@@0AThijs yeah crystal pvp is not the same without it. The damage ticks make it so nothing else can damage (or knockback) you for a second so when you just pearl at the ground they can't hit you in the air and crystal you.

*If you are wondering why the End Crystal thing is impossible to replicate in the Overworld or Nether...*
In the new pre-release, End Crystals explode immediately when contacting a fire block (because they ignite), and End Crystals placed in the End automatically place a fire block, igniting the End Crystal.
*Case in point:* In the Overworld or Nether, try placing an End Crystal in such a way that said End Crystal intersects a fire block.
What's probably happening is that they changed something with it, and forgot to give it fire damage immunity- so the fire instantly damages it and makes it explode
so end crystal fights are still viable

This bug happened to me in 1.16 bedrock edition it has been present since at least 1.16 and there is no way to stop the rain at all. Also if you log onto that world on a different client then there will be no rain.
I hated rain so much that i just straight up deleted my world.

fun fact: cats will automatically sit when you leave a server, and stand back up when you return. this mechanic can be used as a sort of wireless redstone controller if the cat is sitting on a chest. in other words, instant remote pearl chamber activation.

4:57 I think that's because the pearl creates a normal portal in the nether, hits the obsidian its frame is made out of and teleports you into the portal block. Because you're entering a portal block that way you get teleported back.

the reason the ender pearl passes through somtimes (from what ive figured out) is because of how ticks work. one tick, the pearl is on one side of the portal, and then the other, on the other side of the portal, because of its speed. this means it was never really "inside" the portal, meaning it doesnt teleport to the nether.

This is a great video, but have you tried placing an end crystal in survival. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with them and behave as intended, but for some reason I feel as if something will happen when you place an end crystal.
I'm assuming it autobreaks, so the strong explosion immediately happens?

3:18 i think it works better if the portal is high up because sometimes it doesn’t fully loud out the ender pearl because it hasnt been coded to be very fast or coded to where it knows your throwing it through a portal and so it stays in the original world and hits something before it can be loaded out but when its activated then its possibly on a timer and would be a good way to trick others by throwing it and they throw theirs as well but yours stays in the over-world for longer and they get sent to the nether
6:10 wait this is actually huge. This was a big help in Bedrock, you can take mobs that you would normally be unable to put a lead on, and you just put a lead on their boat instead! Very cool.
I only play Bedrock and I wasn't aware that this wasn't in Java until now. It's extremely useful, not just for transporting villagers, but also just generally leading multiple boats while boating.
You can also use fishing rods on boats to transport villagers.
Certainly makes the experimental villager features more viable

@n type selector is an amazing detail you just brushed over. I remember when @e was first added in 1.8. I thought it would work in the same way as @p so I accidentally teleported every mob in the world inside my house. Its weird that we didn't get a closest entity selector earlier.
I think the reason the pearl is occasionally not going through is because entities teleport each tick, they don't actually move slowly. The smooth movement is interpolation. One tick the pearl is on one side of the portal and in the next next it is on the other side. Pearls usually check for to make sure they aren't block skipping, but ignore non-collide blocks. The portal is one such block.
That would explain why it only happens in certain angles
I guess the interpolation explains why Enderman teleportation looks the way it does.

Seems like an easy enough fix then, add an extra collision step for non-collides.

For the enderpearl chamber on servers you can have it in loaded chunks, and detect when player leaves and then rejoins server within 5 seconds using a dog/cat. This allows you to trigger it on demand, as long as you dont rejoin too quickly normally

The reason why the pearl phases through the portal sometimes might be because it never touches the portal at any in game tick. One tick its just before the portal and the next tick its position is just beyond the portal.
Same reason why the pearl teleported you twice when thrown at a steep angle. As soon as it crosses the portal it stays in the portal frame for another tick on the other side, teleporting you back.
I hope mojang makes it a gamerule. "/gamerule set endCrystalsJustKillYouNow true"

Idea that I definitely did not steal: make a TNT cannon that throws the TNT through a nether portal, travels through the nether and then goes through another nether portal, multiplying the cannons range by 8 times

The rain when weather says clear thing is a visual glitch, ive seen it a few times, it’s pretty easy to fix. Just do /weather rain or /weather thunder (if its just normal rain then setting it to thunder seems to work better) and then do /weather clear and the rain will go away. It’s like the game tried to stop the rain but it got confused or something and the rain didn’t fully stop, so doing that will set it right. Once this glitch happened while i was playing survival, and it looked like it was raining but i saw an enderman that wasn’t being hurt by the “rain”, it was pretty funny.
the rain is intentional as it's accurate weather in the UK and Brandon is from the UK. He's giving us all a glimpse of the shear greyness of the skies :)

It also happens with the sky. Weather would be clear but the sky is gray. Makes for a cool effect but gets quite annoying quickly

2:05 this isn’t a snapshot bug, it’s been around for a while. When the projectiles velocity is calculated each tick, the game will move the projectile forward by the velocity each tick. Since it isn’t smoothly moving forward but rather teleporting along each tick, sometimes it might teleport between something. Mojang has fixed this for blocks with solid collision (so you can’t shoot arrows through iron bars) but for blocks like the nether portal, the projectile still might pass through without hitting the actual block. It’s an extremely old bug, but as of this new enderpearl change, I bet they are gonna fix it in prerelease 2.
It’s not even a Minecraft specific thing, it’s just a phenomenon with video games in general (assuming they don’t have extra code to counteract it)

Set up a long clock with the ender pearl stasis chamber and you can just give yourself an automatic teleport back home after an arbitrary amount of time. You could plan for lengthy expeditions.

4:30 there are also options to use this without a timer. You can use cats to determine if a specific player is currently online and with that you can log out and in for teleportation. If you combine this with an Quantum Signal device (spitting out 4 items at the same time and see if the animation changes, quite complicated to explain), you can basicly teleport to station across your minecraft world. Only disadvantage is that you need to force load these stations, otherwise it won't work...
You can throw a pearl into the nether, then that pearl will go through another portal and since the ratio of the overworld and nether, you will have instant teleportation for farther lengths. Also can be used for secret bases or something

idea: you can make seamless mass-distance teleporting if you can somehow throw an enderpearl through a nether portal and lead it to another nether portal which drops the pearl in the overworld in a different location.

5:29 you could technically already make mixed double doors in earier versions. The difference is that now the double door is forced. (for those who don't know, you can control the direction of a door by clicking on the right or left side of the top of a block)

When the portal is big and the nether hasn't been loaded, the size of the portal and the position of the pearl in the portal as it goes through with the steep angle only possible in the large portal, the pearl basically rounds a shit ton so it can fit through the portal it will generate and maintains its speed, velocity, and angle through the portal, meaning it hits a block that has a portal basically 100% of the time depending on the angle of the throw and what blocks it should hit
Hardcore snapshot survival. Now that's a challenge

I think you can connect a ender portal cannon to the nether portal, throw a portal into the nether potal, the ender portal cannon shoots the ender portal into another nether portal and you end up traveling 4x (or something i forgot) distance with the same ender portal cannon.

The whole riding things into portals and ender pearling through portals is just loads of my childhood disappointments becoming real and actually working. But actually I can’t wait to see people make slime block launching systems and stuff like that to so you can use nether travel without ever leaving the overworld. You could even use Minecarts going through nether portals or something to actually have interdimensional redstone lines, so you could - all in the overworld - select where you want to go, throw a pearl into a portal, and be teleported there in a few seconds. And on the nether side it’s just a network of slime block launchers leading to portals, each with a portal next to it receiving a hopper Minecart or something from the overworld to determine which portal the pearl goes to
