Minecraft just released a 1.21 snapshot 23w42a which added the NEW Crafter! A block that let's you auto craft with redstone! Aside from the huge possibilities of automating more farms, I wanted to get as creative as possible with these things which accidentally led me to DESTROY a redstone world record!
Also this video took me a day start to finish lol

To elaborate on why the Crafty Crafter Counter is a Minecraft record:
- It is the SMALLEST base 10 counter in Minecraft
- Also the smallest auto resetting counter in Minecraft
- It also has TWO OPTIONS for a carry system one that's constant and one that's a pulse
-Literally taking a comparator output from any of the blocks will give a slightly different functionality
Also it is called the CRAFTY CRAFTER COUNTER!!! Not CCC that's boring and too easy to say smhmhmh
All this btw in only 4 blocks :)
It's so elegant. If you swapped the hopper for another dropper with some redstone would that make it any faster? i guess it wouldn't be reversable then though. idk im a noob at this stuff.
Noice, the really fast crafter was what I was looking for tonight, quality.
plus we all know ccc stand for The Center of Chaos Containment (please someone get this reference)
it's too small, basically MHF imo
Can you modify the Crafty Crafter Counter, to make it a Crafty Crafter Countdowner?
So like, you can input a number, and then the crafty crafter countdowner makes redstone pulses exactly that many times, while counting down
Mumbo: A redstoner
Crafty: A red-stoner
this commennt was so well put ,so good that you made me laugh.
Redstone: A reder stone
Stoned
Congradulations. You have been added to the hall of redstoners who invented something that will probably be used a lot. I think
I mean, it's a counter that literally counts to 10 (0-9) the perfect thing for a digit counter or anything based around the number 10. It might not just be "up there" with an Etho hopper clock, it might even match it.
It would be crazy to be in that group where Etho is
@@KingTaltia in terms of usefulness, no, etho hopper clock will never be beat. in terms of number of times it will have been built? crafty counters are going to easily take the cake.
The latest snapshot broke it lmao
I don't get whats so crazy about it, and it's not complicated either ao im 100% sure at least a few people have done it already
Trying to understand the possibilities that are unlocked with the Crafter makes me look like its face.
And Mojang said this wouldn't be revolutionary.
Lol

i’m sorry, but that has to be a moustache
Are you turning into mumbo jumbo block?
Crafty Crafter Counter*
Every single time some sort of redstone component gets added, people immediately spam out the most creative shit I've ever seen. Can't wait to see what other creators come up with and how this will effect auto-farming certain items
You know, you could probably make a shape-based password lock with these crafters. Like, on the surface you disable/enable a certain pattern of spaces, then you push a button and it pulls it into the wall and tries to craft something with a certain set of items, and if it doesn't work the attempt fails?
Unfortunately, Crafters cannot be moved.
*but the walls can*
@@lexo632*tile entity moment*
@@daggieYT java edition moment, really

The Crafty Crafter Counter means you can essentially store an infinitely expandable signal strength variable in 4 blocks, that's absolutely insane, and I'm excited as hell to see what people make with it.
1 wide, but not tileable. Dropper getting power would power any other system on its sides if you tried tileing
@@tfairfield42 Tileable as in you can repeat the sequence infinitely, not that they can be placed directly next to each other, sorry for not clarifying.
Now we need a device where you provide the ingredients, fill a 3x3 space with the recipe (may need a filler item for empty slots), and makes as many of that recipe as it can, returning all unused ingredients to the player when its done
I want a dropper that places blocks. Imagine how crazy that would be!
I made something similar that connects to a storage system but it ain’t automated
Rays works already made this exactly :)
Subtract to 9, and have a circuit complete for when the item is finished. That circuit could enable a hopper underneath the crafter and allow it to finish taking everything out I believe. The issue is, I don't know the order that the hopper would remove blocks (i.e. each slot in order vs an entire slot). Fun idea!
@@spookzer16We would have self building factories
The carry circuit and segment display ideas are wild, I can't wait to see how these are used in the future
i'm not a genius with redstone but it made me want to put a clock in my world. crazy how now i feel i can make one kinda easily xD
7:35 You can actually use dried kelp, which is even cheaper than iron
can't you not uncraft dried kelp blocks, or am I misremembering?
@@tonyleier
You can uncraft dried kelp blocks just fine. They're bulk storage.
Or just use hay bale or coal blocks
even better use bone block
You do want to be cautious with your selections. If the item ever makes a valid recipe before the full block, it breaks the system.
@amanchaudhary5772 -- Coal is fine, but if you use hay bales, you will make bread at the third step.
@abhijiths5237 -- Bonemeal will immediately craft into white dye.
Iron nuggets work because nuggets are only used in mixed recipes, and a single ingot breaks into nuggets.
The community doesn't often name circuits after players. This definitely deserves to be one of those times.
Because they are usually re-creating actual logic circuits which already exist.
I'm totally on board with calling it the crafty crafter counter. It's been quite a while since we got a circuit the community agreed to name after a player.
Crafty counter is a valid counter to Rays arguement that it should be a redstone output of 15. The CraftCounter is the first compact mechanism in Minecraft that counts in Base 10. That's better than the Hex counter system of 0 to 15.
Well done. I will call it the Craft Counter.
This will stick. You brought this idea to me.
IMO, it should output >9 when every slot has more than one item. That would make it quite simple to feed a multi-item recipe and craft only when it won't leave any slots empty.
I guess this is what those random people who use computers on trains are doing. Love your work btw
Oh no he's revealed to much we must contain him!
I was waiting for someone to finally make a combo lock with this, and of course its crafty who delivers
This is actually kind of insane, I'm excited to see its application in extended redstone systems or farms. This can seriously condense a lot of machines that are normally hampered by the previous minimum limitations of not having a Crafty Crafter Counter! I spent about two hours this morning seeing if I could condense it any further, and to no avail. Good job!
Woah... i think you did it, your system will be immortalized as the Crafty Crafter Counter.
And yeah, it is fun to say and rolls off the tongue as easily as the Etho Hopper Clock in my opinion.
4:30 HAHAHA its the Geometry dash menu theme but solo drums 🤠
Yes
You have to be impressed by this crafty crafter
Finally some new cool redstone Block
Dude! You're a freakin redstone pioneer!! Love the CraftyCounter!! I'm so impressed with what the community has done with this new block in such a short time.

quick note about your multi-stage crafter at 2:50. The last stage where you were making trapdoors didn't actually work. It was spitting out pressure plates. because that recipe gets formed while it tries to form the trapdoor recipe, if you just spam the crafter with pulses, it'll spit out the first recipe it can. it's a great pressure plate maker though!
nice find, didn't even realize.
Oh also the reason why iron blocks and gold blocks won't work in crafty's crafty counter is because of weighted pressure plates, right?
Yep, that's right
Not only pressure plates but also because of nuggets, the single iron would become nuggets before the crafter would have a chance to craft the full block
Your segment on using the crafter for a combination lock gave me an idea for how to make an even better input.
The one you presented only made use of the crafter's ability to output signal strengths from 0-9, but each digit of the code requires you to enter the crafter's GUI, several incriment/decriment clicks, leaving the GUI, and then pressing a button to input the digit.
What I suggest you do is make use of the positional information about where items are in the crafter.
Start with the crafter 100% disabled, and have up to 9 unique items waiting to be pushed into it with hoppers or droppers (hoppers are simpler, but if you react to the signal strength of 8 the dropper could be faster)
As the user enables each slot, that'll be the slot that the next item goes into.
Then once all the items are in, pull them out and read what order they come out of the crafter in for your sequence.
Just make sure the user disables all the slots again before resetting. Perhaps that could even be when you pass the signal for the door to close.
You can also use a honey block for a base 5 counter.
Imagine making an actual clock out of this. Honestly that's something that I always wanted but never came to be now it seems that possibility is coming to be even easier

Man crafters are so much fun, I never would’ve thought of using them for a counter but that’s so clever. It’s also so cool seeing other people’s auto crafters, I was pretty proud of my 1 wide tileable 4x hopper speed designs but yours was so clever it makes me want to rethink it.
You are such a professional stoner!!! You came up with all that so fast wow!
😏
@@thatchapthere😂
"stoner":🪴🌿
@@Rudxain You understood, congrats
This is a pretty damn clever idea/creation. I never even tought of looping them for any functionality, the only use-case I tought of that usedmore than one was to chain them in on eway or another (dispenser crafting and/or bamboo to bamboo products crafting)
at first i didn’t like the implementation of the crafter’s comparator reading, as 9 is such an awkward number for redstone. but it’s use in base 10 displays is super cool and i can’t wait to see all the creations that will use your counter
You can also use the crafter with 8 slots disabled to make a 8 strength signal
4:25 gotta love when the bass track of the geometry dash menu theme starts playing
its the drums
Damn! Literally three days ago i commented on Mumbos video "Hold on, so its a new counter? If you craft ingots into nuggets, nuggets back to ingots in a loop, its now the worlds smallest counter"? You beat me to it Crafty! Props.
Amazing system! I was making a pattern lock interface because I loved how it looked like a little keypad, and if you get the wrong password you can make it flash red. The counter is quite amazing, and along with the copper block I have a feeling I systems will be much more compact
This is so stupidly simple its amazing, love it
That carrying counter reminded me of a 7-segment display i made before using piston feed tapes which moves for each number and eventually moves the next place/digit.
Wow, this could literally be used for a directly decimal computer rather than binary or hex. That's amazing!
To be fair, you could already do any base up to 16 with signal strength, decimal is actually easier to work with because it's very simple to implement the "signal strength above 9 -> carry" logic. This counter could be used for a *very* compact adder though, similar to a design built by peterjiangTW (their design incorporates a dropper-based decimal adder into a piston tape display, making it very compact)
Combine a shulker farm and a bamboo farm to make the world's wildest storage system with auto-crafted shulker boxes
It's literally perfect for counting! The advancement from single digits to larger digits is almost an afterthought. Excellent job.
- Etho hopper clock
- Crafty crafter counter
- copper flopper
Got It! (I'm loving it.)
The crafty crafting counter really is quite novel, thanks for explaining it so well!
The Crafty Crafter Counter is great! I also just tested and you can add 1 extra item to the dropper (e.g. 10 iron nuggets instead of 9) and it will count up to 9 and reset to 1 rather than 0. A small little extra utility that I think could come in handy for some applications
Some ideas:
>A version of the bamboo one that makes an equal amount of each building component you could need
>Locks on chests that make it so that the crafter only makes a few stacks before pumping the raw materials into a general chest or only makes them after you have a few stacks of the raw material (good to be paired with the one above)
>adding a timer to TNT cannons/tunnel bores for either visual flair or to tell the user when to next use it
>a dye farm that turns bones from a skeleton farm into Bmeal, dispenses it onto the grass and then pushes that grass with a piston to collect the flowers and then makes them into dye. (just love ones with lots of steps.)
So while a counter in Minecraft has already existed since hoppers were added, this new design is absolutely the most compact so far.
btw, you dont need to use composters anymore, you can just use another crafter and lock some slots to get the signal strenght you need. makes it a little easier, but also a little bit more expensive for survival
But much more laggy, as crafters are tile entities, and also I think composters are movable?
@@minecrafting_il true, but its still easier when using crafters, to use other crafters for comparison. also, composters skip 7, so thats something where the crafter would even be more useful, if you need a signal strenght of 7 for some reason lol
Wow! The combination lock. Now, we can make Elevator floor buttons.
Crafty crafty counters truly are an innovation! They're brilliant! Naming them something so silly is a stroke of genius! I guess the redstone's alright too.
Crafty Crafter Counters*
mojang : here is the crafter, so you can finaly make auto farm !
craftymasterman : nice ! i can make a 9 digit counter now !
mojang : wtf
Minecraft supercomputers about to go brrr with this item
Im not smart enough to know the uses for this but im pretty sure this is insane and will lead to many amazing redstone stuffs
The Crafty Crafter Counter actually has the potential to revolutionize certain High-Tech redstone systems, because it lets you introduce a Base 10 Numbering system to the game.
The greatest thing is how the implementation of the crafter and its simplification of many resdstone circuits can be compared to how the various advancements in programming languages have simplified programming. Giving us to push forward at a faster 0ace do what was infeasible before.
This really feels like the same level of innovation as the Etho Hopper Clock. This is gonna revolutionize and compact so many Redstone builds
Wow! this video makes my redstone look like trash. the observer looking at the signal 8 redstone dust is the most brilliant idea ever. and the crafty crafter counter is on a league of its own. You and Ilmango are my favorite redstoners!!
Honestly, I was wanting the crafter to need a end game fuel source like dragon breath as a balancing mechanic, but you using them as a counter circuit makes me change my mind
I love it! The crafty crafter counter is so simple but so brilliant!
Using a system of tileable crafters, shulker boxes dispensing on top of hoppers, and mass storage of resources, one could make a machine that crafts any item in the game in mass on demand if they have a shulker stock of every base item
Very good video, I love the idea of calling it CC-Counter as a shortened version.
As someone that plays modded mc and has had automated crafting for almost a decade, I’m really glad to see the rest of the community get so excited about what drew me into the modded scene in the first place 😊 just wait til y’all get pipes and autosorter blocks, then y’all will be livin the dream I promise
By adding copper bulbs on the other side from lamps - give somewhat fun results
for the lock at about 4:50, it could be cool if you select the number and then put an item in, like a pass card. It gets taken out by a hopper and then the door only opens if you have the right item and code.
Can't wait for the 1 tick quantum crafter computer and simulate life in it
This is actually going to be incredibly useful. Well done, my friend!
Crafty: "Not only can it go up and down"
My brain: iT cAn AlSo Go SiDeWaYs
I think your content is high enough quality, that people who are into Redstone would like more objective and descriptive titles, rather than the click bait-y one. This video is a valuable source, but you couldn't easily search for it. I almost skipped over it because i didn't realize it was about the new blocks.
Redstone computers looks way smaller after the crafty crafter counter dropped
You could make a pattern lock by blocking specific tiles of the crafter, then loading items into it that will craft into an item which will go to an item sorter where it checks if the item is correct
I discovered a way to make the crafty counter cycle by 4 or 5 instead of 9, you can simply use the honey block recipe (4 bottles + honey block makes 4 honey bottles, and 4 honey bottles make a block and outputs the 4 empty bottles)
The auto crafting table is quite literally a byte, people who make computers will love this.
Ok but the crafter counter is so useful is redstone computers
It’s unreal how many new possibilities there are with crafters and the copper bulbs. Like it’s a new age of redstone here. Displays are easier than ever, counting and computation is easier, memory is trivial. What an insanely exciting time!
Rip
For the ones that need the right items in order, how do you deal with them becoming unloaded and the redstone order randomising as the chunk is reloaded?
It's incredible!! It's really simple and cool clock!
6:10 not only it's fast, lagless, but it's also Grian-proof?! Damn that's cool !
Crafty: I made a counter with crafters! This is revolutionary! It can count up _and_ down! It can count to 9 and all it takes is some droppers, hoppers, crafters, redston-
Lectern: Am I a joke to you?
The difference is this can be automated with another circuit. The lectern needs a player to turn the page.
@@gierrah yeah but this can only count to 9
@@vaguedestruction And? Having a container that you can easily change the redstone output by adding or removing a single item is incredibly useful. It doesn't make other blocks useless, but it's certainly useful in places where a lecturn would make no sense being, since it can be automated.
@@gierrah ok true but barrels are also useful like that. this is just more compact
what i find funny is that some other youtuber complained about the crafter outputting a signal strength of 9, making the tileability of an automatic crafter way harder and bigger yet here you are constructing a small and easy tileable auto crafter
You know what’s funny, when messing around with crafters, I wanted to make an infinite loop of crafting and un crafting blocks. But it worked more like a t-flip flop rather then a mod(10) circuit. So I have to begrudgingly give you the
first on this one. 😓
The combo-lock input panel is a good one, but that Crafty-Counter is some goat level compact.
I’m calling it the CCcounter, but I see that it can be useful for base 10 calculations maybe?
You can make storefronts or slot machines with these, using the "fungible" items like gold and diamond blocks
I'm still like 40% convinced that auto crafters are just an elaborate inside joke that I'm not in on lmao
Since the snapshot droped i managed to make an auto crafter that can craft anything with the least amout of prep possible, just put the items in order, pretty happy with it
When the snapshot released I was intentionally ignoring all the youtubers reviews of it with the idea of "I'll just wait for Crafty's video"
I cant wait for 5 years down the line when redstone contraptions have a million weirdo blocks whose direct purpose isnt inherently for circuts they just have unique ways of generating outputs
i’m not good at making red stone farms but i see this as an absolute win for saving room for iron
The only thing bad about snapshots is the fact of they could completely change how something works entirely
Thats actually really smart and UNDERSTANDABLE! Great job inventing the crafty counter (thats what ima call it)
MumboJumbo is gettin crazy with the crafter
what behavior pack you use or what texture pack you use for the stats on the right side when you open something and what do you use for the number signal strength
Thought you made the everything-crafter for a sec with that title lol, nice job tho
Imagine how fast you can make these with block update delay. If mojang makes the autocrafter able to be powered by Quasiconnectivity, you could potentially make a crafter output every redstone tick.
i like how the minecraft redstone community came back to live when they added crafters, we need more revolutionary things like this
Seeing the counter, im just imagining how much easier it would be to make a "wilson" pet like etho did... thats cool as hell
Everyone knows that the redstone community will explore all uses of a block, even unintended, but sometimes very useful, ones.
You can also add each power of 10, though you'll have to make sure you don't introduce inaccuracy
First the Crafty Crafter Counter then Mumbo Jumbo’s Copper Flopper, this snapshot has so much redstone potential
finally, I can use my auto-chicken-slaughterhouse and wood-farm to auto-craft arrows without asking fletchers.
Now I need an auto-flint-farm...
Can't wait to use the crafty crafter counter. Tiny and base 10? That's my dream
It's cool seeing the overlap between the minecraft and gd communities in crafty's videos
