This arrived and I don’t want to put it down. It is breathtaking. The illustrations convey the devotion of our ancestors. The typeface with the moving “flourishes” at the end of some words inspires meditation and flourishing in our faith. It breathes, drawing the ancient into the now. It is a great resource for lectio divina.

I got so excited when I saw you were reviewing this bible! I pre-ordered it way back at the beginning of July with only the one image of it to go on...hoping I wouldn't be disappointed with it. I've been tracking it and it is due to come in a couple of days. I can't wait! It's so beautiful! Thanks for giving me a chance to see inside it!
I was able to pick a brand new copy of this same bible up from a seller on E-bay... back last October for a total of 47.88 including shipping and tax..... it arrived within 5 days of ordering.... a very great looking bible....

@@timwildsmith I also have a NASB wide margin single column cross reference bible coming today... that I saw in one of your reviews... It is Not the 2002 "judge"... though... it is from 2013..... I saw several offered... in genuine leather... some even from 1996... but I could Not find one from 2002... can you tell me what about the 2002..."judge".. sets it aside.. or makes it seem slightly superior or sets it a notch above.. other bible years for this particular bible?.. I am curious because I ran into this with the Dake's bible... I have several Dake's bibles...... in genuine leather... but I have Only found One year... 1976 the 9th printing... that seems to have a cover above the quality of any other year.... this bible year's leather just melts in my hands.. and the other years,.. just feel like normal leather... some stiffer than others..
I can personally attest that TH-cam video equipment isn't as easy to set up or deal with as viewers think. Things happen, and judging by this video, you can personally attest to! Great job! And glad we got to see your lovely wife. And nice job reviewing that Catholic Bible. And I being Lutheran, thou almost persuadeth me to buy it! lol

Fantastic video, Tim. You made the absolute best of an awkward situation. Meanwhile, it's great to see HarperCollins continuing to roll out more NRSV editions. It's my go-to version, but we've had meager pickings until the last year or two, especially anything on the premium end. I can't wait to see the editions they roll out for the NRSVue next year.

About pants...you know....David Letterman's organization is "Worldwide Pants, Inc.", maybe for a reason. ;-) Great review of the Catholic NRSV Bible (I'm a Nazarene, but grew up Catholic and my initial catechism training still plays prominently in my devotional times). NRSV has become one of my favorite translations. And love Becca's artwork, very talented. Congrats on the Belmont gig.

How is the translation? I've heard bad things about the translation. Or is it different being a catholic version of nrsv
I’m an NRSV fan in general. I have not compared the two, but I’m sure they are similar.
