Good video, but a few corrections: * Though Samsung first announced Circle to Search, it was released on the Pixel on the same day, namely on January 31 (the release date of the Samsung S24). * The Pixel 8 Pro charges in 1 hour and 36 mins, so not over 2 hours (if you have the 30W charger that you talk about). Also, you say facial-recognition works better on the iPhone and the fingerprint sensor is faster on the S24U. Fair, but you should also mention that the Pixel 8 Pro achieves secure face unlock with a WAY smaller cutout than the iPhone and also offers an alternative with the fingerprint sensor. E.g. on the iPhone you have to pick up your phone from your desk to unlock it, on the Pixel you can just put your finger on it. Now, the S24U also has secure face unlock. I'm glad to hear that the Pixel 9 Pro (coming in a few weeks) will also have a ultrasonic fingerprint sensor .
I have been using Google Pixel 8 pro for more or less four months. The things that I hate about this phone are the overheating issues and the extremely slow charging, but altogether it's a great phone. I have never seen any lag, it has always been fast and smooth, and its display and photographic compartment are top. I am aware that it can't be compared to phones like Samsung s24 ultra or Iphone 15 pro max, but we should also consider that it is cheaper: at this moment, on Amazon it costs 699 euros! There is no way that Samsung s24 ultra and especially Iphone 15 pro max will have this price, surely not in the next future. I don't think my next phone will be a Pixel, but in the last two years I lost track of how many phones I had, and if there is something that I learned is that perfection doesn't exist, there will always be something we'll complain about.
@@gregjefferson8112 I had the P8P since launch with the fast-charging brick too. And recently, it has been charging slower than usual. Not sure if I have to look back at the battery settings but it all seems the same and not sure why the charge times are slower now.
@@RUmlas This is something I wanted to comment about. This issue started sometime around April and is related to some PD/fast chargers (e.g., Anker). What happens is the charging current (mAh) is jumping every few seconds from zero to max and this means that it isn't charging every few seconds! You can check this either by using an app like ChargeMeter or by going to battery setting where it will say "connected not charging". I can't find the pattern which chargers work and which don't (sadly Apple one work). I'm surprised that this issue is not talked about at all.
My fingerprint sensor has been flawless on the P8P, coming from a samsung z fold 5. I do also use facial recognition on the P8P since it has the same security certificate as the iPhone face id, for payment and other login stuff. The facial recognition on the P8P usually beats my fingerprint unlock anyway. This was something I missed on the newer Samsung devices since the facial recognition does not have the same security certification.
Pixel 8 Pro owner here. circle 2 search was available since launch of the phone, also face id is not useable when it gets a bit darker compaired to iphone where it works in complete darkness. also the phone gets extremly hot by very light useages to thr point i cant hold it anymore in my hand. i never game on the 8pro because of that reason. also there are alot of features that are region related. you can use some features in the US you cant do in Europe for example. Also when i record a video and move the camera not very slowly there are very weird ghosting frames i dont know how to explaine it looks as if there are some frames wobbeling around or missing
Over 2 hours??????? I have an official google charger 30W, which is what it supports. It takes 1 hour and 15 minutes from 0-100, from 25% (which is usually when i plug it in), about 50 minutes.
@@sanfordkells887 Right? Like I plug my phone in, I go do something, by the time I get back (15-20 minutes) I'm already 25-30% over what I initially had.

I sincerely hope with the 9 Pro they add 45w charging and it looks like they're going to get an Ultrasonic sensor.
