Stratocaster893 Math joke with a bit of truth :) Fibonacci appears quite a lot in nature; ties together rabbits, bees, and sea shells, and I suppose guitar collectors as well, ha ha.
It's not about what guitar you own, what brand it is or how much it costs, it's about how you feel about playing guitar and the love for the instrument. A lot of rich mummy and daddy's boys have nice expensive guitars and can't even play them.
I have the same guitar, Bemont, and I LOVE IT! I have more expensive guitars but I love the Squier. In fact I love it so much I own TWO... one HSS and one SSS PUP setups. Believe me... you are playing a pretty darn good axe that didn't break the bank. Rock on! Or jazz on...or country on. :-)
Hmm some guy with a youtube channel named Rob Chapman own a lot of these Chapman guitars, he even got a prototype somehow... weird!.... just bustin' your chops Barlow lol.. welcome to all things chappers.. check him out on Dorje and andertons music as well.
I've had the same thing happen with the top string getting caught under the neck itself, but not the pickups, I never have my pickups that close to the strings.
I would just put covers on the pickups. Some say they change tone of the pickups a little bit, but I believe that's a much more elegant solution than wrapping layers upon layers of tape on the pickups. Any slight resulting change in tone could be corrected by EQ.
+Complexshadows more like people bond in different ways, I love my guitars from birth to death but I've never even thought to give them names. But some do end up bonding more than others.
And you're a little bit judgemental. Who cares if someone does or doesn't. Plus it's actually psychologically documented that humans often name things that we care about, it gives us a sense of ownership, control and comfort with the object. Plus some people simply enjoy it. Also, you're logic is self destructive, I mean why name anything? Why not call the dog "dog", why not call the baby "baby". The reason we name people is the same reason we name objects, identification! If I ask my partner to pass me my Ibanez s420 or Esp Ltd F-250 she would just look at me confused. If I asked her to pass me Morgana or Lucy though, she knows exactly which one I'm asking for.
I did that. But I named my main 4 after my future children and one after my girlfriend. So I got: Emma, Luna, Abigail and Jax. For me it feels like I can personally put more emotional value in the instruments.
For me a want list of five guitars are, 1) HSS strat with reverse headstock 2) LP semi hollow with no holes 3) Dusenburg single coil 4) PRS 24 fret with a Floyd rose (if they do that) 5) Fender Jag, johnny marr one probably
I need a Fender Elite Strat, HH Jazzmaster, LP Studio or Standard, Red Explorer, and an Eclipse with a Floyd. Right now I just have a Mexi SSS Strat and a cheap RG.
I name my guitars too, I have three Stratocasters, the Red one is called Red Bast*rd, the White one is called White Basta*rd and my David Gilmour Relic is black, so... you get the idea.
the sneaky creeping death riff, i can dig it! but Chappers, can you please do a review on James Hetfields new signature V, the Esp/Ltd Vulture? I would love to see you and the captain jam on that monster!
Rob is so hilariously full of shit sometimes. Like when he said he's not a metal player with a straight face to an audience of millions who know he literally plays in a metal band.
I love these guitar collection videos! There aren't enough them for me. I've been inspired to enshrine my own guitar collection with videos on my channel as well! Keep up the good work!
Hey Rob, I was roaming the inter-webs and I happened to find your old TH-cam account and I must say even then more than 7 years ago you were still amazingly good! I think people underestimate your skill too much, you're truly an amazing musician!
I don't think many people underestimate his skill at all. In fact a lot of his fan boys over-hype his skill. He is very good and much better than me, but commonly repeats the same 5 licks in every video.
But that's what creat a signature sound and makes him recognise able but jeha look at rabea or so jeha there are a lot of better players out there but there always better players out there...even better players than malmsteen...and sometimes there only better in another way...
I thought the same but the other day I recorded an ep with a 2010 Fender Blacktop Jag which is the only guitar I thought I needed but then, I played '98 Gibson Les Paul Classic and my God did GAS hit hard. Some guitars make you approach writing differently or you want to mix up your tunings. Single coils vs humbuckers or purely, because you just want to have the guitar. Lots of reasons why people have loads of guitars but play one genre.
Stay Tuned I respect this but I don't know if I completely agree with you. I think that a guitar should bring with her the historical relevance she has. I mean, I would never play blues on a Ltd Hammett model, not because the guitar can't, just because she can't inspires me to play that. I don't know, probably is something related to a cultural vision of the music in general, but I will feel a little bit uncomfortable to play a genre like jazz on a guitar that is a shred machine. Anyway, music is so expressive and subjective, and it's fine. Ps I don't know if you understood anything, English isn't my first language and I wrote down a couple of raws quickly
RicardoDiazHimself you're right probably, but is something out of me. I just cannot feel the will of playing a genre on a guitar that is completely out of that. I love vintage guitars. You know, 60s and 70s vintage strat. I cannot play metal on that, i can't, I'm not inspired. I won't judge who can, absolutely fine with it.
Honestly I'd be surprised if there wasn't one (disclaimer: I've already watched the vid). If he couldn't make one of his own custom designed guitars good enough to be in a top 10 then it would be a pretty bad indictment of both the company's quality and his own design talent. Of course he could just be lying and put some Chapmans in there for advertising purposes only, but from what I heard they held up well enough.
As the owner of a Gibson Flying V, a Gibson Les Paul, a Fender Tele, and two Fender Strats, I can honestly say (for whatever reason LOL) those guitars are NOT accurately represented here.......
Yep. Once you get above 5-7, you're at a point where you're acquiring guitars for the smallest nuances. So there really isn't much difference between 10 and 20
It makes me cringe to see a bunch of nice guitars lying on top of each other all over this dudes sofa, might be my OCD kicking in, but I wouldn't even do that with my cheapest guitars, let alone my best! Still love your demos though Rob Chapman.
+Sean S Wow... You better never try to become a proffesional guitar player then, because every guitar techniician and roadie treats guitars just like that... And, usually, guitars stay fine xDxD
Afford a decent roadie..?? It doesn´t work like that... Are you even in the music bussiness, dude..?? xDxD Ive seen the techs from Motorhead and Sodom doing this kind of stuff in festivals, and with some guitars that are actually pretty old... And guess what, they´re fine xDxD If you could see some of the hits my SG has taken, you would cry... But I still use it live, with no problems. The finish of a guitar is going to go, if you do gigs, it doesn´t really matter how you treat them... Because of the transport, the swet, the use...
I really love that Rob focuses on the flaws even his favorite guitars have! I have 6 guitars and a few I've always felt sad aren't perfect (specially some of the more expensive ones), but I honestly feel a lot better about that now, kinda seeing that the flaws still make them that much more special

My top 10 guitars: - Schecter Hellraiser C-1. It's a f*cking Schecter Hellraiser. 'Nuff said. - ESP-m10. Bought for $90. Great for anyone who likes Kirk Hammett but is too cheap to buy an actual Kirk Hammett guitar. Just paint the Ouija board on it and use plenty of wah and no one will notice, right? ;) - Oh wait... I only have two guitars...
Schecter hellraisers are underrated. I have the c1, c7, and solo 6 hellraiser and they are all absolutely killer. I buy multiple cheaper guitars instead of 1-2 expensive ones for variety. Schecter is always my go to brand.
My Top 3: 3. Squier Stratocaster (Dubbed "Rebecca", it may be my first electric, but has pretty poor sustain now) 2. Spectrum Acoustic (First guitar I ever owned) 1. Epiphone Les Paul (Dubbed "Jessie", this has an amazingly gritty tone, just how I like it) These are the only 3 I own right know
Dude I don't see a problem with owning a lot of guitars, you have put your blood, sweat, and tears into guitars and even building your own brand, I got respect for that. You have a right to buy guitars as you please and as you can, don't think of any of it as gloating it's not I'm glad you put this up I'd love to see all your guitars honestly.
You know something ( well actually a couple things ) I have been watching you and Lee since I picked up guitar. I'm not sure how long the honeymoon phase takes place for a guitar player but ultimately I think the goal of a honeymoon phase should never end. I haven't been playing for very long, and I am by no means quite "good" yet in my opinion (which I have realized is a personal criticism of many guitarists), but just watching you two progress as musicians helps me out quite a bit. As an example, your vibrato has improved tremendously since this video. I know this is an old video, and now that you're all youtube famous and whatnot you might not even have the time to look at comments on a damn near 2 year old video, I wanted to thank you. Seeing someone with far more experience than you progress helps so much with my own mindset of "learn something new." I haven't heard many people talk about the subject of watching people that inspire things out of your own fingers talk about the progression of their inspirees (?). So once again thank you for sticking with youtube and allowing people to have that experience.
Interesting watching this, I enjoyed it so much I decided to review my top 10 guitars I'm fortunate enough to own here goes... 10.Hamer Artist Ser No. 856169. Beautiful hand build quality, sounds every bit as good as an exceptional Les Paul. 9. Eric Clapton Custom Shop Stratocaster in Mercedes Blue made by John English, Ser No. CN98532 All John English built guitars are brilliant and the mid range boost on this works a treat 8. PRS Hollow Body 2 '10' Top. Low weight, easy to play with very versatile tones using the 3 pickup system. It really can sound like an acoustic and the build quality is fantastic. 7. Custom Shop '50's Telecaster Ser No. R3727 by John English and made from 'more than 100 year old pine' for the 2004 Namm Show. Very different tone with the pine body and great vintage feel and sound 6. 1965 Stratocaster. All original pre-CBS Ser No. L96958. Beaten up and an absolute delightful action and vintage sound 5. 2003 Gibson '59 Les Paul 'Stinger'from Music Machine. Ser No. 9 3658 MM 59 29. A real classic in every sense. Sounds big and feels expensive! 4. Custom Shop '51Telecaster John English built 'Nocaster' Ser No. R4385. A dream sound from a beautifully simple guitar. There's something really cool about the black pickguard and the Fender decal on the headstock, what a presence 3. 2000 Gibson SG Custom 'Les Paul' Ser No. 001892. I've never enjoyed playing SG's until I met this absolute beauty. Massive sound and plays like butter. I can see why so many heavy rock artists used them, they are killer when set up correctly 2. 2014 Pensa Custom MK2. 'F' Hole and quilt top. Lovely to play and special for me because I met Rudy Pensa at his store in New York and fell in love with his business. I own three Pensa's, but this is the fist custom built guitar made entirely to my personal specifications, so very special 1. PRS Periscope 2 as seen on TH-cam with Paul R Smith selecting the woods by vote on the internet and then producing an amazing single piece flame top guitar. The new PRS 85/15 pickups sound amazing and the fabulous build quality all private stock guitars enjoy make this monster ooze quality. I have four Private Stock Guitars. All are wonderful, but this is particularly special. Check out the video to see it from start to build finish. If you ever get to read this Rob, I am now interested in adding a 2017 Chapman guitar to my collection. After reading what I like from the above, which one should I buy??
Landslide Nah, it’s just a sub genre which is comprised of the lowest strings possibly played to make a sound that goes “duh-jent,” it has become a joke, but is now dead.
Well that was fairly amazing ... I didn't expect a couple of those to make an appearance but that just goes to show how different people are to what you expect. Nice video, very interesting.
You need a nice Gibson, a nice Fender, a nice acoustic, and then something a little different like a semi-hollow Rickenbacker. Four guitars, that's all you ever need. 😜
heard of Ibanez? Schecter? Yamaha? PRS? Jackson? Everyone plays differently, so some people won't want to play electric, or some won't play acoustic. Some people won't get the same feeling when they play one guitar, and get another. You don't NEED 4 guitars. All you need is one to learn, but to enjoy and master you can have as many as you want. :D
just four? but the strat sounds different than the tele. the les paul sounds different than the sg. the martin acoustic sounds different than the taylor. you need as many guitars as you want. I won't be done collecting until I have one of each.
That's what YOU need. Me I have a beater acoustic, a Jackson pro series soloist, and a 98 Jap custom shop ESP Horizon.... and that is all I need. Cheers!
The shred he started at 13:13 reminds me a lot to the solo of Psychosocial, and what's even more interesting is that Mick Thomson on the solo is playing a telecaster!
From across the pond, and this sounds odd, but I truly love you guys. Great channel, great info and the best part is it just makes my day to watch and listen. Wish you guys the best!
I only own one guitar at the moment, the other ones were sold to pay for lawyers (bunch of ball washing bastards) and that happens to be a Chapman ML3 (blue with maple neck) and I have modded the shit out of it. It now has a Sustainiac with a Hot Rails powering it. Scalloped neck, locking tuners and a momentary kill switch. It is a full on Death Machine now.
+Austin Moser if your into pointy metal guitars now that will probably change a few years down the road. At my 15th year of playing I somehow fell in love with fenders, got rid of all the "metal" guitars. Fender can do it all!
That descending run at 28:09 was something I've not heard before by anybody. Interesting how your playing just lit up on that semi LP. What a glorious sounding thing it is.
awesome collection man. loved the les paul. great skills as well. i alredy subscribed to your channel, and i´ll be checking you out. greetings from Mexico.

I tried to laugh but I couldn't
it's just a cheesy joke
Stratocaster893
Math joke with a bit of truth :) Fibonacci appears quite a lot in nature; ties together rabbits, bees, and sea shells, and I suppose guitar collectors as well, ha ha.
Rob’s impulse purchase: a vintage Gibson V.
My impulse purchase: a new pack of Jazz 3s.
hey man thats cool, here's my top of guitars that I own: 1-Squier Stratocaster...... and thats all for now :(
Bemont But do you love that guitar?
It's not about what guitar you own, what brand it is or how much it costs, it's about how you feel about playing guitar and the love for the instrument. A lot of rich mummy and daddy's boys have nice expensive guitars and can't even play them.
If it makes the music you want to play the way you want it to then you sir have the greatest guitar (for you) ever made!
Yeah my fav guitar to play is the squire strat (I have a 94) all the pickups are crap except for the neck, it's the warmest thing I've ever played
"if you give me an electric guitar, the song is going to come out shred"
-Rob Chapman
Give this dum fucker a million guitars and they'd all sound the same.
Rock on Rob!
very true. I feel the same value of acoustic guitars when writing songs.
And I wonder if he will ever develop an ear for MUSIC. No offense intended.
That blue chapman ML3 is absolutely gorgeous. I have never been a fan of that shape, but that's simply beautiful. I need one.
hatingtherich That one got guitar off the year award
Tbh looking for a high gain 80s metal tone for like maybe 800 to 1k usd if theres any reccomendations
most of my top 10 guitars are in my imagination
9 of them
chavruta2000 I
Same
This guy has alot of these Chapman guitars. Is he an endorsee or something?
he owns Chapman guitars
Lol
Hmm some guy with a youtube channel named Rob Chapman own a lot of these Chapman guitars, he even got a prototype somehow... weird!.... just bustin' your chops Barlow lol.. welcome to all things chappers.. check him out on Dorje and andertons music as well.
So he found this new site
woosh
>Minor negatives on a cheap guitar: "Guitar is shit"
>Minor negatives on an expensive guitar: "Part of the magic"
Other people: I turn red when I run a lot
Rob: I turn red when I play guitar

-Rob Chapman
Cool to hear you play the old Andertons/Chapman intro theme on the strat!
He plays it a lot and it's been on one of his old solo albums
It comes from a time when he didn't even say "Greetings"
Always great to hear Bleed the Light
Send us all your money.
2:39 OMG I had no idea about this. Finally, the mystery of why Steve Vai has pieces of tape over the edges of his pickups has been answered.
Dimebag did the same thing. I had no clue why either until I watched an interview with his tech Grady... apparently it's a common problem.
Kostas1601 I went to a concert of his last week and didn't even notice.
Kostas1601 lol I had that lightbulb go off in my head as well.
I wish I had enough guitars to do a top 10 list...
Don't we all...
I can only do top 1 :/
I can only do a top 2 ,I own a 2007 Epiphone Les Paul Junior and, a Cheap Monterey MGS-12
+Ikhsan Hasbi same
I can't even do a top 1
" I like simplicity....." *sits down on giant sloppy pile of every style of guitar, plays a million extraneous notes*
andtothewestamerica simplicity in his set up not his playing
Flailing wildly
I like how you can see rob grinding his teeth when he’s concentrating, can tell he’s putting his all into it
I always thought that giving guitars names and calling them "she" was a little bit weird
Some people bond with their guitars more than others
+Complexshadows more like people bond in different ways, I love my guitars from birth to death but I've never even thought to give them names. But some do end up bonding more than others.

If I ask my partner to pass me my Ibanez s420 or Esp Ltd F-250 she would just look at me confused. If I asked her to pass me Morgana or Lucy though, she knows exactly which one I'm asking for.
People also do it with cars. It's weird, I don't know if people start doing it for the fun or if it's instinctive.
I did that. But I named my main 4 after my future children and one after my girlfriend. So I got: Emma, Luna, Abigail and Jax. For me it feels like I can personally put more emotional value in the instruments.
I definitely want 5
1. A good Strat
2. A good Tele
3. A PRS Custom 22/24
4. A Gretsch
5. Martin D-15M
Runner up to:
6. Duesenberg
7. An HSS Strat
something with a floyd?
+Thom Bakker I don't really play anything which would warrant that. I'm a "bigsby at the most" kind of guy. Lol
For me a want list of five guitars are,
1) HSS strat with reverse headstock
2) LP semi hollow with no holes
3) Dusenburg single coil
4) PRS 24 fret with a Floyd rose (if they do that)
5) Fender Jag, johnny marr one probably
Buy the posters instead. It's cheaper and won't ruin the relationship with your boyfriend.
I need a Fender Elite Strat, HH Jazzmaster, LP Studio or Standard, Red Explorer, and an Eclipse with a Floyd. Right now I just have a Mexi SSS Strat and a cheap RG.
He who dies with the most guitars, wins! lol
Great video, but seeing the guitars on top of each other on the sofa makes me feel uncomfortable!
I name my guitars too, I have three Stratocasters, the Red one is called Red Bast*rd, the White one is called White Basta*rd and my David Gilmour Relic is black, so... you get the idea.
Apologies for this emperor's new clothes moment but anyone else think Chappers manages to make them all sound the same - apart from the Tele?
Could you do a top 10 pedals video? That would be interesting
Or amps, either would make a great vid
Could you do a top ten shoes video?
Maybe I can do my top 10 picks I use. I might have just enough for the list.
Do you have any Tone City pedals on your board?
the sneaky creeping death riff, i can dig it! but Chappers, can you please do a review on James Hetfields new signature V, the Esp/Ltd Vulture? I would love to see you and the captain jam on that monster!
lol I caught that too
For a split second I thought it was Tenacious D - The Metal ... my bad. Although, that's not so bad.
I like how he ended it with a major chord. Such a jarring moment, but with a major chord it has to be happy.
Rob: "This guitar isnt't really a shreder" (talking abou Georgia). 2 minutes later, shreds on it.
Shredded Tit.
What has that to do with annything..?? You can shred in a not shreder´s guitar, is just a little bit unconfortable :S:S
Rob is so hilariously full of shit sometimes. Like when he said he's not a metal player with a straight face to an audience of millions who know he literally plays in a metal band.
Alfalfa Male Lol I remember that. He said he was more of a bluesy player
Just to demonstrate what it would sound like. Notice he mostly played blues-rock licks and riffs.

+MORE BEER we've all got those licks we play over and over
The Midnight Blues Yes. But the BEST players have lots and lots of licks, and can utilise the best one in every situation.
Nice guitars but you are using so much gain that they all sound alike
They definitely do not all sound the same haha.
Yeah, it's just the crappy camera microphone...
He's also using the camera mic instead of his proper recording mics. If he had those hooked up you'd hear the difference big time.
isn't this obvious? What he is saying is because of gain+crappy youtube compression+crappy camera mic, this video is pointless
Manuel Vásquez it's not pointless tho is it? It's chapman going through the 10 favourite guitars in his collection
"Very old model, way back in 2003 or 04'."
lol
Stix Zadiyna
I think 2003 is my newest guitar.
that is actually about 15 years
Stix Zadiyna sweet, I'm really lld then
Reth 0 Awesome
you know every few weeks or months I listen to this video again it's like visiting an old friend for me.
Your hair looks better here than with dreads.
Why you need 10 so different guitars when you play them in the same way?
I thought the same but the other day I recorded an ep with a 2010 Fender Blacktop Jag which is the only guitar I thought I needed but then, I played '98 Gibson Les Paul Classic and my God did GAS hit hard. Some guitars make you approach writing differently or you want to mix up your tunings. Single coils vs humbuckers or purely, because you just want to have the guitar. Saverio: You are limiting yourself really, mate. If you feel that way, then those guitars are playing you, instead of you playing them!
Though the music-style is the same, you do get individual inspiration from each guitar. (At least I do)
It's quite simple really. Every guitar player needs:
Martin D-18 or D-28
Gibson J-200
Guild 12 string (acoustic)
Gibson Les Paul
Fender Stratocaster
Fender Telecaster
Danalectro 59
Rickenbacker 360 12 string
Gretsch semi hollow
PRS SE
You could probably do it all on one Fender Strat tbh.
Hey don't worry about naming the Chapman guitar. It already has your name on it!
It's a Crapman.
I'm glad there are people like you in the world Rob Chapman. Keep on rockin' in the free world!!!
Rob, you're actually the reason why I purchased my PRS. I watched your review from way back every day when I was in high school!
Does one of them happen to be a chapman?
how did you guess?
Wait... are you god? because there is no way you knew that
Honestly I'd be surprised if there wasn't one (disclaimer: I've already watched the vid).
If he couldn't make one of his own custom designed guitars good enough to be in a top 10 then it would be a pretty bad indictment of both the company's quality and his own design talent.

That's right you got a better collection then his crap heaps lmfao
The correct formula for the amount of guitars you need is N + 1. where N is the number of guitars you currently own.
Ami the only one cringing seeing all the guitars piled one on top of another?
You shouldnt watch the video of Yngwie Malmsteens collection then
Sergey Pupko im cringing at the stuff going on in front of them
Nah fuck it they’re fine
28:50 lol
I could listen to you play for hours love your guitars and your playing love that blue finish killer!!
19:45 you started to play one of my favorite songs!! BLEED THE LIGHT!!! Awesome video
10, 20 what's the difference
at that point you're actually quite right haha
Yep. Once you get above 5-7, you're at a point where you're acquiring guitars for the smallest nuances. So there really isn't much difference between 10 and 20
10
big difference if youve got stuff like coral sitar guitars, gittlers, warr guitars, a roland g-707 ect. not so much if you've got 7 custom shop strats
famitory I am more of a "have one of every type" guy
It makes me cringe to see a bunch of nice guitars lying on top of each other all over this dudes sofa, might be my OCD kicking in, but I wouldn't even do that with my cheapest guitars, let alone my best! Still love your demos though Rob Chapman.
Look out, it's the grammar police! Thanx too dis handi edut buddun, yule nevur katch mee! LOL! Oink Oink.
Sean, stop.
It doesn't hurt them when they laying like that , just have to be careful picking them up , that's all
+Sean S Wow...
"For me it's the Jimi vibe on a flying v"
*Plays pinch harmonic non-sense shred and Metallica*
i was thinking exactly the same!
Didn't he also say he couldn't play like jimi
yeah but he did say that the jimi vibe was the reason he bought the guitar. you'd have thought he'd be rocking out some jimi-esque licks
When I play different guitars I tend to play different stuff on them....This guy plays the same stuff on every guitar haha
Exactly. He has them all set to sound the same! "Stuff" is being very polite..................
I really love that Rob focuses on the flaws even his favorite guitars have! I have 6 guitars and a few I've always felt sad aren't perfect (specially some of the more expensive ones), but I honestly feel a lot better about that now, kinda seeing that the flaws still make them that much more special
0:58 gibson flying v
5:42 faith acoustic guitar
9:08 chapman hotrod
11:06 American fender telecaster
13:51 chapman ML3 traditional
16:19 PRS custom 24 special
18:45 fender post modern journey man custom shop strat
20:27 Chapman ML1 cap 10 American
22:30 Gibson les paul custom shop hollow body
29:09 ghost fret
That hollow body les Paul had some nice SRV tones to it
I'm a bit confused why your own signature guitar is not in your own top 10 ?!
Because he doesn't like it that much. I don't think that's much of a secret from how seldomly he uses it anymore.
+Matt Snyder which is his signature guitar? ghost fret?
It is...
Nah, Chapman ML3-RC
Rob Chapman
I thought yours was the one with the twin seymour duncan (single coil sized) humbucker pickups in it?
Chapman ML-3. 'most beautiful finishes of all the guitars I own.' Grabs a burst PRS custom 24 next. XD !!
your a great guitar player for sure. love all your videos. I'm a les paul man myself have been for 41 years
I always love the disgusted expressions we make when after creating gnarly tones. The look of “Oh God, what have we unearthed with this device?!”
My top 10 guitars:
- Schecter Hellraiser C-1. It's a f*cking Schecter Hellraiser. 'Nuff said.
- ESP-m10. Bought for $90. Great for anyone who likes Kirk Hammett but is too cheap to buy an actual Kirk Hammett guitar. Just paint the Ouija board on it and use plenty of wah and no one will notice, right? ;)
- Oh wait... I only have two guitars...
Schecter hellraisers are underrated. I have the c1, c7, and solo 6 hellraiser and they are all absolutely killer. I buy multiple cheaper guitars instead of 1-2 expensive ones for variety. Schecter is always my go to brand.
My Top 3:
3. Squier Stratocaster (Dubbed "Rebecca", it may be my first electric, but has pretty poor sustain now)
2. Spectrum Acoustic (First guitar I ever owned)
1. Epiphone Les Paul (Dubbed "Jessie", this has an amazingly gritty tone, just how I like it)
These are the only 3 I own right know
"now this... THIS guitar has an amazing clean tone... now lets promptly turn up the gain and get rid of it"
Dude I don't see a problem with owning a lot of guitars, you have put your blood, sweat, and tears into guitars and even building your own brand, I got respect for that.
What do you think of Godin guitars from Canada. Can you review a few of them with the Captain please?
they dont sell Godin
I played one (unplugged) and it was pure joy
I'd love to hear Adam Jones play that Les Paul.
"You don't need anymore than 10 guitars in your life".... my wife can never see this video...
I just fall in love with the guitar at 8:40 . Beauty of simplicity.
A tremendously pleasurable chunker, one I've gotten very fond of.
CN98532 All John English built guitars are brilliant and the mid range boost on this works a treat
Very different tone with the pine body and great vintage feel and sound
6. 1965 Stratocaster. All original pre-CBS Ser No. L96958. Beaten up and an absolute delightful action and vintage sound
5. 2003 Gibson '59 Les Paul 'Stinger'from Music Machine. Ser No. 9 3658 MM 59 29. A real classic in every sense. Sounds big and feels expensive!
4. Custom Shop '51Telecaster John English built 'Nocaster' Ser No. R4385. A dream sound from a beautifully simple guitar. There's something really cool about the black pickguard and the Fender decal on the headstock, what a presence
3. 2000 Gibson SG Custom 'Les Paul' Ser No. 001892. I've never enjoyed playing SG's until I met this absolute beauty. Massive sound and plays like butter. I can see why so many heavy rock artists used them, they are killer when set up correctly
2. 2014 Pensa Custom MK2. 'F' Hole and quilt top. Lovely to play and special for me because I met Rudy Pensa at his store in New York and fell in love with his business. I own three Pensa's, but this is the fist custom built guitar made entirely to my personal specifications, so very special
After reading what I like from the above, which one should I buy??
ml1 modern
Alexandre Antunes cool. I'm back in the UK next month and will pay a visit to Anderson's and give it a try...
Robert Knight I haven't personally tried one but you should try a chapman ml2 pro
Personally I like the Ghost fret pro the best. I tried the different models when he visited Portland, OR
Robert Knight: I hope you actually gig, and these guitars aren't hanging on a wall. Otherwise these guitars are wasted.
_Sombody_ needs some guitar practice!!! Oh wait, that's me. Carry on, cheers...
They're good, but do they djent
Landslide
Get cultured.
Landslide Djent definition Duh Duh Duh jent Duh Duc Jent jent
S30V Get fucked.
Landslide Nah, it’s just a sub genre which is comprised of the lowest strings possibly played to make a sound that goes “duh-jent,” it has become a joke, but is now dead.
Love that tune......Think of the videos you and the Captain make....Awesome Work!!!
Well that was fairly amazing ... I didn't expect a couple of those to make an appearance but that just goes to show how different people are to what you expect. Nice video, very interesting.
wow only 5 Chapman guitars if he likes cheap Korean guitars so much there are so many other brands to try made in the same factory too.
Fuck Gibson and Fender.
Overpriced bullshit.
That's what YOU need. Me I have a beater acoustic, a Jackson pro series soloist, and a 98 Jap custom shop ESP Horizon.... and that is all I need. Cheers!
IF the Telecaster is named 'Betty' then maybe the ML3 should be 'Wilma' (Flintstone).
I love seeing how happy you look your videos
I love how different the Les Paul sounds to everything else! They all sound great.
More plugs than a bath store
More plugs than a TH-cam unboxing video
more plugs than a college house party
More plugs then a fetish bar..
more plugs than fuck off.
All hail Lord Chappers. My goodness that tele sounded fabulous.
Allan Gildea Truly amazing.
Drinking game: take a shot every time rob plays the open e chord
The shred he started at 13:13 reminds me a lot to the solo of Psychosocial, and what's even more interesting is that Mick Thomson on the solo is playing a telecaster!
From across the pond, and this sounds odd, but I truly love you guys. Great channel, great info and the best part is it just makes my day to watch and listen. Wish you guys the best!
Do you still own the original green Ghost Fret?
It was sold, I think. Or went back to the luthier.
Sold to a lovely gentleman on the Chapman Forums.
+Ryan Hitchman HOW do you KNOW he was lovely ?
+Bad Tranny maybe he bought it
I'm a member of the forums and he is a nice guy
man, u may think i'm kidding, but that g chord on 17:04 sounded fucking amazing lol
I really like the telecaster.
nice to see your favorites, I guess it may change over time? love the flying v at the start!
You always kinda remind me that in the end I play for fun and not to gain money or fame. Great guy, great video.
Why you don't sell the Hot Rod anymore?
It was so freaking nice!!!
Top 10 I don't even have ten guitars
I don't even have two
😅
ameer mahdi same 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 life is cruel
Id kill just to have 3 guitars lol
That's a bit extreme. Are you a serial killer?
+terrypussypower on certain occasions... Where I can acquire 3 guitars by killing
adrian garcia Steal 4 and give me one!
I currently have 13 guitars I'd hate to part with any but I should move a couple along LOL.I like the red flying V !
I have 2 first acts and an acoustic guitar. I wanna get a Squier 60's classic vibe statocaster.
your so amazing at guitar , its effortless!!!!
Big fan of that Cap10, Rob. Have been since you first showed it off. Really well done
legend when is the epiphone relic video coming x
Thank you for using the word "penultimate" correctly. :)
The jealousy is strong in the comment section
Didn't notice any jealousy.
@@melvynobrien6193 lol
28:10-28:13 is the coolest thing I've ever heard you play. Would love to get a lesson on what you're doing there
clarity is the subject of the first guitar. so clear the intonation chords and single note
do you know what I think when I see a Gibson v? Albert king!
Am I the only person that doesn't like telecasters or similar guitars?
I don't like telecasters and I'm not big on strata either, nothing against fender just don't dig the look or the sound
+Austin Moser strats*
+Austin Moser if your into pointy metal guitars now that will probably change a few years down the road. At my 15th year of playing I somehow fell in love with fenders, got rid of all the "metal" guitars. Fender can do it all!
+Austin Moser +Andrew Chapman
You two are a rare breed
+Nyan cat I know
That descending run at 28:09 was something I've not heard before by anybody. Interesting how your playing just lit up on that semi LP. What a glorious sounding thing it is.
Lee Hamer listen to the outro of Time by Joe Satriani....its descending octaves 👍
this dude is worth over 30 million........ just can't wrap my head around that...he is so humble
haha 30mil? where did you get THAT number??
awesome collection man. loved the les paul. great skills as well. i alredy subscribed to your channel, and i´ll be checking you out. greetings from Mexico.
High Gain on a Telecaster doesn‘t make sense to me..
Jim Root from Slipknot and John 5 (former Marilyn Manson guitarist) beg to differ... ;-)
"You only need about ten guitars in your life"...
Fluff...
I love the acoustic riff at 7:27 Is it one of his songs or just a riff? Also are there tabs of it?
Let me know if you mind any, im looking too.
All beautiful, but the Fender Tele....wow, that one stole my heart.
