- Today I bring you 100 things only in Minecraft bedrock edition. 100 features showing differences between java and bedrock. These include; In Bedrock, if multiple mobs are killed by the same charged creeper, all of them drop their heads. In bedrock, chests are a full block but in java they're smaller. Snow has a falling animation on bedrock but on java the snow just breaks...

The shovel recipe for the boat is updated along with the barrel one the boat had the shovel removed and the barrel was mimicking Java where has planks and slabs
Also the seeds on java and bedrock are now the same

Now I see why Hardcore doesn't exist on Bedrock. If they do add it to Bedrock, it'll be harder than hardcore in Java, in relation to stuff like the Wither being 300 hearts in hard mode on Bedrock while remaining the same 150 hearts on Java.
That and bedrock also has random fall damage, you could be running in a straight line normally and suddenly instantly die with the death message "username hit the ground to hard"

i would be more concern about the bugs.
You literally get hurt randomly and you can even die.

I've been playing both versions for years now (Java for basically a decade) and my personal opinion is Bedrock being straight up a better version of the game

5:32 While "Steak" is a better name in isolation, Bedrock calling it "Cooked Beef" actually makes it consistent with the names of the other cooked meats, which I like more.
And where beef has so many different parts it makes more sense
While consistency is often good, I do like this sort of exceptions.
Steak is a certain cut of meat, not just cow, so cooked beef makes more sense; however every food that drops from a cow is the exact same steak cut so it doesn't matter

On Bedrock Edition, Tridents are actually much stronger. The Impaling V enchantment on Java only applies to some aquatic mobs, but on Bedrock the enchantment deals more damage to ANY entity that is touching water/rain.
To put into context how strong an impaling V trident is on bedrock, you can one shot a player with full netherite in the rain

@@zidane9058thats not true, axes are strong in java but overall weapons in java are weaker because you have to wait to do full damage again, and axes in java were buffed, bedrocks axes are the same as all other versions except java.
8:30 Actually while I was playing in the Java version, a black cat had spawned in a village during the full moon, but it ended up despawning because I didn't have any fish to tame.
They removed the ability to craft a cobweb into nine string for "parity" despite the fact they could've just added it to Java edition.

As a long time bedrock player it's weird that Java doesn't have all of these things. I love living in snow biomes in bedrock for that exact reason, when it's snowing, all trees turn white it's so pretty. This was always my favorite feature. I knew about baby squids but BABY DOLPHINS?! Never seen them but now I have to! Always wanted baby dolphins in the game. P.s. about the ability to color clothes in bedrock, you can also get many shades by mixing colors. Like pastels? Add white dye to pink cauldron water and it will make a lighter pink. You can add white dye till it makes white water, but in the process, you will go through many pink shades
Microsoft nerf features in Java because they want bedrock edition to be THE minecraft, this is due to the coding in bedrock making it possible to play Minecraft on cross platforms.
Meaning an xbox/playstation/ipad/Nintendo switch, pc user, can all play together on a server.
I welcome it tbh, Java edition is only nostalgia in name and coding, beyond that it's just limiting for the end user, and it doesn't make Microsoft much money to keep Java active.

As a former bedrock player, I miss a lot of these features, except the boat crafting recipe
Here's something: in Java, the pillagers can eventually use the durability of their crossbows and become no longer hostile. This can't happen in Bedrock, as their crossbows last forever.
They still break in bedrock
I thought baby villagers looked weird in Java. I've only played Bedrock since 2015.
Also, if you load Editions in Bedrock, you can customise superflat worlds to have villages, however this version also has limited world size, so you'll only have villages for the first couple thousand blocks.

@@ZikedY aw dang :(. i don't have a playstation, so the i'm not super knowledgeable on the editions button's intricacies. didn't know it worked like that, but i guess it makes sense. i usually just click on the legacy console icon on the home menu whenever i want to play it

I also found out that rainstorms fill couldrons really fast in bedrock in comparison to Java where they take forever to fill with water

A someone who is currently only able to play Bedrock (on an ipad) some of these things make sense when putting the ipad into consideration.

Okay, bit of a fun fact on the boat paddles, this actually went through a few changes. For one, it used to be crafted with a shovel even on PC, but they eventually dropped that. Secondly, there actually used to only be one paddle visible on the boat, and you had to operate it like you had a single paddle, alternating between left and right to go forward, which they also dropped. And finally, there used to be a rowing animation for the player. Which yes, they also removed.
i always thought i was in java edition, until i tested the piston & sheep one and found out im in bedrock edition. this really helped!
Tbf it's not difficult to tell. Java has its own launcher app, bedrock just launches as soon as you click it's icon

I think they originally added these exclusive features to bedrock to get people to try it out. But that was long ago, they caught up with Java, for the most part. I want them both to be the same.

That's a bait and switch. If someone chooses bedrock over java because of the differences, then slowly taking them out is just not fair. Some changes not every single change in bedrock is worse. Some features should be added to java.

@@danitho I disagree. I think it was fine during the early stages of bedrock because it was lacking(and still does) many crucial features. I remember when it was originally that way on pocket edition, which then merged with windows 10 edition to make bedrock edition. Now bedrock has mostly caught up with Java, so I think it's fine for them to all have the same features now. Add the redstone mechanics on Java to bedrock. Add cauldron features like changing the water color to Java. That's what I mean.

I myself tried it but if you need more convincing check at aJackminecraft chicken farm tutorial (popular one), on the newest comments there are several says their fox can't hold weapons anymore. Also, minecraftwiki doesn't state it for some reason but it is there.

At 6:01 discussing snow, there is a downside to the gravity effect on bedrock edition (which I play). You can sink into snow if it is one solid block or more and you keep sinking until you hit a solid surface, around the same speed or faster than falling through spider web. This also has a damaging Frostbite effect. Wear leather boots to stay above the snow!

#101: It's okay to kill all of the spawnable mobs in an area (like sheep, cows, pigs, etc.) because they can respawn. In Java, you have to preserve them if you need them later. This also means that it's easier to get brown pandas in bamboo forests as you can just clear the area of passive mobs to roll for more.
Which is why on java I never kill passive mobs but breed two and kill one adult for meat, also becauE it just seems depressive when u kill off all passive mobs in your local area
Yeah. This just isn’t true. Passive mobs will always spawn after you’ve killed them off on Java.

12:05 actually bedrock edition has the same number of seeds as Java edition As of some version between 1.17.0 and 1.19.30 I am not sure which update it was blamed it exactly but they did make it so that bedrock has the same number of seeds as in Java edition.

With the latest 1.20.60, they make seeds between Bedrock & Java even more similar by having same structures position, etc. I never noticed that inconsistencies before but now it's even better!
Not being able to catch pufferfish and tropical fish in jungles has definitely changed for Bedrock. I live in a jungle biome on my friend’s world and I’ve caught them both!
The fact that you can't catch puffer fish or tropical fish in the jungle is actually 10x more useful than anything 🤣

It is best to understand that if you're too used to use one edition, stick with it or start with that edition. There's nothing wrong or no wrong edition. Play as you please and have fun

At one point in Bedrock you could have your horse riding in a boat with you, unfortunately they removed this feature not too long ago making traveling a little more tedious.
You can tie them to a leash while you ride a boat, which is tedious if you dont have a leash yet.

The reason I prefer crouching to use the shield over right clicking is the fact that I can still use my items and it will auto block when I stop using items. Also combining Shields with Swift Sneak 3 is Op in Bedrock, but on Java it doesn't really work because you have to right click instead of crouch. And also if I'm crouching near the edge of a high place the shield will be automatically active. So in my opinion Bedrock shields are much better than Java shields, but I'd still like to see L2, LT and Right click for Bedrock.
Plus it's realistic to irl.
You don't hold a shield to your gut and not expect to get headshotted. The way bedrock does it covers your legs and a bit of your head making getting shot at with a bow to the face and living more realistic

As of 1.19.30 a few of these things have changed. (at least on windows ten) boats now no longer need a shovel, the cobweb to string crafting recipe has been removed 😢😢😢 and the barrel recipe has been changed to match java. Also At 14:50 swords with fire aspect can also light tnt which is convenient for nether mining to not have to craft more flint and steel. and also another fun fact in bedrock if you wear a mob head or pumpkin then you become invisible to locator maps.

Fun fact: I've never played Java. Only bedrock. Simply because I've always had either an x box as a kid, or a phone as an adult. I had no idea I was so lucky...thx for the video:)
Impaling enchantment works differently, in Java it deals extra damage to aquatic mobs (Guardians, squids, turtles, dolphins)
In bedrock Impaling deals extra damage to mobs in water or in rain, making it and the trident much more useful.
Most of these are now changed since they fixed it and made both versions have the same features, like the boats, barrels, and I believe seeds are the same now as well
Number 59 was already changed, so that the crafting recipe for Bedrock edition doesn't contain a wooden shovel anymore. 👌
Number 48 with the exp is so annoying when you stand on a mob farm and have to wait for the exp to drop ... 😕

In bedrock,on Mob Vote there's a special server where you can vote for the mob,play minigames,collect coins and buy some items,do some parkour,find "lost mobs" (mobs that lost in previous mob votes) and you also get some stuff you can add to your skin when you vote (like on this mob vote you got penguin hat,armadillo backpack and crab claw)

Pistons can push tile entities in bedrock because they have a thicker skick.
Edit: sugarcane grows very fast for me even without bonemeal.
In java the random tick speed is set to 3 unlike 1 in bedrock , this means all crops and tick able blocks are ticked 3 times faster

When people say one is better than the other, I say this:
Java has better gameplay, but Bedrock has a faster, more efficient engine and programming language behind it.
i find the UI on bedrock easier to understand than javas which makes me instantly pick it over the other. but i barely play java nor do i have a laptop with a working keyboard atm so im probably extremely biased to bedrock. id rather see my coords in the corner than having to remember a combo of buttons to see a bunch of info that covers the screen
My comparison: Java has better servers and mods, Bedrock has better accessibility (diff devices and being able to build out in front of you for eg) and difficulty tweaking (like wither difficulty and ability to find biomes).
@@invadernikku Yeah, the Bedrock UI is definitely better! It also looks nicer too! It has these really cool 3D buttons, that Java does not have.

1. I am a Linux user, so getting Bedrock to work needs some tinkering.
2. Bedrock is very locked down and has micro transactions etc...
3. Hardcore mode.

But I like how we can build our skin on bedrock using parts we get through acheivements and parts we get from free daily calendar style events, so I've never actually spent money (even though it'd advertised quite a bit) but still managed to benefit from the features.

I've heard of someone who got a bug that perma reversed drowning till they relogged.
Made it to where they drown on land but it sees water as air.
Idk how that can even happen cause the code is set in stone.
I don't know where people find these bugs but in my almost 10 years of playing bedrock I don't think I've seen any bug that would affect the experience in any way. I do remember that one bug where you could do some weird stuff with a boat or something that would turn all blocks invisible until you got out of the boat but I haven't seen that in years either. Maybe it's bedrock on pc that has all the bugs and as a ps player I just haven't seen any

A Potion of Decay should probably be brewed with a Wither Skeleton Skull.
The reasons evokers, vindicators, piglins, and piglin brutes appear in Peaceful is because they generate with structures. I just wish it applied to elder guardians too.

I have played Java edition once and that was recently, so I'm not certain if it's the mandela effect or what, but I remember a lot of the things from Java being in the Minecraft Xbox 360 version. The 2D bobber especially. I miss those days...when Minecraft was simple, me and my friends would play on worlds for days before starting over the next big update...

The better together update ruined bedrock. Since its the same game on xbox as on mobile that means everything is bottlenecked by the question of whether or not itll function on mobile so the old xbox version/legacy console versions were abandoned for this newer, worse version all just to allow cross platform multiplayer.

The X360 version was indeed a JavaScript version port with Bedrock GUI, Menus and features. I think it was supposed to be some public prototype...
I remember this because the drops were at one point 2D, and when Java upgraded to the 3D ones, the 360 version followed up with the 3D drops

Did you know, Java edition is coded with "Java" (Of cores) and Bedrock with "C++" so they can't really make it the same for both versions as bedrock is for almost every console but they are adding 1 block crawling to bedrock! so that's a big change
The reason why the enchanted golden apple gives your regen 5 in Bedrock is because of how slow the regeneration is when you eat food. In Bedrock it requires you to have about 8 hunger bars to even recover half a heart, on top of that the duration of food is way worse. This makes hardcore mode on Bedrock actually seem a bit silly since Bedrock is way too hard for its own good. Also I'm going to guess that somehow you can't get multiple flowers like we do in Bedrock over bonemealing it, that's honestly kind of sad, I don't know how you java players get dye in massive quantities. Also the feature where xp orbs spawn as you kill the mobs actually is a downside to Java in one way. When xp orbs drop they can scatter everywhere, just try fishing.
I think there should be a version of minecraft that simply combines (fire)aspects of both versions.
Thing is, if you've ever made a God crossbow on bedrock with harming 2 arrows, they're easier to make
As a Bedrock player recently playing on Java. Shields are better on bedrock because you can attack while holding them up. Java you have to let go of right-click first.
