Glad to see devs working on bugfixes as well as 'behind the scenes' improvements, not only focusing on new content. This way, codebase health and developer experience is steadily improving. Development can move faster and easier, and potentially go farther places in the future (coloured lighting/other unthinkable stuff)
Decorated pots are one of those items that sound useless, but are actually super cool. They should let us store liquids there as well. If You break it, it will spill the liquid out.
Basically same as if yoh bucketed it into that spot?
@@youtubeuniversity3638 That's what I was thinking of. But maybe making that liquid's source disappear, instead of being omnipresent. It's cool that buckets can create water or lava sources, but IMO pots don't need that feature.
Yeah, that would be cool
so waterlogging and its a grate block?
you should be able to silk touch the water pot and have a clay bucket.
Im so excited to use these pot changes in contraptions with my favorite block that has a 1 tick delay
why so salty
I really like the new "Experimental Features" screen you made!
Yeah, it's awesome - and credit to bl4ckscor3 who made that setup!
Thank you!
I kind of hope that there would be a swamp variant of the skelly that shoots poison arrows, to replace the skelly with poison arrows.
cool thing
I hope the copper bulb gets back its revolutionary features. It was such a good block. Or maybe in 1.22, a new block with the 1 tick function? I hope so. But the chances are very slim since bedrock redstone is hardcoded to be 2 tick and parity issues and stuff
The issue i and most of the technical community have with that is that there never _was_ any parity to begin with. Especially not in the redstone system. They are two very, very different systems, bedrock and java redstone.
might as well fix it now@@joda7697
it still has it why would they remove the fact it stays lit up
@@timohara7717 The staying on or staying off feature of the copper bulb is also useful. But having a single block for 1 tick delay is also very useful for advanced redstone builders. Redstone has been stuck in this awful 2 tick limit for ages now and all we could do is use many blocks like scaffolding or pistons just to get that 1 tick delay. Mojang then showed us the copper bulb and everything got so much better. And what did they do? They removed the 1 tick delay, because of """""""parity""""""". And funny thing is, bedrock and java redstone aren't even that close being the same. Bedrock redstone doesn't have quasi connectivity, order of events, sticky pistons have longer tick delays and can't unstick blocks. The only good thing it has is moveable tile entities and that's literally it.
@@MrBrineplays_ i feel they might fix leaves and scafolding one day meaning your stuck
Speculation: Trial keys will be used... to unlock something.
I think it's the secret cow level in decked out. No wait, that's the dungeon master's key.
Huge if true
truly
Thank you, slicedlime. So, if you could get all of the trial spawners to activate and not kill the mobs, you could theoretically make a mob switch? Since they are persistent?
sadge ... it won't let me use my slicedlime emojis
Persistent mobs don’t count towards the mob cap, so no.
I’m excited to using pots for item filtering.
Do you have a design for one?
@@rvgnthe same system we aways did but replace a hoper for a pot.
just a redstone system that let items pass above a certain number and stops when below to never empty the pot
@@BooelGaymes pots don't pull items out of inventories, so that won't work as you describe
@@BooelGaymes I've thought about doing that (with tweaks so it works), but I don't really see an advantage. At least two hoppers are required. I just don't see an advantage with using a Pot other than to claim it was used.
@@coolreader18 if you put a hoper point at it on top it solves this problem
Always appreciate your videos for all the details of whats in the releases. Excited for the changes coming in 1.21. The changes to the decorated pots is also very welcome, I just wish they could also hold fluids directly, allowing for potions (and other liquids) to be stored in bulk, inside them. (also would allow for filtering of potions by type) Clicking on them with a filled bottle (or using a dispenser) would empty the bottle into the pot, provided it has room. Using an empty bottle would perform the reverse. I think this would be a pretty logical function. Thanks again!
Thanks for your update-videos! 👍
This update has me hyped big time. I'm especially going to have a lot of fun with the updated pots and the breeze.
That's a wonderful effect with the arrow breaking the pots. Are we going to get elytra boost blocks (from the Xbox 360 4J Studios), and wind charge weapons from the Breeze mob?
I'm a dunderhead. The sniffer eggs are the last holdout of a category of blocks where the player could actually tell how much time they'd spent in the game. The copper blocks used to oxidize at a set rate outside of random ticks, and snowfall could not be altered via the gamerule randomtickspeed. Much like how it is in your Seasons mod, I'd have preferred a way to edit the amount of time changes took via commands, as tying them to random tick speed completely negated a good chunk of the impact of copper blocks relating to time.
RIP Joshcool - 13:37. You fought valiantly against that skeleton
You produce the best minecraft update news videos by far! Better than any I've seen ever, as a matter of fact. Thanks slicedlime!
That decorated pot change just made filter items obsolete for the application of single item filter systems. That's neat! Still pretty pissed about the copper bulb though, which of course, isn't your fault, just thought i'd mention it.
Mojang has excelled themselves with this new update. As a builder I am so excited for the new blocks.
Really glad to see that no Sliced Limes were hurt in the making of this video. 😅
2:10 You can use arrows to send messages!!!
Named arrows should have a little piece of paper attached to them, like a message.
Better shield send my mind on a freaking rampage!!!
A full-on cinematic of smashing a shield head on into an Ender Dragon kind of Rampage!!!!!
Picking up pots with stuff inside would be wonderful
I am absolutely STOKED to start being able to change the boat texture and model based on its name with a resource pack and emf/etf
Overall pretty good update! Thanks for keeping us informed!
New release! Lets go!
Pretty good video!
horse donkey etc is the best change!
Dude, heck yeah!!
Thank you!
A lot of small but nice changes
I'll miss the old bats, but the new ones are cute
Thank you for videos
Here’s the King to bring us everything in 1.20.3!!
nice summary of everything quite interresting
and not too long
Maybe dont nurf the copper bulb. 1gt delay was the best part of it
no no one wouldve used that they still have custom lighting and flip bit stop lying
@@SirReal314 source?
Censorship test
@@timohara7717 Source: Any TMC Discord. Luke, you play on bedrock so it is basically useless to you. If you had non-random redstone then you might design a complex contraption and understand why we all like the old bulb so much
Any chance copper doors could be made resistant to zombie attacks?
that would be cool
I still advocate for grates allowing water through with or without waterlogging. what's the point of calling it a grate without having the functionality of one?
because no other grate does that all grates should do that
Copper grates should add a lot of new build possibilities, especially if you like steampunk style builds this should be good.
Question: will there be snapshots/betas coming out later this month or are you and the devs done for the year?
Lime isnt going to reveal unanounced information here. But i'm sure some devs will we working into the new year, even if many take a break.
I'd expect a bit of a pause to the snapshots before the next, but that doest mean they are not working on them in the background.
usually they leave us something big to chew on b4 going on holiday
hey look
YES ITS OUT! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH❤❤❤!
12:48 reminds me of the legend of zelda
I love it
Well i am very happy sheilds are going to have more uses now we can protect ourselves from falling projectiles above us
9:45 that should really be changed to output a different signal strength depending on the oxidisation stage, somewhat analogous to the light level.
Agreed, such a missed opportunity
idk it could be cool but then people will complain you have to use repeaters now. ehh its fine
7:41 Though still not a tuff fan, definitely an improvement at least.
The bat really needed an updated model/design
Whoa, when did the new / upload / templates / adventures / experiences / inspiration interface get added to the create world menu??
That’s the Realms menu.
A pretty good minor update imo, usually it's just bugfixes but I'm glad to see pottery given a technical use & tick commands.
U still can't place them automatically to my knowledge which _severely_ limits their utility :<
Very excited for this and agree it's an _amazing_ update, but gods does it get my mind racing in ways that aren't possible to act on without automating the placement of decorated pots (256x hopper speed anyone lol?)
you can use pupkins@@foul-fortune-feline
so wait i’m confused, did they also add the 1.21 blocks in? or are those there just cuz?
I'm so glad they're finally completing the Caves and Cliffs update
I'm so glad they're finally completing the adventure update
no bundles
huh?@@childish4487
I think it would be better to have the oxidized copper bulbs be the strongest light source. It's neat that they stay powered even after the redstone power is cut off, but that's more of a struck-by-lightning feature. The new bat and breeze look ugly, and the trial chambers don't look as if the breeze belongs in them. I'll need to make a new world to be sure, but I'd have thought there would be more trapdoors with pitfalls leading to lava, cacti, and stalagmites, and more walls consisting entirely of doors or fencegates that the breeze blows us through and slams behind us. I reckon the blaze, which relights those candles, ought to oxidize blocks more quickly--or perhaps the guardian laser can do so. As for the trial key--perhaps a way to move spawners?
uhh no either these are coming its not their opinian or its op and that first point kinda would ruin anothe rpoint and people will dox you
@@timohara7717 Yeah, I've been under assault since three years ago. These features are listed under 'experimental' and 'development', which is why the 1-tick delay got changed; the Minecraft development team can and will change anything that isn't announced or currently in use, simply because they can, and because the community is just as hostile as 2009, whilst no longer writing things down publicly because they're chicken.
chorus farming just got a lot more interesting
It looks inspired by one of minecraft dungeons dlc
"Decorated pots containing the same item now stack"
Well now we simply _NEED_ to have dispensers place them lol (Seriously, if we could place them automatically they would be _absolutely revolutionary_ for deep storage and item retrieval)
Do the trial spawner mobs and rewards have a limit, or can you really have a LOT of players and a LOT mobs?
Form what I've seen myself and others in videos, there seems to be no limit on how the amplification goes, both on number of mobs and loot dropped.
9:07 the way he specfies copper bulb changes state immendiately :(
Copper doors should only be openable by players and not by mobs.
this is cool
When are you going to improve the bulp?
2:56 I was very angry about the fact that on one of my worlds(servers) bats keep popping up in the spawn area and my NPC_Sentinels keep shooting at them and for unknown reason(I did shorten the spawn protection area to the smallest size) they can not kill them with arrows, which is so annoying that I made a clock under the spawnarea that kills them in an interval. But since 1.20.3 and 1.20.4 this kill command does not work anymore, and trying it to get to work (because documentation and Mojang is not compatible) I only ended up killing my livestock and fully trained horses, which made me even more furious. So THANK YOU MOJANGG/MICROSOFT for agonizing the start of 2024.
If anyone finds the solution, please make a post on as many platforms, because this is so annoying, and thanks for helping out some new item changes.
I again went on a trying-spree and finally I discovered that this "/kill @e[type=minecraft:bat]" works, but if I added the distance in the command, it did not work. Keep in mind!
Command works fine with distance in it too. You probably specified a single number instead of a range if I was to guess.
Opinion: Pots are great but a huge missed oportunity for stackable storage. For all that matters they are nice decorations but in all honesty, no one is gonna use them for storage instead of a chest. They would be replacing a 27 stack storage container for a 1 stack storage container. There is also an issue with it having no interface when every other interactable container in the game has one. Not a huge issue if it wasnt for the fact that we now have to break it and recraft it in order to make it useable again. By sheer virtue of usability and convenience, these pots will be completely underutilized for storage because of this.
they are made of sediment and not wood
and also you dont need to recraft it where did you get that and why is breaking it a big deal?
Despite all the weird decisions and controversies, I think Minecraft is really feeling like a much more polished game all of a sudden, and this update does a lot to improve that. Actually a great update for one that is so small.
finally out of beta
now hunger exists
When are snapshots starting?
I would love to see the tick delay of the copper bulb be different depending on the oxidization state. I know in previous snapshots the tick delay was 1 tick rather than 0 ticks, but was the change due to bedrock parity?
Petition to make trial spammers break for 4 min 20 sec.

I just commented while I don't know what to write here.
Happy to see people excited even though I'm really not. The unnovation behind the scenes has got me too bummed to really care at least for an update or two.
huh?
I can't believe they renamed grass to short grass. This is my least favorite update!!!!!
I wouldn’t be so harsh on the update as I am part builder and part redstone. But god dammit Mojang, put Copper Bulb back into one tick delay please. It is a revolutionary feature not a bug. If that is because of Bedrock. No, just no. If Bedrock is the main reason why. Just making Bedrock redstone works like Java. Sure it will be hassle as you need to rework the entire redstone in Bedrock altogether. But I like redstone in Java. It is much smoother.
yea if your saying to overhall somethign so you can have an obscure feature its never happening
So is Mojang pretending the change with bulbs and crafters never happened? Why?
they do that with every bug half of them completly forget like you do to dfeatures i love
What's with Minecraft adding new mobs that drop no loot?!
Didnt they used to drop like blaze rod ? Its useless
this is the first iteration of the mob, what are you even talking about
and yet experimental still doesnt work in realms, funny
Bat change is odd. Just looks worse now
The older was way worse
mojang is lazy and ruining minecraft why the change n bats WE WANT LEGACY BATS BACK
