Sometimes I feel that Mashed goes out of its way to find things to criticize. They panned many of Culver's menu items for being too bland, then turned around and criticized the mushroom and swiss Butterburger for seasoning the mushrooms! I also wonder when they did their taste test; Culver's fries used to be bland, but they've improved over the last couple of years. Lastly, you can get the pot roast sandwich with condiments, like BBQ sauce, steak sauce, ketchup, mustard (yellow, Dijon, spicy brown), or mayo; if they don't offer any, ask!
I agree. As I am listening to this and only about halfway through I have had many different experiences. George's Chili is thick when I've ordered it. I do prefer the flavor of Wendy's though. To say chicken tenders are too crispy is a silly comment. Tenders or nuggets should be crispy and they are. I like how the tenders at Culver's aren't all or most breading like other places. We like the plain chicken tenders with honey mustard. Every time I order the fries they are hot, crispy, and delicious. Again, the irony in the comment that the sourdough is too sour- as someone who is a trained baker and also enjoys sourdough for it's flavor the starter is what makes sourdough unique, but is an acquired taste. Yes, I love the mushroom swiss burger. I often order it as a kids meal! I think it's sad they've made comparison to KFC & McDonald's. Culver's most definitely is a superior fast casual concept! Far superior frozen custard too!
I usually stick to burgers and frozen custard at Culvers and I've never been disappointed. I've tried a few of the other items and they were also good. I consider Culvers to be head and shoulders above every other fast food place

Wow Culver’s is truly my favorite place out there, and I’m so happy to see them come to Florida! My favorite being the codfish dinner, and their walleye whenever it’s available.
Dam, you mean they made there way all the way to Florida. I'm a huge fan of the place. Me and my Grandparents visited one of the first Culver's. I know we waited forever for them just to get into Illinois.
I remember going on a trip with my family to Wisconsin. We came upon this new restaurant. We stopped by. We were amazed. It was a fast food place. But nothing like the sloppy and dirty ones we were used to. The place was clean. The food was delicious, best hamburger and fries we have had, from a fast food. We made sure to write the name down for our next yearly trip. I believe that was the first or one of the first Culver's that opened. My family, especially my grandparents were huge fans. Their ice cream definitely helped win us over. We tracked their progress. From deep in Wisconsin to further up the top, we were thrilled when the one in Beloit opened and were frequently visitors of that Culver's. Finally they made there way towards Rockford where we live, yes. I never thought that one restaurant, which I enjoyed so much back then would grow so much.
I didn't have an objection until you got to the pork tenderloin. The others before that I hadn't tried. But they have a good fast food pork tenderloin sandwich. You followed it by a big mistake on the fries. I'm not a fan of crinkle fries normally, but theirs are great. I quit watching after that because I don't have any faith in your opinion now.
Clearly the folks at Mashed had no clue what a pork tenderloin sandwich is supposed to be like -- I was rolling my eyes when they were trying to compare it to a McRib!!! 🙄😂

You go to Culver’s for two things primarily. The butter burger, and the cheese curds! 😋❤️❤️❤️❤️ I prefer culvers chicken tenders over raising canes or Chick-fil-A any day. Get more food for the same price.
The reason I like this chain, is because yes it is cleaner than most other fast food places. Also, I am disabled and a few years ago, another couple that I got together with they are also disabled. The wife is blind like me. But her husband is in a power chair. And the restaurant was incredibly accommodating in the fact that they brought our meals and refilled our drinks at the table. We all thought it was wonderful service. Also, I think their shrimp is pretty good. In summer specs I like their butterfly shrimp better than red lobsters. Also, who can’t miss their frozen custard desserts. Yum.
The buffalo tenders are my go-to entree there. So of course it is lowest rated by Mashed. Whatevs- I still enjoy them with a mix of ketchup, hot sauce, and crushed ghost peppers.

She seems to hate the sourdough burger, but it was one of my favorites. And a Reuban isn't a Reuban without thousand island dressing. Culvers is probably the best fast food place going. Where else can you get chicken, fish, burgers, shrimp and more in one place? And you can be pretty confident that whatever you order is going to be really good.
After hearing your review, I am a little concerned about any of your other reviews! Culver's has been listed as one of the best and fastest growing chains in the industry. I eat there frequently and have never been unsatisfied with them,. Your review is very negative! Who paid for it, McDonald's or Wendy's? I just saw this and definitely WENDYS throwing all that shade at the damn chili and every other product mcdonalds prob paid half of it to get the damn mc rib in there because culvers pork loin sandwich is better just add the damn BBQ sauce that's prob why mashed didn't mention the fact you can add BBQ sauce loll
Just like every other place, you can “make it or break it” depending on the oil & temperature plus the time. Too soon and the raw potato makes some people complain while if you overcooked them I will use them as kindling (and you can, literally). Bad food isn’t a reflection so much of the recipes of the chain, but the local managers and staff

Clearly the person that wrote this doesn't have a sophisticated palate. The coleslaw is probably a better coleslaw than any other chain. So I'm not too sure what they're comparing it to. The shrimp is actually pretty good. The patty melt is less than stellar and the fish is pretty good. The walleye is the best though. My biggest issue is many times the buns don't seem fresh on the chicken or burgers.
Depending on what store your at they tend to pre drop their buns causing them to become cold. If you ever walk into a culvers store with a silver or gold banner your in the right place trust me
The tenderloin sandwich is good not great but still better than the mcgarbage drowned in thick nasty BBQ sauce. I get the tenderloin with pickles, onions and mustard, anything else and it takes away from the taste of the pork. It's called German style cuz of the sandwiches German schnitzel roots
Whoever wrote this review is soooo off. The cheese curds are not great, just average. They have that thick hard breading on them that gets hard and cold fast. The cod is good. The Rueben AND patty melt are fantastic. Um, duh, sourdough is supposed to be sour.

You are wrong about this cheese curds. I mean this with respect, but as a Wisconsinite, their cheese curds really good compared to others, especially out of state. You do have validity with the point that they could be better. I agree, a Wisconsin brand should have perfect cheese curds. But they are still some of the best out there.
I love the fish and chips, and think they make THE BEST coleslaw, only improved by a few squeezes of fresh lemon juice. I absolutely love the butterfly shrimp, and have never had the weird aftertaste she speaks of. The cocktail sauce also tastes great to me....not at all like ketchup!
Culvers is our favorite fast food place. Honestly, we don't eat fast food but make an exception for this chain. Everything is so good and fresh. Their seasonal Northwoods walleye is outstanding for FF resto.
I guarantee they never even tasted half of these items. For example the Buffalo tenders were so popular at all three locations where I’m from, they’d all be sold out.
Although Culver's Cheese Curds are good, they're not the best... They, or anyone else, simply can't hold a candle to A&W's Cheese Curds, and it's not even close!!! Culver's Cheese Curd breading and overall taste pales in comparison than that of A&W's... But, I do agree that Culver's Onion Rings are the best of the best! I can go there and take down a Family Size order of Onion Rings single handedly...
I have never eaten at Culver's. I am familiar with the chain, and have seen their stores in my travels - just never had an opportunity to stop. That will change in early 2022 because there are two Culver's being built near where I live in Citrus County, Florida. I look forward to giving them a try - and thanks for the recommendations.
As aculvers employee i can say its a mixed list, everything made fresh is top tier, not a fan of shrimp, fresh fries are literally the best ive ever had. Fair-ish rankings imo.
Wendy’s chili is shit To bring them into a Culver’s review is to prove you get kick backs from Wendy’s. George’s chili has always been my go to on Culver’s menu. McDonald’s mc rib vs the a real pork loin? I’m sure you eat dog food when not doing food reviews.
Mashed must be eating at the wrong Culver’s, everything at my Culver’s locations is fantastic! The parking lots are always full, and the drive-thru lines sometimes extend to 75 cars.
I wish they would come up with a special sauce for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It comes with no sauce. Also, fyi, Wendy's used leftover meat for their chili. Sometimes 3 day old meat.
The Pork Loin Sandwich is Amazing. The Cheese curds would be so much better if they used the onion ring batter. The onion rings are the best thing at culvers.
It's funny that Mashed gives a really vicious review of everything at Culvers even though it is the busiest burger joint in Minnesota. McDonald's can only dream of being as busy as Culvers. But then, Mashed always gives biased reviews of every food and business they cover. If they like you they give glowing reviews, and if the don't they burn the place to the ground.
I'm going to have to try that Cod dinner. I love Long John Silver's, but the only one near me is 15 miles away, opens late and closes early. I wonder if they have Hush Puppies?
After asking a customer his opinion on the fish sandwich, he said it's the best fastfood one he's ever had. I ordered it and found it okay/ good, but I wasn't crazy about it. I won't be ordering it again there, I doubt. Their shrimp review I 💯 agree with and she forgot to mention how TOUGH it is to chew and way too much breading. I've ordered shrimp from 2 locations and same results. Mashed potatoes are horrible. Don't get their swiss cheese... It's like eating a plastic bag. Hamburgers are good but are overrated. Steak n shake is far better and cheaper and have real swiss cheese.
@@shac9131 around here we have a steak and shake, the franchise is on its third owner (sucker), it constantly opens and gets shut down. The franchise gets taken away from the current owner and gets sold to a new owner. It closes from either owner mismanagement or health department or inability to pay franchise costs. The burgers suck, the toothpicks (the fries) are lousy, and the shakes are the worst in the area (cuz there's a 50's style diner down the road). The only people that seem to go there are people that have a hard time chewing food

Disagree about the chili, the shrimp and the chopped steak. The announcer talks about the chopped steak being tough and chewy, which is odd because the “steaks” are made from ground beef as are all chopped steaks. It is almost as if they haven’t actually been to a Culver’s.
Not just for this clip but overall I think I'm done with Mashed. Culvers burgers a better product than any of the bigger chains. Mashed is kind of like slant news these days.

A year later, Wendy's chili has taken a major tune downhill. The last time that I had it (recently) , it had zero red beans. I like Culver's chili quit a bit. I had the Reuben and the sauerkraut had no zing to it. I've had the pot roast dinner several times and never had gravy on it (it wasn't offered), but they do have steak sauce upon request.

This video makes me want to order the sourdough patty melt. I haven't tried it yet, but based on how they reviewed other items, I suspect it's fantastic. Although Culver's Cheese Curds are good, they're not the best... They, or anyone else, simply can't hold a candle to A&W's Cheese Curds, and it's not even close!!! Culver's Cheese Curd breading and overall taste pales in comparison than that of A&W's... But, I do agree that Culver's Onion Rings are the best of the best! I can go there and take down a Family Size order of Onion Rings single handedly...
I have never eaten at Culver's. I am familiar with the chain, and have seen their stores in my travels - just never had an opportunity to stop.
That will change in early 2022 because there are two Culver's being built near where I live in Citrus County, Florida. I look forward to giving

As aculvers employee i can say its a mixed list, everything made fresh is top tier, not a fan of shrimp, fresh fries are literally the best ive ever had. Fair-ish rankings imo.

Mashed must be eating at the wrong Culver’s, everything at my Culver’s locations is fantastic! The parking lots are always full, and the drive-thru lines sometimes extend to 75 cars.
I wish they would come up with a special sauce for the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It comes with no sauce. Also, fyi, Wendy's used leftover meat for their chili. Sometimes 3 day old meat.

It's funny that Mashed gives a really vicious review of everything at Culvers even though it is the busiest burger joint in Minnesota. McDonald's can only dream of being as busy as Culvers. But then, Mashed always gives biased reviews of every food and business they cover. If they like you they give glowing reviews, and if the don't they burn the place to the ground.

Their shrimp review I 💯 agree with and she forgot to mention how TOUGH it is to chew and way too much breading. I've ordered shrimp from 2 locations and same results.
Mashed potatoes are horrible. Don't get their swiss cheese... It's like eating a plastic bag.
Hamburgers are good but are overrated. Steak n shake is far better and cheaper and have real swiss cheese.

@@shac9131 around here we have a steak and shake, the franchise is on its third owner (sucker), it constantly opens and gets shut down. The franchise gets taken away from the current owner and gets sold to a new owner. It closes from either owner mismanagement or health department or inability to pay franchise costs. The burgers suck, the toothpicks (the fries) are lousy, and the shakes are the worst in the area (cuz there's a 50's style diner down the road). The only people that seem to go there are people that have a hard time chewing food

Disagree about the chili, the shrimp and the chopped steak. The announcer talks about the chopped steak being tough and chewy, which is odd because the “steaks” are made from ground beef as are all chopped steaks. It is almost as if they haven’t actually been to a Culver’s.
Not just for this clip but overall I think I'm done with Mashed. Culvers burgers a better product than any of the bigger chains. Mashed is kind of like slant news these days.

Culvers pot roast was better when they first came out...they had slices of pot roast now it's more like pulled roast.

A year later, Wendy's chili has taken a major tune downhill. The last time that I had it (recently) , it had zero red beans. I like Culver's chili quit a bit. I had the Reuben and the sauerkraut had no zing to it. I've had the pot roast dinner several times and never had gravy on it (it wasn't offered), but they do have steak sauce upon request.
From one of the best fast food franchises , this video makes sure they don't want you to feed it to your animals ! I love Culvers !!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about being biased .

This video makes me want to order the sourdough patty melt. I haven't tried it yet, but based on how they reviewed other items, I suspect it's fantastic. Between this and some other recent videos, Mashed seems to be going out of its way to try and drive the negative clickbait with snide comments rather than try and produce an informative review... which I'm not helping by adding to their engagement numbers, but oh well.
