Why do I watch your Bible reviews after acquiring (with your help) 30 Bibles in eight translations including three premiums? Because I like to start my day with a friendly visit. You have a great set, good sound, and a nice presentation. I could see short Bible lessons in the same setting. Maybe someday a second channel? Or the same channel for that matter.
I'd like to hear Tim give some Bible study. He has a wonderful spirit, something I wish I had.
A short Bible study would perfectly complement the Bible reviews!
@@jackwagon4313 I was just about to say the same thing! This would be such a blessing :)
30 Bibles? I have a suggestion. I was in a similar situation. I had about a dozen nice Bibles, including an Allen and 2 Schuylers at that time. I started to be concerned about having so many nice Bibles when a lot of people only had a hard to read, cheap Bible or maybe none at all. So I prayed about it and tried giving them away. I had already realized that people tend to get defensive or insulted when I just say "May I give you a Bible?" or something similar. So, I say something like "I know you probably already have one or more Bibles, but if you don't have a nice one that you enjoy reading, may I offer you one? I am amazed by peoplea responses. The ladies usually walk off holding their new Bible like they are holding a Bible or like they are clutching their purse in a high crime area. The guys walk off holding their new Bible like they are walking with their girlfriend or wife with their arm around her giving other guys that look that says "Keep looking over here and I'm going to tear your head off and make you carry it around in a bag", borrowing a threat from Wodehouse's notorious Roderick Spode. So, the recipients go on their way rejoicing and you or I feel like a million bucks because we got to be used by our Lord to bless someone with a Bible he gave us the money to buy. Then we get to shop for more nice Bibles and reasonable prices. Recently I found a like new $300 MSRP Bible at a used book store for $50. Tim reviews a lot of very nice Bibles that are about $100 or less. Thank you for considering my comment.
@@TennesseeT Great work and bless you. I do not have 30 premium Bibles. I have many Kindle Bibles. 8 different translations and many specialty reference bibles.
Can’t wait to get my new ESV PSQ in Desert Camel! I hope the shipment arrives soon!
Supposedly mid-July, according to the website. Anxiously awaiting mine (same calfskin!!) . . .
Desert Camel leather is my second favorite binding after the Marbled Mahogany. The Desert Camel is great to carry in my hiking pack because it feels rustic and durable over a lunch break while along a mountain stream! Maybe I'll order my ESV PSQ based on on your similar order!!!
Love it! This Olive Green leather reminds me of my Grandmother's original Living Bible (circa 1970's) with green cover. I might have to change my order to this color option 🤨
It’s very similar! I have that bible. The old 1970’s Living Bible with the olive green cover! My pastors wife gave it to us last year as she had two. I am so excited to get the olive green NLT to match it.
I know exactly the Bible design you're talking about, I had one too
I just placed my order for the olive green full yap version. Thanks for sharing great content and bibles. This will be my first premium leather bible and I'm excited to use it daily to draw closer to God.
Allegedly the NLT may arrive this Friday or Saturday. I am just so excited as I just may receive my copy next week. Thanks, Tim
That is DEFINITELY a MSQ. Big win, as I've been asking for this for years! Can't wait for mine to show up!
I am hoping Schuyler redoes the CSB Quentel & PSQ
2nd this!
I'm patiently waiting for mine to come in the mail. I'm excited 😊
Me too...maybe less patiently...lol
I’m waiting too. I’m more eagerly awaiting my Portable Paragraph Reference LSB from Steadfast Bibles. It’s a race between Schuyler and them lol. Who shall win?
Just had to share with you brothers that I am waiting for my LSB Portable Paragraph too - and to preorder the ESV Full Yapp Credo. @@Matthew-307
Found you when I was looking for a new NLT a couple of weeks ago.
I’m a pastor of a church plant and your video on the “Leather-like” from Tyndale helped ease my worry thinking it was like old bonded leather. I wanted to bump to genuine leather, but needed to keep finances in check at the moment.
My dad does leather work, and he helped me recover (I wouldn’t call it a rebind) my NIV that I’ve used to preach for years, but I’m switching to NLT to help meet the needs of our congregation.
All of that to say, I’ve been binge watching all of your content lately, and I absolutely love your videos and your love for the Word.
I’m starting to save up for either one of these new NLT PSQs or an NLT Sonrise to be my new preaching Bible, hopefully early next year.
Great work, and thanks for all you do to show us these amazing Bibles.
Welcome!
Nice Bible! This should be the Bible for your next giveaway. You are very close to 100k subs... Congratulations, Tim!
I’m so Excited Tim!! I can’t wait to get my NLT PSQ shipped to me I got the calfskin chestnut zipper PSQ one!!🙏❤️🙌📖😊
My copy is allegedly to arrive tomorrow. Black with FY. Can;t wait! I feel like a kid on the night before Christmas.
Love it!! Can’t wait to get mine.
Thank you, Brother Tim 🌹⭐🌹
O I’m excited. I hope they ship them soon
Should be here this week.
Hi Tim, thank you for sharing this. I have been saving to purchase a premium NLT this year and was waiting to decide between this or Humble Lamb. I can now make my decision😊
And what's the decision?
I love Schuyler Bibles, I have an ESV, but I’m a baller on a budget, so I’m going Humble Lamb-I’ve wanted a Humble Lamb Bible for a while anyway, they are so unique😊
I just got mine in Prussian blue. Love it
Great walkthrough thanks Tim!
Have mine pre-ordered! Waiting on the email that it’s shipped.
Beautiful Bible. Would love to see Red Letter or Blue Letter! So now I’m going to buy this and the SonRise.
Really enjoy all your reviews of all bibles. I have a quentel ( which is big ) and just bought the older small psq. It's the perfect size bible for carrying around. Hoping Schuyler doesn't stop making them. Thanks for the heads up on the psq size change.
Schuyler Bibles are absolutely my favorite ones! I love the style and all what’s it is about In terms of design!
I love all the look and the new details and the new size as well. HOWEVER, I have to tell that when I heard that the FONT’s size was the same and only the pages were changed… then, for me I didn’t get excited because I do have a couple Schuyler Personal Size Bibles. So, I would get excited with this new size (which I like it probably better than the older one) but it need to have a SLIGHTLY BIGGER FONT. Otherwise, it is not a big thing for me.
Although, for people who don’t have yet the Personal size yet, it’s probably better getting the new size.😊❤️
Thank you for the video! Always really good!!!
They sorely missed a great opportunity with their new, practically mid sized PSQ, to improve on it by finally getting that old font size up to a solid 9 points.
Yes the bolder/heavier print makes it easier to read like a 9 would be, but I totally understand where you are coming from.
(upping the gsm a tad would’ve been another nice tweak, so then these improvements would truly make them Feel like new editions!)
Well with my wife's blessing I ordered the ESV psq zipper you inspired me 😊
I can’t wait to get mine and also get my hands on the NLT SonRise
That is my next Bible...if they don't run out of copies! Gotta a feeling that this will be a great benefit and blessing to the body of Christ.
Thanks Tim for your love for The Word of the Lord.
Great video review Tim. Much appreciated. I want to pick up an NLT premium and was so close to buying the Humble Lamb but (it's a personal preference) I just don't get on with the illustrations. Had they made a version without I would have bought it in a heartbeat as I love everything else about it. So that leaves me with Schuyler. I just can't make up my mind whether PSQ with 8.5 font or wait for full size to get that bigger font.
If my eyes were 15 years younger, I’d be all over this one!
Looks great!
awesome review
Great looking Bible. Love the color!
Me too!
I can’t wait to snag one of these!
That really looks ideal. I don't need a premium NLT and I already have a really good ESV. But if/when this new PSQ comes out in CSB, that's what I need 😃
Nice video. I love my NLT. Schuyler is the best. I would love to have a pocket size new testament Schuyler.
There is one difference. 2 ribbons vs. 3 in full size. This new PSQ would be perfect with 3 ribbons.
Glad I have one of the small PSQ’S.
My favorite bible and someday I will order it... love ❤️ the Olive 🫒 Green leather 😍
That color is awesome
Great review as always! However I would like to see an NLT Stridon version. I love the single column and I really need a 10 pt font. Even better would be if they did that with Amplified version but that’s my preference
I orders the new ESV PSQ. I’m hoping it comes in before my vacation a week from Sunday.
I love that color and the drop cap. Maybe this should be a 60th birthday gift for my husband. Hmmm
Nice. It's beautiful! I love my Schuyler's. The perfect MSQ for me would be full yapp, single column, 9 point font, and 3 ribbon. I like the overall size of this one.
Not super excited about the bigger size. Would love for Schuyler to reintroduce the NLT PSQ in the original size.
Very nice 😊
Tim I gotta be honest, I wish all the new psq’s were in this drop cap. The esv drop cap is gonna be nice but I LOVE the big thin letter lol. Ahh so many choices.
This is hyping me up to receive mine
It doesn't quite make sense to me why you would make the bible larger yet leave the small text size and the thinner paper. What is the point of that? What am I missing?
I explained this is my previous video: th-cam.com/video/I1cQVN5L3vA/w-d-xo.html
@@timwildsmith thank you. I’ll check this out.
If they made the Bible smaller like the previous PSQ, the font size would be even smaller than 8.5 which would be too small. They had to make it slightly larger so that the pagination matches the full size Quentel. Some also felt the previous PSQ was too small and that the new size is just right.
@@souldier2425 ok so it has to do with the spacing and font which is based off the full size, and it was that starting point that drove the size of this psq? If I understand that correct that makes sense. I do have a Csb psq in Tuscany and it is a hair too small for me. So this one may be a better fit. Also I prefer the NLT. Thank you!
Glad I held off on the preorder & went kickstarter for the Humble Lamb.
Really enjoyed the personal size.
Quentel & MSQ are to close in size imo.
I'm waiting with hopefulness for a redesigned NIV PSQ in black letter. Please please please, Schuyler!
Nice!
Very!
@timwildsmith, can you tell me how this new PSQ compares in size to NASB2020 prime reference bible. I think they are similar in size based on measurements.
Prime Reference: 5.5" x 8.25" x 1.25"
NLT PSQ: 5.4″ x 8″ x 1.1″
Love that size! Just want the same drop caps in the NLT in the ESV. Might be a dealbreaker.
Thank you for the review! Ive been whining about a mid size, and it sounds like this is it! (I just wish it was shocking pink, but oh well.) I wonder if Schuyler is trying out this size, font difference, before bringing it to all of the translations? I’m excited, mine is on order😊
Hello, Tim! Is the calfskin tougher and more durable than the cowhide? Also wanted to ask what leather strip the new PSQ designs are edge lined with? Thank you as always, God bless!
I pre-ordered one and it arrived today. I do like it. However, I wish Schuyler would do an ESV PSQ in their new style (drop caps, etc.) but without cross references (not following the exact same pagination as the full size PSQ). That would allow for a larger font, thinner Bible and be a perfect readable (for old eyes) everyday carry size IMO. I love Crossway’s ESV Heirloom Thinline, but find their 8 pt Lexicon font just a tad small. I love Schuyler’s use of the Milo font.
Awesome video. Thank you! How does the size compare to the ESV heirloom thinline edition? Similar size and thickness?
Slightly bigger... but not by much.
Thank you for this review.
I am wondering how a full yapp Bible changes with use, does the leather fold down over the pages with time and does that make using the Bible more difficult? Can you put a full yapp Bible on a bookshelf? Do you have any pictures or video of full yapp bibles that have a lot of use, and is it hard to turn the pages because the leather gets in the way?
Thanks again for your guidance and ministry.
Thank you for the review especially since EVB doesn’t make a point of the new size. Two additional thoughts - it appears they filled the larger page with additional leading while keeping the 8.5 font. Second, this larger size is almost identical to the ESV Classic Reference which I agree with you is more of a mid-sized format.
Trying to hit that Cambridge Concord sweet spot.
Yes!!!
I was super close to getting the new ESV PSQ. But the smaller verse numbers and the removal of the superscript cross reference markers were deal breakers for me. I get that many don't really use cross references much, but why have them at all if they are going to make them far less useable? At that point, I'd love to see them remove cross references entirely which could make it possible to have thicker paper or a larger font size without making the Bible larger.
I've been watching Tim for almost a year... I've never owned a premium Bible before watching him. I'm up to 24. Im hooked on the zondervan premiere collection. But im definitely going to order my 2nd schuyler after watching this! Bye bye $200.00
Here is my frustration, font size! I need something at least at 10 pt. The full sized is difficult to utilize from the pulpit but the small size is impossible to read!
Ok now I'm wanting one sooooo bad.. oh boy
Tim, please review the Spurgeon study Bible from Holman! It’s a beautiful goat skin leather with excellent study material for $50
finally🎉
Very Pretty Bible
It looks like this color is not available for pre-order. Do you know if they sold out, or if they will be posting at a later date?
Great video, I wonder if they’ll do this to the NKJV.
i got a question: if Schuyler were to make a single column PSQ NLT with the ornamental drop caps, do you think that would then become your new, new, new, new most favorite NLT?
One thing to note: this might be the first time Schuyler has put a concordance in a PSQ! (or PSC for the KJV crowd) I took a quick look at the preorder pages for the upcoming ESV PSQ . . . no mention of a concordance. But my thoughts on that are "can they really shrink the already-small font size for THAT?" at the time.
Is it weird to purchase both the full size NLT Schuyler and personal size? I already have the full size and really like the smaller version for travel purposes but feel like I'm spending too much money.
Definitely a midsize, catching Concord vibes. I love the size of the Concord so I don't mind the change but I feel for those who like the old personal size. I wish this new size got 3 ribbons instead of 2. Otherwise I can't wait to see the new Prussian Blue.
Can you do a comparison of other mid-sized Bibles like the LSB 2 column verse-by-verse?
Coming soon! 😉
Do you have any comparisons between the saddle brown and desert camel or Tuscany? It’s hard to tell the difference.
I don't have a Tuscany or Saddle Brown at the moment.
Curious to know how many were pre-ordered.
Hey Tim does it feel like the text is bigger than the OG PSQ?
Not bigger... but bolder. It's more readable to me.
I wonder how quality control will be. I received a new ESV Quentel a few weeks ago and the print quality was inconsistent. 😔
I have flipped through this one quite a bit and have not found any issues.
Jennifer my new ESV Quentel also has printing inconsistencies.
@@brandonvaara4060oh, I am so sorry yours is the same. I just keep telling myself nothing made by man is perfect and it really is still a beautiful Bible, but I was disappointed. It was a big investment and meant to be a gift - I would like to order another but I am slightly hesitant now!
I also recieved the ESV with apocrypha in gorgeous saddle brown... it is beautiful and with no issues... truly a blessing with larger font size.
Cross references at the bottom of the page should be standard for all Bibles
How does the industry distinguish between "reference" Bible and "study" Bible - what are the differentiating features unique to each? Thank you...
Reference means it has cross-references. Study means it has study notes.
Hi Tim. Great review!! I was wondering if you could possibly help me? I am looking to get an ESV Bible but I would like something that has a 9-10point font and is around 7inches by 5 inches. Do you know of any that meet this criteria? Thanks.
The ESV Heritage is great! th-cam.com/video/K_tVrEY01jM/w-d-xo.html
@@timwildsmith Thanks for the reply, I was looking at that (since you mentioned it in the bibles to rebind vid) But I was hoping I could get something with a little smaller footprint (maybe something like the NASB LP compacts?) Does an ESV exist that is at least 9point font and a little smaller than the Heritage?
You like it more that the NLT Caxton?
Is Schuyler planning to update their Wide-Margin Quintel’s too?
I don't know... haven't heard any updated about that yet.
Olive green!
It might just be an illusion, but when you had all the spines facing the camera the PSQ looks thicker than the Quentel. Are my eyes playing tricks on me because that wouldn’t make any sense with the pagination?
It's probably because the calfskin is thicker than the goatskin... because the text block is the same pagination on the same 28 GSM paper.
@@timwildsmithok thanks, I figured. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how the new ESV Quentel had room for a concordance but the new ESV PSQ did not. EV said the PSQ didn’t have enough room in the final signature but something must be different between the 2 layouts if that’s the case. I was curious if there was anything different between the NLT Quentel and PSQ as well that would make the PSQ thicker, but guess not. Thanks for this video!
What is the website?
To buy the Bible? Thank you
Link in description.
What do you recommend desert camel or saddle brown?
Desert Camel is my preference.
I wish someone would come out with a bible that is: verse for verse, thought for thought, interleaved,Jesus centered, red letter all in one.
Looks to be the perfect size… for me anyways ❤❤❤
I think so too!
There shipping by the way guys 😊
Love a good study Bible, but only want KJV. I'll study it out for the rest.
I nominate myself to get the CSB Notetaking Bible for my youth pastor or myself if he doesn't want it. He typically uses the ESV most of the time so I don't know if he'll take it or not; but if I win it I'll be sure to put it to good use because I believe that notetakers are world changers and history makers!!!🕊🔥🙏❤😇
The Caxton is still king 👑
If they would only do words of Christ in red!
