As a Brit who has watched every race since 1989 I can tell you it's a privilege to have witnessed Senna driving, Schumacher driving and now, Verstappen. We shouldn't look at nationalities but talent. There's always one who will rise above the others in each generation and Verstappen is this generation's great driver. Enjoy the moment!

Not sure of what 'changes' are permitted between qualifying and the race but changing a damaged floor is allowed. I imagine the FIA scrutinise everything that happens to the cars whilst they are in 'parc ferme'.

I really going to like it if he wins, but on Silverstone, and he's going to fight with Lando with an inferior car from mclaren and eventually Lewis it depends on the start and also George is going to be protected from Lewis because mercedes now is focused on him so if he plays he's cards right he is having veri good chances of winning this race. So most likely, he will be on podium, but with the 2 mercedes on the front and mclaren, which is maybe the fastest car, now it will be tough. But hey, if he wins, this will be a very noisy slap for Max haters, and we will have a nice race for sure.

Max is at the absolute peak of his powers, it's scary. Even when he makes mistakes, it wakes everyone up, gets us talking, gets us looking forward to racing again, and he still recovers and always maximises his result. Pure quality and drive for me. The gravel spin looked horrible on the floor, but he just recovers, puts it P4, in the hunt. Makes no mistakes on the lap, just down on pace, gets on with it.
your right, all these things show us how good he really is; broken floor, not the best car, outperforming all his team mates by insane margins, in Austria winning pole by 4 tenth on a 1 min track, winning a GP by 30 seconds or more, raindriver Brazil 2016 etc, the list goes on and on.

If it was 2023 in RB19 so yes he can but this year especially last few weekends RB20 is not dominant like last year even it not even the best car for few races and Mclaren and Mercedes look really fast so yes Max can win the race but it will be really really close maybe with great strategy he can win let just wait and see and also if it the race is wet could be really interesting

I guess the key of the qualifying is the changing weather conditions were the key, lucky for those who run at the last moment of the drying tarmac. But congrats to the top three British drivers.
In Q1 I had my head in my hands. I thought Red Bull had messed up by going out so late, but luckily it was a couple seconds of rain and the track dried up again.

It's allowed to change parts without a penalty when safety is an issue. It's not safe to send someone into a race with a damaged floor. Not just for Max but others around Max as well.

Verstappen sounds like…….he likes excuses. A bit of word salad there. Not sure what he was really talking about.
He said that he was a bit unlucky with the rain, saved the car from going into the wall. The new floor was damaged but the team worked to patch it up. He was already happy that he even made Q3 so to start as 4th is actually something he's very pleased with. It's all a part of racing and he's kind of excited to have a bit of a challenge tomorrow.

1) Everybody was subject to the same rainy conditions, so I don’t understand the statement that he was unlucky with the rain. 2) If the floor of his car was damaged is because he made a mistake. 3) the RB is no longer the fastest car in formula 1 so I don’t think that he would have gotten P1 anyway.
@@ClassicCyclingCC The wet and slippery conditions were changing rapidly and constantly. At that point the track was locally wet when Max went off. Slicks on wet = a crash lottery for anyone.

At the end of the day 1) The track and weather conditions were the same for everyone, 2) Verstappen’s car was in the same condition as everyone else when he started qualifying, 3) Russell, Hamilton and Norris were faster when it was all said and done. A damaged floor because you went off track as well changing rainy conditions are an integral part of formula 1 racing. All I heard from Verstappen is excuses, excuses, excuses.
