I'm glad people are enjoying the music pickups as well... Music is such a big part of my life too and it's nice to talk a bit about it as well. Ozric Tentacles is pretty cool and Daft Punk Discovery...well, that's a modern CLASSIC!
Yo MetalJesus! Just wanted to let you know that out of the 50+ channels I subscribe to, I look forward to your new videos the most. Keep doing what you're doing. Oh! And definitely keep making long videos like this! Hell, making them an hour each. I'll enjoy them that much more :D
Thanks for including gameplay footage. It really makes your pickup vids top tier. So what was in the box at PRGE? And yes that was the Megadeth show I was talking about.
I really like collecting vinyl now, because when I am not in my Game Room, I am listening to music on an iPod. Most of my CDs are now in boxes. Vinyl just has great album art and it's cool to sit down and listen to an entire album without skipping songs... It's the way these old albums where meant to be played.
Hello metal jesus! I'm a big fan of these pickups videos. I enjoy the game footage and overall vibe. Actually I've watched all of these many times :D Keep up the good work and greetings from finland!
I've just discovered your channel/videos and I think they are extremely interesting and entertaining to watch. You also have very generous fans, lucky bastard :D Keep up the good work.
Awesome seeing you at Portland. That was one amazing Expo, I would have loved to get some homebrews but I ran out of cash really quick, which is EASY to do there.
Yeah, I was blown away at how well it's translated for the AVGN videos, even the hard slang words/sentences. I wonder if they do it manually, because in the old days, the auto-translation by TH-cam was so awful but fun to read. Anyways keep up the good work, and thanks for all you do!
I also picked up a copy of Juno First. I played the arcade back in the day and they never came out with a home release. It is pretty inventive in that you can plow past the enemies, not having to face them right away if the layout is bad. Sweet pickup on the Megadeth DVD too. I've seen those guys four times and each time was awesome.
Ultima IX Ascension is one of the most under rated Ultima games imo! I highly suggest going back and giving it a long play through, you won't regret it! I enjoy your videos because you're honest and open in sharing your love of collecting/gaming. You don't give a $hit what others think and you rock out to some good tunes. Keep up the good work!
The episode is shot and ready to go, but it's only been a couple weeks since the last one. I'll release it in November. I don't want people to get sick of them yet :)
Homebrews are non-retail or fan made games, and they often fall into two categories: 1) completely NEW games for an old console or 2) hacks of old games with new updated graphics, sound or gameplay. Often new homebrew games are BETTER than what came out originally, because there is so much information about programming old consoles now, especially on the Atari 2600
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MENTIONING Crystalis I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THE TITLE OF THAT GAME FOR MANY MANY YEARS NOW I CAN download the emulator and find the nes version. im so happy. i played that as a kid and it always burnt into my head
I saw I Mother Earth play a small club in Seattle back in the 90s and I thought they were awesome. I especially liked their Dig album with the song So Gently We Go. They were pretty awesome
Great review again MetalJesus.your reviews are among the best on the net.I share them on my video game page on Facebook.greetings from video game collector from Kosovo.
Honestly, I haven't given the game much chance... since I couldn't get it to run very well when it first came out. Now, I could probably get further...so I should probably do that!
I am a much bigger Whitesnake fan. Pickup the albums Slide it In and Whitesnake (1987) to start. Also they have a compilation album called The Early Years that has all their early English blues hits that is surprisingly great too!
Greetings from Seattle USA! Finland seems like a very cool country but unfortunately I did not have time to visit it when I was last in Europe. Maybe next time. Cheers!
I had the demo for Deathrow back from an old copy of official Xbox Magazine, and I played that demo like crazy. It was such a brilliant game, and now I've gotta find it again.
I blew $80 bucks in 10 minutes after walking in the door and hitting the AtariAge booth. So freakin' awesome! Also, I had a great time at your panel discussion Billy. You guys were pretty entertaining, as usual :)
The Sega 3D glasses work surprisingly well, but it's the games that are lacking. From what I've played...most of them are just alright. I really wish there was a big Master System homebrew scene making new 3D games for the system. That would rock!
Baulders Gate II: Dark Alliance is a really good game, great fun to play two players too - me and wifey played it together. Some really cool titles, especially the PC ones in that lot. I was lucky to come across a whole box of complete SSI strategy games for the Apple II recently.
Nice finds with those 2600 Homebrews matey - some really neat looking games there... :) Not heard of Necronomicon before - definately a game I'll be adding to my wanted list :)
Ooo! Warsong. That is the American version of a game also known as Langrisser, which is kind of a long running series in Japan. It had a bunch of Japan-only sequels, and it's spiritually related to the Growlanser series.
Ozric Tentacles are a great band! Hey MetalJesus. You should come next year to Bajaprog in Mexicali Mexico. Lots of bands like Ozric Tentacles and Progrock bands come to play
you can unlock Drizzt in the first baldurs gate to, never could find BG2 id love to play as artimus entreri though. glad to know there are other fans of those characters out there.
I first heard about Ozric Tentacles from this video and it sounded like something my Uncle knew. So I asked him and it turns out he grew up listening to them and he let be borrow a bunch of albums from them. Thank you MJR because they are now one of my favourite bands :D
Hot Wheels Turbo Racing is incredible for the N64. I Have been playing that for so many years. The same tracks never get boring. I wonder how the PS1 version you received compares to it.
Awesome pickup video! The home brew games look cool we have talked about getting some for our collection. I would love to have Halo 2600 That is a very cool Joe Satriani record I have never seen one
I don't see Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 in that Wii Bundle but you do have some great games like BTTF, No More Heroes, Muramasa & Sin & Punishment : Star Successor or Successor to the Skies. As it was known here!
What cool is I got a chance to see you during E3 2012. Never got a chance personally meet since we (Ambassadors for Eidos) had to head back to the hotel. Oh well, still very cool onstage. Love the retro stuff although I am more of a C64 and Amiga fan ;-) What is your impression of many of teh older IP's being updated through the use of kickstarter? Oh and no Amiga CD32 love? ;-)
Hey sweet pickups with Ultima! Seeing as you like prog rock and metal, I would like to recommend a pretty awesome band I used to listen to all the time. I think you might like the band "The Human Abstract" a lot. Their first album "Nocturne" is one of my favrorite prog metal albums of all time. Check out "Vela, Together we await the storm" sometime!
for the longest time, i still continue to search for a copy of double dragon for the atari 2600,..in ntsc format, not pal. so many selllers try to deceptively sell you a pal copy claiming it will work on ntsc.
Nice on you're pickups MJR are we gonna see reviews of those games ? By the way,for you're pickup on warsong the game original title is langrisser and it is a long running srpg series.
Great video! It's weird to hear anyone who likes Drizzt, I've been playing D&D for years and most people I have played with have either not cared for Drizzt or straight up hated him. I do like the hard luck Drow myself :)
I love this guys videos. You can tell he genuinely loves playing and collecting video games. Keep up the great work man!!!!!
I'm glad people are enjoying the music pickups as well... Music is such a big part of my life too and it's nice to talk a bit about it as well. Ozric Tentacles is pretty cool and Daft Punk Discovery...well, that's a modern CLASSIC!
Yep, that is taken directly from the opening to Might & Magic: Clouds of Xeen. It was too silly to not include :)

Definitely dude. Thanks again for the awesome Collection & No One Lives Forever guide. One of my all time favorite FPS games.
I'm listening to it right now actually. It's pretty rocking and the guitar solos are sick!
The Dark Elf Trilogy written by R.A. Salvatore are some of my favorite fantasy novels of all time. Drizzt Do'Urden is such a kick-ass character!
That was quite possibly the best outro i have even seen on the whole of youtubes!
Awesome Pickups! Alot of great retro games there. Your pickup videos are always great.

The two John Petrucci songs on Necronomicon are pretty rockin'. Lots of shredding and progrock goodness! \m/
Ultima IX Ascension is one of the most under rated Ultima games imo! I highly suggest going back and giving it a long play through, you won't regret it! I got this Kim Possible game as a child when it was released and I still have it! I never thought it would becomes something that collectors look for.
The image you used for this video scared the crap out of me for a sec there ;)
Nothing beats the KISS make up though! Awesome pick- ups!

Hello from Seattle, USA! I wonder how the CC option gets turned on... maybe I will have to look into that. Thanks for letting me know :)
Honestly, I haven't given the game much chance... since I couldn't get it to run very well when it first came out. Now, I could probably get further...so I should probably do that!

I had the demo for Deathrow back from an old copy of official Xbox Magazine, and I played that demo like crazy. It was such a brilliant game, and now I've gotta find it again.
No problem. I'm enjoying The Last Story on my Wii U currently. Works like a charm!

Ozric Tentacles are a great band! Hey MetalJesus. You should come next year to Bajaprog in Mexicali Mexico. Lots of bands like Ozric Tentacles and Progrock bands come to play
The Saturn shooter is Soukyugurentai. I read one time that it is pronounced "soo koo goo ren tie" (or "len" instead of "ren"). Great shooter.
Nice video and thank you for introducing me to Ozric Tentacles.
your videos rocks!
I love Sierra adventure games. I have just about all of them boxed, except for the LL series, which are copies.
you can unlock Drizzt in the first baldurs gate to, never could find BG2 id love to play as artimus entreri though. glad to know there are other fans of those characters out there.

I really liked my 3D glasses for my master system but they do give you a pretty good headache if you play for too long.
I really need that boulders gate game for my Xbox I used to have it and really need a copy again.
I first heard about Ozric Tentacles from this video and it sounded like something my Uncle knew. So I asked him and it turns out he grew up listening to them and he let be borrow a bunch of albums from them. Thank you MJR because they are now one of my favourite bands :D
Definitely want an arcanoid controller for my nes it's just not the same with the regular controller.
Yep. Lost 42 lbs over the last 6 months. It needed to happen, as I was enjoying food & beer a bit too much! :)
Boom Blox and Deadly Creatures (Wii) are worth looking into.
That monologue thing at the end..is it from the actual game? Sounds hilarious!
I loved space quest and police quest that I played on my Tandy computer.
Hot Wheels Turbo Racing is incredible for the N64. I Have been playing that for so many years. The same tracks never get boring. I wonder how the PS1 version you received compares to it.

Hey sweet pickups with Ultima! Seeing as you like prog rock and metal, I would like to recommend a pretty awesome band I used to listen to all the time. That Kim Possible game looks very much like Viewtiful Joe! Can anyone confirm it being similar in gameplay?
Great video! It's weird to hear anyone who likes Drizzt, I've been playing D&D for years and most people I have played with have either not cared for Drizzt or straight up hated him. I do like the hard luck Drow myself :)

Just wondering, do you listen to many death metal or early black metal bands?
