleach thanks
Video suggestions: I'm getting older and find myself needing to touch up my hair every 5-6 weeks due to my gray roots. I also have highlights that require regular maintenance. The expenses are starting to add up, so I'm considering DIY options. What do you recommend?"
What are the chances, I came back to watch cosmo dads video on brush highlights for like the 5th time and now you have one on the method too. I take this as a sign I should go mess with my hair now
Thank you ❤
super
Love your hair videos ❤
Do you have any tips for using K18 products to help with hair health after bleaching or dyeing?
Hi Britnee. Hair question: just returned from the beach and my dishwater blonde hair (colored to a medium blonde) is now almost platinum from the sun. Is there a way to fix this besides coloring it? I’m afraid of causing even more damage. Thanks!
Can you color my hair..
Almost as if your picking out highlights vs ? 😅
☮️
Thanks but needed to see the results longer. You really rushed the ending.
I think she did a fine job! She is my go-to....whenever I want to do anything....to my hair!! Thank goodness for Brittnee!!
wow.. I will try it now!!! hope I can succeed:)
@britneyalexushair I love each and every one of your videos on both of your pages. But it’s so funny that I end needing each one of your hair videos the day they come out. Like I really needed a good filler video the day your video came out on TH-cam, so I was excited that I had got filler video with you. But thanks for all of your hair knowledge and all of the funny and cool things you do on the videos.
Thank you ❤
